Psych is unable to get out of this mini-slump they are in. I actually like Anthony Anderson, but he was unbelievably annoying in this episode. I get that was kind of the point, but to be fair it was annoying and led me to really hate this episode, an episode with a premise in Juliet and Shawn on opposite sides of a case, that could have been exciting.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Stoney Jackson, who plays Fred Dozier, was one of the stars of The Insiders, an 80's TV show that is mentioned in the following episode, Santabarbaratown. He was also on the soap opera Santa Barbara.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Lassiter: So you two breaking up over this?
      Shawn: No.
      Juliet: Of course not.
Lassiter: Well, don't forget, I used to be involved with someone on the force, and it gets very tricky keeping work issues from becoming personal. Now that I'm dating an incarcerated civilian, things are much simpler. Minus the 2-inch glass and the leg shackles.
Juliet: Uh, we appreciate your concern, Carlton. But I don't take it personally that Shawn took on Thane's case, even though I am fairly certain that he is guilty.
Shawn: And I don't take it personally that Juliet feels that way, even though she simply couldn't be wronger.
Lassiter: (cheery) You two are so breaking up over this.

    • Shawn: Just because you put syrup on something don't make it pancakes.

  • NOTES (1)

    • Shawn: Just 'cause you put syrup on something, don't mean you get pancakes
This is a quote from the 1992 movie Juice starring Omar Epps and Tupac Shakur

    • After Dahlia's arrest, Shawn muses on the soap-opera-like aspects of Jordan's life and relationships. Gus says, "Forget about it Shawn, it's just Santa Barbara." This is an allusion to the soap opera, Santa Barbara (1984-1993).
