For people who enjoyed this show the other nights it seems the ratings showed it. As i read it broke the record for a cable television premiere. So if you enjoyed the show it is for sure on to a great start. Just thought people the ratings so far look good for this show as of now.

Pilots normally get good ratings especially if they have great commercials like this show had too bad the actual episode was such a huge let down.

I would agree the pilot ratings were high becuase of no commercials and after the closer and things like that, but i dont think the pilot was a let down at all. No it was not the best thing in the world, but it still was good.

I liked the pilot, but it wasn't anything different for me. It's like any other law show except for a b*tchy judge. I might stick around the next few episodes and take it from there.

another court drama... whatever was not sleep-worthy in the script was drowned by average acting and awful direction (oh would that be the Producer's son directing?)... I'm sorry to see TNT sinking so low after producing such great shows as The Closer and Saving Grace. Most likely this one will last as long as Heartland.

I'm glad the show got great ratings! My husband and I absolutely loved it. I really enjoyed seeing the Public Defender side of things rather than focusing on the D.A. IMO. We will def. continue to watch!

i have to agee with toasterfraker...something very wrong with this show..would do better as a comedy ie...boston legal-like,but without d kelly,no good. i don't care how gifted jane k is,i will stop watching this tonite because of her role. i can't watch her role her eyes at p m glasser(sp)once more... the issues are important and the system does not work esp for the poor, but in gen it is flawed and getting so bad it's scary. so,cudos for trying to show that. but, something is wrong with this show...producers have had so many great hits. too bad

Ratings may be misleading: I watch the show OnDemand at my convenience. Do those views get counted?

I love the show. Very compelling. I've never seen a law show that centers on public defenders.

My guess on the ratings getting lower is because now that the closer is done for awhile you dont get there carry over not to mention other shows are starting up every week that probably steal veiwers. It still is only cable it has alot to compete with sometimes on Monday night. But that is just wishful thinking who knows maybe TNT is regretting its decision, but i hope not.

    I couldn't disagree more!
Raising the Bar is what Boston Legal should be, not the other way around. This show depicts a very raw and real view of law and justice and the cracks within the legal system. Boston Legal straddle's the fence between comedy and drama, and in my opinion, unlike the rest of the world it seems, leans directly on the side of Comedy and not Drama, and is, for a fact, a liberal political soap box, where the Democrats are always right and the Republicans are always wrong. Raising the bar is a real Drama, it shows heart and reality and I connect with these characters and I've enjoyed every episode. The writing is brilliant, I connect with the bleeding heart of Kellerman, and the struggle to fight for those who cannot defend for themselves unless you go to whatever means possible to do so. This show is amazing.

Ep 5 Sept 29th didn't do any better than the previous week. Around 2.5 mil viewers. Again it didn't make it into the Top 40 Cable Shows for the week of Sept 29-October 5th.
