  • A lame head chef with no personality, assistants that shine more than the head chef and a "blind" restaurant owner with no balls.

I had yet to be disappointed by any of Chef Ramsay's shows currently showing on BBC America. That is...until this episode. It was so obvious that Richard was ineffective as a head chef. When Chef Ramsay gave him the night off and the others performed brilliantly while he was away, it just proved to me that it wasn't the workers who were the problem...it was Richard who failed to motivate them. I could look at the guy and just tell what a joke he was. Sure he was good at yelling out things to the crew but he gave them no direction. I'll admit that I'm all for sex jokes and crude remarks...I don't believe in sexual harrassment because women like men like to give as good as they get. Any woman who sobs because a man made a comment about her breasts or her behind should suck it up and stop being so sensitive. Women have been known to be just as bad as men when it comes to making off color comments about the opposite sex. THAT BEING SAID...while I don't give a rat's a$$ about the comments, the fact that Richard knew he was going to be filmed, he should have kept some of his comments to himself...the whole "It's like sex on a spoon..." was revealing as to the kind of person he is. The problem I had with Chef Ramsay is that he should have opened Neil's eyes. I don't mean to say he should have straight out said he needed to get rid of him but he should have guided Neil so he could see for himself that Richard is not needed in the kitchen. Neil is essentially wasting his money when he pays Richard. I wonder if Richard is still there given that this episode was from 2004 (in the UK) and I've only seen it this year (2006). If anyone reading this knows (because there is no mention of staff on their website) please send me a PM and let me know. Thanks!

In all, still a very good show. Chef Ramsay knows how to kick a$$...and this episode was like...sex on my telly.moreless
