Justin decides to leave the loft which creates a rift between Michael and Brian. Ted struggles to exact his plan of revenge while Lindsey and Gus move back to her parents.

  • Man, this episode had some good acting in it!

    "Superb"
I have to say that the best acting for this week was Brian. His drunken rave with Michael was just so well acted. Gale Harrold really did an excellent job. It's so obvious that he trully loves Justin and that all of his friends are changing around leaving him alone. All Michael and he have done since the season has premiered is fight. I'm glad Justin left though. Michael was right, Justin has never been completely happy, he just happened to fall in love with Brian and for a while that was enough. But man are they all growing up. Hal Sparks did great with the scene in the kitchen with Brian as well. He usually tries to reason with Brian, but lately, he has been standing up to him, letting Brian know that it is time that they all grow up, especially him.

I feel sorry for Michael and Ben, especially Ben. I loved the line, "He's my blood!" I love that they completely embraced Hunter as their son. I hope he comes back and is fine. Robert Gant did an excellent job with that scene.

Lindsey and Melanie are less annoying this week. I don't know why Lindsey didn't ask her mother before she gave up her apartment whether or not her mother accepted her life. I guess she was right when she says we all want acceptance from our parents. I feel bad for her though, not being able to share her life and family with her parents. But at least we have move her and Melanie into a friendlier place.

Poor Ted! He finally finds someone who likes him for his body (and maybe more!) then he has to give him up to make a point. Granted, I'm with Emmet on this, he could not continue that relationship with out letting his guy know that he had done the same to him once. But it was interesting to see that the guy who was so cold to others, was upset at what Ted had done to him. I loved that Emmet and Brian were the angel and the devil on his shoulder (so to speak)

I can't wait until next week!

It happened, and we all knew that it would. Justin asks him on last time, that if he isn't willing to make a small gesture, than he'll be on his way out the door. Brian obviously won't compromise in any way, and watches the love of his life walk out the door on him again. This was terribly heartwrenching, but Brian once again had it coming. Instead of sitting at home depressed, he goes out to Babylon and drinks his sorrows away. He continues on his quest to maintain his status as "hottest guy in Pittsburg", but continues to feel intimidated by Brandon. He decides to bar him from the club, in which they start a competition to see who can get the ten hottest guys in Pittsburg first. At late hours, Brian shows up drunk at Michael's enraged and blaming his and Justin's breakup on him. He says that he filled his head with all of his monogamy ideas. It's official, their friendship is over for now.moreless
  • Brian lost the love of his life and his best friend all in the same episode. It's got to be one of the saddest episodes in the series.

    "Great"
Justin left Brian, and it seemed like Brian was tearing up as he left. But he failed to do anything about it. When Justin asked him "Then why are we still doing this if we both know it will never work?", it would've been the perfect time for Brian to say "Because I love you." Justin would've stayed with him. It's the truth--Brian does love him and he definitely doesn't want him to leave despite their differences. It's obvious because Brian chooses to ignore or brush off Justin's remarks about marriage, probably hoping that he'll just get over it. If Brian were fed up with Justin and their different views on relationships, he would've told Justin to just leave, that'd it be best for them both. But Brian would never do that because he wants Justin with him, any way he can get him. That's why he'd never be the one to end things with Justin. Brian doesn't fool anybody, not even Ted or Emmett. Both of them see through his tough talk about not being bothered by his and Justin's break-up. He's devastated that Justin left him. Why else would he go to Michael and Ben's house (drunk, I might add) where Justin is staying to fight with Michael over losing him? Brian blames Michael for Justin leaving him, and as a result their friendship gets destroyed. Brian wouldn't destroy his friendship with Michael over Justin unless he really really loved Justin, which he plainly does.

And now in an effort to distract him from the pain of losing Justin, Brian's engaging himself in a childish game with the hot new boy who we all know will eventually tear Brian down from his throne. It's inevitable.

Contrary to what Michael says in series finale, Brian will not always be young and he will not always be beautiful. That's the biggest lie I've ever heard, and Brian's a fool to believe it. He needs to grow up and accept the fact that he can't escape time. And if he doesn't watch out, all his friends will grow up and leave him behind, even Michael.moreless
  • Justin and Brian, over yet again!

    "Great"
Justin and Brian are over, yet again. What is this the third time? And yet this time has a sense of real ending (if I didn't know any better I would seriously think that it could be their final ending). After Brian and Justin have a sort of discussion about what they both want, their unwillingness to change their ideals, and pretty much just what kind of future they could really have Justin moves out. This time it is on better terms (then the last time anyway) but it still has me in tears. And then, after Justin moves in with Ben and Michael, Brian takes it less then well. He shows up at the Novotony Bruckner's very smashed and very transparent. He goes on a wicked tirade about how Michael infected him with ideas of marriage, family, and children. Well, I've got news for Mr. Kinney Michael didn't put any ideas in Sunshine's head (as Michael very correctly points out) they were already there. They had already been there for some time. And yes Justin was happy with him and loved him very much but that isn't always enough. If two people are to be a couple they need to want the same thing, Sunshine's well stated point, and until Brian realizes that then their is no future for them. Fortunate for us he is very transparent in his drunken stupor. If he really didn't care about Justin and really didn't want to be with him then why would he go to the trouble to get so very angry at Michael, to get so drunk the way he did?moreless

    • Justin: To be a couple, both people have to want the same things. To move in the same direction. If they can't or... or won't... They really have nowhere to go. Brian: Probably not. Justin: Then why are we still doing this if we both know it's never gonna work? Brian: Damned if I know.

    • Brian: Well, Mikey... congratulations. Michael: For what? Brian: You won. To the spoiler goes the victory. Michael: I don't know what you're talking about. Brian: Of course you don't. No one plays dewy-eyed innocent better than you. Although, at 34, you're getting a bit long in the tooth for short pants. Michael: Speaking of outgrowing your act... nothing's more pathetic to use one of your favourite words than an over-the-hill club boy. Brian: You infected him with your petty bourgeois, mediocre, conformist, assimilationist life! Thanks to you, he's got visions babies, weddings, white picket fences, dancing in his blond little head. Michael: And you think I put them there? Brian: Before you and your husband tied the noose around your necks, he was perfectly happy! And now he's a defector just like the rest of you! Michael: He was never perfectly happy! Waiting for years for you to say 'I love you, you're the only one I want'! Brian: That's not who I am! Michael: Don't we all know? Brian: And now he's here in your house... Michael: It's a home. Brian: It's a farce! It's a freak show! Michael: Call it what you want, I honestly don't care. But he didn't leave because I 'infected' him. He left because of you. Who wouldn't?
