Nigel's butler, Horace, resembles, in look, demeanor, and voice tone, the character "Lurch" from the 1964 television series The Addams Family.
The Addams Family was well-known as a series regarding a satirical inversion of the ideal American nuclear family, which was depicted as an eccentric wealthy family who delight in everything grotesque and macabre. The Addams Family, however, was never really aware that people find them bizarre or frightening, and despite their seemingly "spooky" presentation, they appealed as a family oriented comedy series.
This marks one of the many horror references in "Blood Moon".
