  • Trilogy

Call me a hopeless romantic or whatever, I love the Trilogy. I can't help but feel for Sam as he struggles with his love for Abagail and wanting a normal life with people he loves versus doing what he is there to do. Of course, in the end he puts right what is wrong and leaps. The scene in the nursing home where Sam is going to pieces is heartbreaking.
  • In the Trilogy Part Two, Sam leaps into Abigail's life again as an adult, and Sam finds himself as her fiance.

The absolute best episode of Quantum Leap ever. The passion shared between Abigail and Sam is just beautiful. Maybe this episode has such a tremendous effect because we were already established with the characters from Part One, whereas the whole concept of Quantum Leap is with each leap, we have to get to know the characters all over again. But whatever the exact magic was, this episode, out of all of the seasons, out of all of the hours my mom taped off of USA, this one stuck with me out of them all, and it is just the best.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • There was no "To Be Continued" at the end of this episode as there was in the previous one.

    • When Sam revisits the home Laura Fuller resides in, the exterior shot is the same one used in the previous episode, right down to the extras moving around outside. It appears a stock footage clip was used for both shots.

  • QUOTES (5)

  • NOTES (2)

    • This episode originally aired along with "Trilogy, Part Three" as a two-hour special.

    • When Sam leaps into an "intimate situation" with Abigail, she makes a comment later about how she noticed that he was suddenly different during the encounter.

Abigail is aware that Sam has leaped into Will, but she still sees the "aura" of Will just like everyone else. There are several references throughout Parts Two and Three reveal Abagail to be aware of Sam's presence within his leaps.

It appears destiny is working toward the two paring; Abigail seems to fall in love with Sam and later she names her daughter Sammy Jo, hinting at the possibility that she somehow connected with Sam's true persona.
