Can anybody tell me the rest of the words to the wedding vow that the bride sang in this episode:

    Quincy's Wedding (2)

Episode Number: 142 Season Num: 8 First Aired: Wednesday February 23, 1983

I know it starts like this, please help me with the rest:

I promise you a honest love, not a fairytale.
For without truth and honesty, love is sure to fail.
I promise you the quiet nights
The gentle touch by candle lights...

That's where my mind goes blank and I can't remember the rest of it. Please help!

I don't know.  But lets hope in a couple of years that season will be out on DVD.

    Good day.

I recently came across both VHS tapes on Quincy's Wedding. If you like I can play them and take down his bride's vows that she sang to Quincy. Please let me know....happy to help. I can lay claim to having seen every episode at least once.

I really would appreciate that. Thank you so very much. I've been trying to think of them for a really long time. I look forward to your reply.

    Sincerely,
    Laurie

    Hi Laurie,

My sincere apologies as I noticed it has been two months since you posted a reply to my promise.

I do not surf the Internet whatsoever as my travel schedule is pressing. However,I had a moment, thjought of "Quincy, M.E.", jumped on this site and then saw your reply. I leave on business very soon for over a week, but shall play the old VHS afterI return and settle business at my desk, record those wedding vows and then be back in touch with you.

I am heartily sorry for the lapse in time, but my intentions to provide you with the information are honourable and sincere.

    Paul

Laurie, I have been away a great deal, but will look at my VHS tapes on Q's wedding and take down his vows for you. I will also transfer those taped to DVD as disintegration is a very real concern of mine. That series remains very special to me and always shall. Paul

    Dear VCD Laurie,

I recorded these two episodes of "Quincy's Wedding" sometime in March 1990 when I lived in Hudson, MA. The episodes were run on WJAR-TV Channel 10 in Providence, RI. I played both VHS tapes and they are still of very good quality. I might transfer them to DVD so as to permanently preserve them. Dr. Emily Hanover (his fiancee) had a pretty voice, too.

Here are the vows "she sang" to Quincy: I promise you an honest love, not a fairy tale

for without truth and honesty love is soon to fail.

I promise you the single tear that says come close to me,

But other times I'll ask of you the strength to _______?

I promise you the quiet nights the gentle touch by candle light,

I'll tell you things ______? no one before but you must accept in me the doubts

and insecurities, for in those times I need you even more.

I promise you an even love that time can never change

And in your eyes I see that you have promised me the same....

And in your eyes I see that you have promised me the same.

As you can see there are two, maybe three words that she did not enunciate properly. I ran my tapes back and forth close to a dozen times, but just could not pick out the exact words or even a decent guess. I have asked my wife to listen as another person can often herar things differently. I will work at finding out the exact verses for you and all other Quincy, M.E. fans.

You are welcomed to email me at: pvbattaglia@rare-coins.com if you wish....thinking of making a DVD of his wedding and wanted to offer you the option.

Much thanks for your patience. I travel and it eats up a lot of my free time, but I ALSO KEEP MY PROMISES.

    Paul

I listened to the tapes on Quincy's Wedding again.

We discovered one of the missing words.

The first missing word in my text is "disagree"

I will endeavour to discover what Emily is singing and discover the last word or two.

I will pull my VHS tapes on their wedding, write down what Quincy said to his bride and post them for you within a few weeks' time.
