Shiba is painting the house where Haru and his sister grew up in. Cattleya asks Shiba why he became the Rave Master. He then explains to the time when Leagrove and Symphonia were at war in the uprising of the Darkbring. Shiba was just a normal soldier who had no respect for anything. Then one day he saw Resha Valentine dance near a fountain in town. The day after, she requested that Shiba become the guard protecting her while she's creating HolyBring; the counter against Darkbring. Though in the process, she passed away, inheriting HolyBring to Shiba. Shiba then gave up his selfish ways and journeyed out into the world in order to fullfill Resha's wish. Shiba then reveals that he renamed HolyBring into Rave so that no one will forget Resha Valentine.
You know those episodes when twenty minutes feels more like an hour? This is one of those episodes. It felt like I was watching an hour special, but it was just really in half that time. This is definitely one of the better character pasts episodes I've seen so far. It's amazing that they achieved the amount they did in just twenty minutes. It really wasn't anything tearjerking, but it was just great. Seeing the Azure 4 and Musica in their prime years was also a treat. There's little that I don't like about this episode aside that it didn't last any longer, but I feel like if it spanned into two episodes, its glory would also have been stretched and halved.moreless
