    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • The song that David and Maureen dance to is 1983 UK novelty hit 'Superman' by Black Lace.

      • This is the first time Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton and Mark Gatiss have performed together on screen since the final episode of The League Of Gentlemen in 2002.

    • NOTES (1)

      • The appearance of Mark Gatiss was kept such a secret as not to spoil it for The League Of Gentlemen fans that his name appeared in magazine listings as 'Sam Kisgart', an anagram of Mark Gatiss.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • This episode pays homage to the 1948 Alfred Hitchcock film Rope. It begins with a shot through a living room window (just as in Rope) where we see Maureen and David Sowerbutt strangling their victim in a picture-perfect apartment. In Rope it was John Dall and Farley Granger committing the murder. And, as in Rope, the body is then dumped into a chest which doubles as the room's coffee table. The similarities continue throughout. Breaking away from the formula of previous episodes, this one takes place entirely on one set - Rope too unfolds on a single set. Both also make use of long takes and both mainly feature just the three key players.
The Hitchcock homage continues with the radio in the background playing Bernard Herrmann's Psycho score.
