Pursuit of Happiness (1987)

Show Summary

Pursuit of Happiness starred Paul Provenza as a young professor and Brian Keith as the gruff authority figure. Throw in Judie Aronson as Keith's daughter, and it all adds up to Ivy League college humor. Brian Keith plays a grumpy old Professor who won the Nobel Prize, and Provenza is the eager young Professor who wants to be just like him. Keith has climbed his mountain and attained his prize, and he is in no hurry to teach or mentor anyone. L.A. Lakers forward Magic Johnson guest starred in each episode, playing a different historical character each time. He played roles from George Washington to Ben Franklin, and he always imparted a lesson to the young Professor. Magic was the young Professor's idol. Magic was everyone's idol back then.
