Goof: In the scene where Balco is chewing Marcus out for talking to his girlfriend about the case, Balco's office door alternates between being open and closed in different shots.
Jerry: Rules are intended to impose order on chaos, your Honor. But if they're written too narrowly, they can fail to accommodate unforeseen circumstances. They can cause unintended consequences.
Judge Farnsworth: You think I'm demented. (no response from Kellerman) Oh, be polite! How about eccentric? Jerry: Okay. Judge Farnsworth: Is it the gun or the rules? Jerry: Both, I guess. Judge Farnsworth: You know what they have in common? Jerry: Iron-clad. Judge Farnsworth: Hey, that's pretty good. No. They both demand respect.
Nick: The most dangerous creature on the planet is a helpful woman, Marcus.
Marcus: We have an obligation to the victim, Nick. Nick: I agree. So go forth and punish the wicked. But do it without a trial.
Jerry: Promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep. Those are famous lines from Robert Frost's poem "Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening".
