    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (4)

      • When Ruben is confronting Chuey in the locker room about the money Chuey's mother owes him, one of the names taped to a locker can clearly be read as "J. Mehoff". For the unaware, this is a fake "trick" or "prank" name, with the J. standing for Jack.

      • A shot of the scoreboard near the end of the climactic game shows 0:06 remaining in the 4th quarter, but in a subsequent conversation on the bench, Sam says there are 23 seconds left.

      • The above is not a goof. The Steelers were indeed 'down by three' at two different points in Super Bowl XXX, at 3-0 after Dallas scored on their opening drive and again at 20-17 midway through the fourth quarter (The final score was 27-17, Dallas)

      • Original Air Date was January 17, 1990
Title Elapsed 38 min: Al comes in and Sams askes "where have you been?" and Al says "I've been watching SuperBowl 30... and the Steelers are down by 3..." Super Bowl XXX was held on January 28, 1996. It was the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburg Steelers. But the score was never that close. Even so the fact that they got one of the teams right is pretty cool!

    • QUOTES (5)

    • NOTES (4)

      • The quote below is ironically prophetic, as the Steelers would play in Super Bowl XXX in 1996.

        Sam: Where have you been?
Al: I've been watching SuperBowl 30... and the Steelers are down by 3...

      • This is the one of the only episodes in which Al first appears to Sam before the opening credits.

      • The director of this episode, John Cullum, previously played John O'Malley in "Catch A Falling Star".

      • Deborah Pratt begins narrating the opening prologue with this episode. However, the music used in the prologue in the previous episode is still used. This prologue and all prologues and opening titles seen in all second season episodes (and the first season opening titles) are deleted from Sci-Fi channel airings and replaced with the prologue and opening sequence used in season four.
