(The Chances visit the doctor to learn more about Jimmy's talent and memory loss)
Jimmy: ...and I haven't been able to remember anything, and I haven't been able to play the piano or sing ever since.
Dr. Finklestein: That's fascinating! Because when you guys walked in here, I thought for sure you were looking for oxycotton.
Burt: (after Jimmy tries to sing) Jimmy, for the love of god, stop it! You're killing your mother!
Virginia: (to Jimmy after he realizes he used to know how to perform) Okay, fine... at one point in your life, you might have been a little... amazingly talented.
Cloris Leachman is now billed as a regular star. In a jokingly manner, her full credit reads "and introducing Cloris Leachman as Maw Maw."
Music featured in this episode:
Greyson Chance performs covers of Otis Redding's song "Hard to Handle" and Train's "Meet Virginia." Also, Jimmy sings "Never Gonna Let You Go" by Sergio Mendes, but it is unknown who actually sang the song for the actor.

Burt: What's different about right now from last night?
Jimmy: About eight beers.
Burt: That's right! You were drunk. OK, this makes perfect sense. I saw an episode of Family Guy where the dad could only play piano when he was drunk.
Virginia: Yes! And I saw a sitcom on ABC, where a lady couldn't speak Italian unless she was drunk.
Burt: Alright! You know what else we're great at? Remembering important things we see on TV that help us navigate the rough waters of our lives.
This happened on the ABC sitcom Happy Endings, to the character of Penny played by Casey Wilson.
Shelley: We lost one of our favorite seniors, Sherwood. He used to start each day with a song that perfectly recapped what was going on.
Sherwood Schwartz died in July of 2011. He was an American television producer who also wrote theme songs to his best-known sitcoms, Gilligan's Island and The Brady Bunch. The theme songs are remembered for recapping the situation that was the premise of each show.
