Alex has longed to act since high school. But age 29 he's only now realizing it, he was inspired to pick the craft after 9/11 when he realized life is way too short. The Fab 5 are more than happy to help him.
Problems: When Alex moved into his wife Carine's apartment she left no room for his stuff. His hair is kind of shapeless, he's a closet smoker and wants to quit, Carine and Alex's apartment consists of:white walls, mounds of laundry, and that's about it. Alex's wardrobe consists of things from his former Wall Street job and he's afraid his style sucks so he hasn't had any head shots done.
Carson gets Alex some striped shirts and new blazer, he later rearranges the apartment so Alex has his own closet. Jai preps Alex for his audition with Jai's acting coach. Kyan takes Alex to get a haircut and then to a photoshoot to have headshots. Ted take Alex to chocolate shop owned by a woman who, like Alex, left the corporate arena to do something she loved. Alex and Carine don't always agree on decorating styles, so Thom takes them on a dual shopping trip to find things they both like.
Back at the apartment, Carson has rearranged things so Alex has his own closet. Kyan gives him a book on quitting smoking. Ted teaches Alex how to make truffles for Carine so she doesn't feel neglected. Jai looks over Alex's headshots with him, and later goes behind Carson's back and tells Alex to wear something different to what Carson picked out!
Once the Fab Five have left, Alex runs around madly, lighting candles and preparing the chocolate. Carine is shocked and delighted by the new apartment, and even more so when she discovers the truffles. Alex leaves for his audition, and waits nervously while another actor auditioning for the same role attempts to psyche him out. The audition seems to go smoothly, and Alex leaves to go to a restaurant where all his friends and family are waiting for him. Halfway through dinner the casting director calls to invite Alex back for a sexond audition.
