Raising Caines

Show Summary

Raising Caines is a television show produced by NBC for a single season in 1995. It features six episodes and stars Judge Reinhold from the Beverly Hills Cop series. The show follows the Caines family, a couple trying to do their best to raise their children in an increasingly complex and dangerous world. In the midst of the coming of age dramas and typical family conflicts, the Caines manage to expose the lighter side of life, making the show a engaging sitcom in the vein of Family Ties. Episodes like "Fathers and Daughters" follow the saga of men watching their daughters grow up and discover the world of boys and dating. "The Goldfish" captures the familiar moment in which a family must first deal with death on the small scale of a pet, and then in a larger and more frightening way. The show also stars Mel Harris, Barry Corbin, and Michelle Williams of Dawson's Creek, and though it was produced for NBC, it gained an international audience.
