Episode Summary

EDIT
House Full of Children
AIRED:

Without Brian, Justin has no way of paying his college tuition and faces dropping out of school. Justin's mother recommends he ask his father for the money, but his dad refuses. After imploring a financial aid officer to defer tuition until after he graduates, Justin learns that it has already been paid. Ethan thinks Justin's dad changed his mind, but Justin knows the truth. He stops by the loft to thank Brian, who again urges him to work with Michael on the comic book.

Meanwhile, Brian interrupts a quiet evening at home for Ben and Michael, who end up accompanying him to Babylon. Brian's continuing need for Michael's companionship since Justin left puts a strain on Michael's relationship with Ben, who suggests that he find his own apartment.

Ted and Emmett's first sexual experience proves extremely satisfying for both. But Emmett's sexual rendezvous with a flight attendant, with whom he had made a date prior to becoming involved with Ted, severely tests Ted and Emmett's newfound romance.

Meanwhile, Melanie and Lindsay argue about having a second child. Lindsay does not want to be pregnant again and tells Melanie to bear the child herself, if she wants it so desperately. Melanie confides her fears about motherhood to Debbie, who offers reassurance.

  • Brian Still Cares

    9.0
Interesting insight to the relationships of Lindsay and Melanie, Ted and Emmett, and Ben and Michael. Interestingly only one of these does not involve Brian - Brian, who sinks deeper into his depression despite proving how much he continues to care about Justin.
  • Justin announces that he's quitting school next semester because he can't pay the tuition. Emmett and Ted high a rough spot already. Mel pressures Linze to have another child.

Brian is still missing Justin and seeing him during sex. In fact he's rushing around faster than usual through life, partying, drugs, guys, trying to be as fast as possible so he doesn't have to think about Justin. He keeps pressuring Mike into partying with him non-stop and it's getting Mike into trouble with Ben. Ben encouraged Mike to help Brian out because he needs his best friend right now, but when mike blows off a dinner because Brian "kidnapped" him, Ben suggests that maybe he should get his own place since Mike is never home anyway. Justin makes up a bit with Mike and says he'll work on the comic some more, after he had told Mike earlier that he wouldn't. Jennifer meets Ethen and is impressed, and she tells Justin that he should talk to his father for financial help for school. When his father still won't budge because Justin isn't the man he wanted him to be, Justin leaves. He goes to the school to see what he can do until he can come up with the money, and finds out his tuition has been paid for. At first he thinks it was his father but then goes to Brian's house and knows it was him. He says he can't accept it and Brian says it's ok for him to because he's paying Brian back. He also gives Justin the expensive computer. Brian frustrates me, that was his chance! Why didn't he just open his mouth and say i love you? In the meantime another lesbian that the girls know, Dusty brings up the subject of kids. Mel seems to want another one but this wasn't confirmed at first. She starts to pressure Linze for another child and when Linze finds out that Mel is telling people like Dusty that they are having another child, Linze freaks out. She tells Mel to carry the child herself even though the doctors said she couldn't. I understand Linze being upset, but i think she took things way out of proportion, and i'm wondering why. I know she wants to get back into her career again and everything, but is there something else bothering her? In the meantime things seem to be going well for Ted and Emmett, until a flight attendant that Emmett was with the week before he and Ted got together flies into town. Seeking advice from Brian Emmett intends to break things off with this guy who was advancing so forwardly, but winds up fooling around with him instead. When the guy approaches Emmett at the gym and doesn't keep it as quiet as they were supposed to, Ted finds out. I can't believe Emmett did this already. Ted is furious and hurt, and Emmett is genuinely sorry for hurting him. However in the end, i think Ted has already forgiven Emmett because he loves him so much. Let's hope Emmett can try to remain faithful after this.moreless
  • Brian pays for Justin's tuition

    9.7
With Brian gone, Justin doesn't know where to turn to for financial help with his tuition. He seeks his father's help, but he still upset that Justin didn't make him proud by going to business school. I hate Justin's dad, esspecially after the incident where he beat up Brian. And you can tell that he's still not proud of his son, even after seeing what kind of talent he has. Justin even decides to tell him that he isn't with Brian anymore, and you can tell in his father's eyes, that there is a flicker of hope that perhaps that means that Justin isn't gay anymore. He then reminds him that he is still gay and has no interest in folllowing his dreams for Justin, by becoming a business major. With no where else to turn, he goes to a financial aid, who informs him that his tuition has already been paid for. Hmm... I wonder who did that? And Ethan just sits there thinking that it was his dad that paid for it, after changing his mind. I don't think so Ethan.moreless
  • More like character insight

    8.4
No matter what this episode proves that Brian not only misses Justin but that he loves him very much. Not only does he make a point of giving Justin back his computer, keeping up with his college tuition, tries to help him reconcile with Mikey but he sticks to Mikey likes glue. I mean he needs his best friend. Wether he loved him or not the simple fact is that Brian was dumped and no matter what the situation there is no way that it could have felt good, even if you aren't super affected by it (though Brian very clearly is).

And what the heck was with that...let's say hallucination of Brian's. I mean I know what it was about but wow! I thought the hustler from the previous episode was bad. Now he's going crazy for cocoa puffs.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Right after Emmett leaves the apartment and Brian arrives, we hear Michael and Ben talking whether Emmett could have forgotten his keys. Michael announces that Emmett never forgets his key.
However, in a previous episode in season one, when Brian in knocking on the door in the middle of the night, we hear he exclaim "Emmett, you can't keep forgetting your keys", which implies, that he does this on a regular basis.
