    Henry and Punky are annoyed at Alan keeps showing up at their apartment unannounced, but they soften when they learn about the problems going on in Alan's home. When his bickering parents decide to get a divorce, Punky is unsure of how to comfort her friend, and matters worsen when Alan--who refuses to leave town with his mother--asks for Punky's help with a difficult task.moreless

    Punky really wants to see a popular R-rated movie, but Henry thinks she is too young. To make matters worse, Cherie and Margaux have already seen it twice, so now Punky really feels left out.   • It's a Dog's Life
    Episode 10
    Henry is just about to walk a very antsy Brandon when Punky walks in. Margaux has invited Punky to take a ride on her yacht on Lake Michigan, and Punky wants to go out shopping for things she'll want to take with her, but Henry won't let her until she takes Brandon for a walk and gives him a bath. Punky sneaks out with the plan of taking care of Brandon after she goes shopping, but when she gets home, she finds that Brandon has trashed the apartment. Henry comes home, and when he sees the apartment, he grounds Punky from the yacht trip, and she grumbles as she falls asleep that night, leading her to have a dream that Brandon is stuck in her body, and she's stuck in Brandon's body. After waking up the next morning, Punky is a lot more aware of Brandon's needs.moreless
  • My Fair Punky
    Episode 14
    Punky is invited to the birthday party of rich kid Robert Whitney when Henry is hired to be the party's photographer. In order to keep from embarassing Henry, Punky takes lessons from Margaux on how to act like a rich stiff. The lessons don't work -- Punky ends up wreaking havoc and has Robert wishing that his social secretary Charles hadn't invited any stiffs to the party, because Robert didn't want the party to be as boring and stiff as Charles wanted it to be.moreless
  • So Long, Studio
    Episode 19
    While Henry is closing his studio for the day, he is approached by Matt Glossy, the owner of Glossy's, which is a multi-million dollar empire of photography stores. The owner, Sam Glossy, offers to buy Henry's studio for $100,000 and make him the manager of the store that is built in its place. Henry accepts the deal, but when his new position becomes too difficult to handle, Punky suggests something completely different.moreless
  • The Anniversary
    Episode 15
    As May 9 approaches, Punky makes the connection that Cherie disappears every year on that day. Pressured by Punky's constant questioning, Cherie finally acknowledges that May 9 is the anniversary of her parents' tragic death. Punky feels guilty for re-opening an old wound and helps her friend come to terms with her pain.moreless

    Punky befriends a pig at the mall, and she kidnaps it when she discovers that its owner, Jimmy John, plans to have it butchered, but Henry tells Punky that she must return the Pig to Jimmy John, who decides not to have the pig Butchered. He decides to feature the pig in an ad campaign.moreless

    Punky and Cherie are scared after being in the car with their friend Joey's father, whom they suspect is drinking and driving. Talking to Joey about the problem makes it worse, and Henry, who is friends with Mike, wants to give him the benefit of the doubt.     Punky and Cherie send Henry on a blind date with Ms. Maytag, the school librarian, then they talk Betty into appearing on the TV show "Dream Date", where out of the three women on the show, overweight contestant Chuck McKinley chooses Betty.

    Episode 12
    Henry tries to overcome his fear of public speaking when he helps Punky petition city council to turn a vacant lot into a park -- but another man, Mr. Arnold, wants to put a mall in the lot, not realizing that Chicago has too many malls already. Henry does speak for Punky in front of the city council, and the city council decides to turn the vacant lot into a park.moreless
  • Best Friends
    Episode 9
    One day, over popsickle stick houses and big plants, Cherie finds love rolling in when Donald Sotta accidentally runs over Henry's gardening. It's love at first sight for Cherie and Donald, who start spending all their time with each other, and a hurt Punky gets really ticked off at being the third wheel. As Donald and Cherie continue to spend more time together, Punky finally makes her feelings known, and the demolition of Punky's popsickle stick house for lumber is the last straw. Punky attempts to get over Cherie by becoming best friends with Margaux instead, but that doesn't work. And things don't work out between Donald and Cherie; all Donald ends up thinking about is baseball, basketball, and wrestling, and an apologetic Cherie would much rather hang out with Punky.moreless
  • 12/9/87
    After Punky's attempt to get the police to look for Brandon, and a teen con artist shows up with a bad fake, Henry brings up the point that there's a chance that Brandon may not be found. Henry, Betty, and Cherie try to cheer Punky up with a new golden retriever puppy, but that doesn't work. However, one of the flyers that Cherie was handing out ends up in the hands of Joey's mother. Joey doesn't want to give Brandon up, but Brandon takes matters into his own paws and escapes from Joey and shows up at Punky and Henry's door, being chased by Joey and his mother. With Brandon back, Punky decides to give the puppy to Joey, who has discovered that he and his parents won't be moving to California after all.moreless

    When the apartment door is accidentally left open, Brandon makes a sudden escape, leaving Punky devastated and determined to find him. Not even a 5-hour-long search party brings the dog back in Punky's arms, and Cherie blames herself for the whole thing. Meanwhile, Brandon, who is now a "free man" on the streets, comes across a lonely young boy who would love nothing more than a pet of his own.moreless

    What do you do when you get fired from your own restaurant? Punky is about to find out when she begs Henry to let her work as a waitress at Punky's Place, then gets forced into an "early retirement" when things don't go quite as planned.

    Henry still has access to a bottle of sleeping pills that were prescribed for him six months ago, and when he has difficulty getting to sleep at night, he turns to them for help. When Punky realizes what is going on, she is concerned that his health is in jeopardy, and as an 11-year-old girl, she faces the challenge of her life when she must guide Henry out of this dangerous addiction.moreless

    A blizzard traps Punky, Henry, Betty, Cherie, Margaux, and Brandon in Henry and Punky's apartment, where the gang passes the time by remembering past situations that they've been in, with flashbacks to past episodes.

    An overweight classmate named Spud desperately wants to take Punky to an upcoming school dance, but she refuses. He manages to trick her into inviting him, but when she tries to cancel later, he walks out onto the ledge of his apartment--and threatens to jump.

    Punky's class is putting together a newspaper. Although she doesn't get the job she wants for it, she soon becomes engrossed in her "human interest" column, which includes some very hurtful gossip about certain classmates.
  • Tons of Fun
    Episode 3
    Punky and Henry welcome a visit from Henry's young niece, who has packed on quite a few pounds in recent years. When she finally expresses regret for being so heavy, the gang works hard to help her get back on track.
  • 10/30/87
    After learning that Punky did not do her book report, Henry cancels Punky's plans to see her favorite singing group DeBarge in concert, a move that Punky vows to never forgive Henry for -- until Henry gets DeBarge to come to the apartment and tell Punky how important reading is.
  • 11/6/87
    Punky and Cherie enlist the help of the other tenants to help keep Maude Firestein from having to move to a nursing home. Maude is a favorite neighbor among the tenants, and the only tenant who doesn't like the effort to keep Maude from moving is chronic complainer Pete "The Crank" Frank. With a lot support from the neighbors, it turns out that Maude doesn't have to move.moreless
