    • NOTES (4)

      • This episode marks the first appearance of Mousse. The kanji in Mousse's name can be translated to mean "wash or thread," which has no significance. The real joke behind Mousse's name is that all the Chinese characters in the Ranma 1/2 series are named after beauty products, such as Cologne and Shampoo.

      • The Japanese title of this episode is "Hakushou no otoko, Mousse toujou."

      • In the manga, when Mousse makes his initial entrance, he slices apart a massive cylinder of concrete, only to have both halves fall on his head. Here, he extracts a bowl of ramen from its takeout delivery box and performs an acrobatic routine without spilling a drop... before hungrily eating it.

      • Mousse is a master of hidden weapons, favoring throwing knives, weapons on chains, and a child's port-a-potty.
