    Grace, overhearing a private conversation between Ray and Travis held in a busy public area, tells her friend who tells another friend who tells another and so on. Contrary to the old "telephone" game, sometimes the gossip doesn't become distorted. Of course, it can be assumed some students probably added their own exaggerated touches to the story. Regardless, it's interesting how each character deals with each turn of events. After finding Lily and River asleep in Lily's basement, Ray tries to keep the revelation to himself. Then he confesses to Travis who ruthlessly pries the information from him by asking, "Hey Ray, are you okay?" The boys tell Robbie and, as the rumour spreads, the R.F.R. boys try to shield Lily from the gossip. River tries to talk to Lily but accepts her wish that he just leave her alone. He's a smart guy, realizing that arguing with her would be pointless and trying to recruit Ray to talk for him. Who knows? He may truly care about Lily after all. Lily distrusts River only because the evidence suggests she has to. Who else could have told people they had fallen asleep in her basement? Her apology after the truth came out was fitting. Newsman Robert McGrath deals with the gossip and the reality that his kind of news reporting won't appear in the Oracle. With Travis' help, Robbie becomes disenchanted with Blaire. The two storylines beautifully intersect. Robbie leaves the school newspaper with a great article, Ray diffuses gossip with the truth and a funny photo, and Lily and River are cake again. Witty and comical, Truth Or Conquests remains true to characters and situations.moreless

    Granted the River/Lily debacle felt a bit farfetched and Blaire still isn't a great editor, but Truths Or Conquests redeems Radio Free Roscoe after its previous episode.
