Episode Summary

While reluctantly taking care of his obnoxious nephew John as a favor to his sister, Brian finds the boy stealing money from his wallet. Not only is John unrepentant, he berates Brian with a barrage of anti-gay slurs. Brian takes John to the bathroom, sticks the boy's head in the toilet and flushes. Infuriated, John vows revenge. He accuses Brian of molesting him, and the police take Brian to the station for questioning. Justin tracks down John at an arcade and notices that he's wearing Brian's trademark seashell bracelet. Detective Horvath, Debbie, and Justin go to see Brian's sister to confront her son about the bracelet. John finally admits the truth, and the charges against Brian are dropped. Justin returns the bracelet to Brian and tenderly ties it around Brian's wrist.

Melanie and Lindsay ask Michael to be the father of their second child, and he agrees. But when they ask him to sign a document whereby he surrenders all parental rights, Michael refuses. Later, Melanie tears up the document, and Michael, Melanie, and Lindsay begin planning for the baby's conception together.

Meanwhile, obsessively neat Ted asks messy Emmett to move in with him, and disaster results. They decide to look for a house so that they will have plenty of space to be themselves. And Ben boosts his workouts ... and his steroid use.

  • Brian's sister flies in with a favor to ask that a reluctant Brian isn't thrilled about. Mel and Linze continue searching for a donor. Ted asks Emmett to move in with him.moreless

    Ted asks Emmett to move in with him because he doesn't think it makes sense for Emmett to always have to run back and forth between their places. Brian tells them it won't last very long and Emmett wonders if it's too soon. When Ted's OCD gets in the way he freaks out on Emmett's invasion of the place and Emmett moves back in with Mike. However, Ted comes to suggest that he and Emmett move out of Ted's place and find a place of their own together, preferably a house. Emmett is thrilled. Brian is however not thrilled when his homophobic sister Clair shows up needing someone to watch her son John. He is a homophobic little brat, and he learned it from his family because they all treat Brian the same way. He is a jerk to Brian. When Brian catches John stealing from him he teaches John a lesson by giving him a swirly. John retaliates by accusing Brian of molesting him and forcing him to perform sexual acts on him. Brian gets questioned by the police, and his family treats him like he's a perverted criminal without even hearing his side of it. He tells the police that this was just a retaliation tactic by John, and Justin makes a trip to see the little brat. He sees Brian's bracelet on John's wrist and tells Carl. Everyone winds up at Clair's house demanding to know the truth. When John has to show everyone the bracelet, Justin says that Brian's initials are carved in it. Everyone finds out John was lying and Justin saves Brian's butt for the second time. The first time was when Brian was accused of sexual harassment from the guy at work that wanted a job promotion. Justin brings the bracelet back to Brian and puts it on him. They clearly still want each other, i wonder if they're going to hopefully get back together. Mel and Linze decide Mike should be the donor for the new child Mel is going to carry. Mike is thrilled until he finds out the girls want him to sign over his parental rights since Brian gave them such a hard time about it. Mike refuses because he wants to be a father, knowing what it was like growing up without one. The girls rethink things and tear up the agreement, telling Mike he can in fact be the father. In the meantime, Ben is spending quite a bit of time at the gym, but mike still doesn't know he's doing steroids. However, Vic knows something is going on and tries to talk to Ben. Ben is on edge and takes off. I hope Ben doesn't start getting roid rage. Another great episode as usual, the suspense just continues to build.moreless

  • Justin bails Brian out of trouble, once again.

    When Brian is asked to babysit John, his homophobe nephew for a few hours, he got a little more than he bargained for. First he insults Brian about being gay then calls Debbie a drag queen, and to top it all off, he steals money and that famous shell bracelet of Brian's. When John refuses to put the money back and gets physical with Brian, he dunks his head in the toilet. Looking for revenge, he makes up false accusations that Brian molested him. When Jutin hears the news that Brian is in trouble, he looks for any way he can to bail him out. He hunts John down at the arcade and sees the shell bracelet that he was wearing. When John returns home, Carl, Debbie, Justin, and Claire are all waiting for him. They find out that he made up the accusations, and Brian out of trouble. Once again, we can thank Justin for this. This is the second or third time that he's gotten Brian out of a sticky situation. Obviously, if Justin didn't still love Brian, there would've been no reason to want to help him out. At the end we see Justin go up to Brian's loft to give back Brian his bracelet and helps him put it on for him. The look that they exchange at the end lets everyone know that even though Justin may be going back to Ethan that night, his heart is still with Brian.moreless

  • Brian is accused of molesting his homophobic nephew, but Justin saves the day. The love is definitely still there.

    I cannot believe how cruel and homophobic some people are. What's even worse for Brian is when his own family believes the absolute worst of him--thinking he's some depraved pervert--simply because of his sexual orientation. I can see why Brian hates his family, and I don't blame him in the least.

    But this episode was amazing because for one thing, Ethan wasn't in it, and for another, Justin proves that his love for Brian hasn't diminished at all. He'd still do anything for Brian. And this is the second time Justin has helped Brian out of a legal crisis. God they're so good together!

    I find the end scene to be particularly lovely. The look on Brian's face as he's watching Justin tie his bracelet is that of longing and love. I bet it's all he can do to not grab Justin and have his way with him.

    And though these episodes are difficult to watch because Brian and Justin are not together, I still can't help but enjoy them on some level because it makes their inevitable reunion that much more significant, and not to mention hot.moreless

    I mean okay, we all knew that Brian's nephews weren't the greatest kids. I mean they didn't have a stellar mom so it was safe to assume that they wouldn't be the greatest kids and they are young so that's another factor. But wow! This John kid. The mouth on him and the things he does. I mean he rips Brian off on a few things, including a nice chunk of change. Then Brian shoves his face in the toilet, a nice swirly. That was...well, let's just a say a full time daddy he is most certainly not ready to be. But then afterwards, as a form of payback, YIKES! This John kid claims that Brian molested him. I mean that is just so horrible, the kid is young and though he is partly to blame his mother and grandmother are really the one's to blame. I mean after all the horrible things the must say about Brian and being gay around John, all the horrible things they have said to Brian, and all the horrible things they have done to Brian it is only natural that the kid would pick up a few things. Child are like spoinges, they absorb everything. I could not believe Brian's mother and sister though, I mean even after all the hate and shame they have treated Brian with in the past I still can not believe they could think Brian would do something like that. I mean to think that your only child would do such a thing, to accuse him of that. I thought his mother had done bad things to him in the past, this was the mother of all horrible thing. How shamefull.

    Sunshine on the other hand makes a point of showing us all that though he and Brian are no longer with one another his caring for him is not even dented, he would still do anything for him.

    Big congratulations to Mikey for standing up for being the father of his possible child and making the decision to be a father, he'll be a fantastic one!moreless
