Episode Summary

While Elie is off getting her "Tonfa Blasters" upgraded, she is taken hostage by Lance. When Musica tries to intervene, he is unsuccessful in his attempt to rescue her. Lance tells him to find the Rave Master and bring him to Lance's house. Old Musica is still having a hard time believing that Haru is actually the new Rave Master. Haru recalls the day he first met Shiba. Shiba tells Haru the history of the Rave Stones. Old Musica still refuses to work on the sword. His motives are not exactly clear. Musica finds Haru and tells him of Elie's kidnapping. Old Musica knows that Haru will need his sword in order to defeat Lance, so he agrees to fire up his furnace one last time.moreless

    Musica tells Haru that he was tricked, and the old man he went to was a fake that worked for Demon Card. Haru doesn't believe he was fake, and went off to the old man's house to confirm if it's true or not. The old man however, is not fully convinced that Haru really received his giant sword from Shiba himself. Though when he tells them the story of when they first met, he was convinced, but still not motivated to help the boy. Then, Musica rushes in, warning Haru that Elie was captured by Lance who has a darkbring power that can send wolves out of his sword. Haru was prepared to fight with a broken sword, but Musica, the old man, was inspired by his will to save Elie, and decided to fix Haru's sword. The old man Musica is actually Musica!

    There are three things that I watch a shounen for. One, that's for the prefights and the build up towards them. There's nothing more pleasing than seeing an anticipated fight that had so much story behind it. Two, the fights themselves. All that awesome anticipation is finally released into a fight, and even if the fight is mediocre, the fact that two certain characters are fighting make it awesome. The final reason is for flashbacks and story. The flashback sequences in this episode aren't on par with Japan's other more popular shounen, but it's still exceptional. Haru, being the airhead he is, meets Shiba in a rather bizarre way that makes it likeable and funny. The episode is pretty funny too. It also reveals how Haru got Rave from Shiba, but don't expect any deep twists.

    • In the Manga, Haru and Musica witness Elie's kidnapping, but in the anime only Musica sees it. Edit
    • Weird - When Elie is in the shop talking to the punk in the shop, he is reading a news paper and you can see smoke comming from behind it (because he is smoking) However when the screen goes back to Elie talking to him again, the punk doesn't have a cigarette in his mouth? (This was shown in both the dub and the original) Edit
    • When Musica finds Elie being grabbed by lance the dub shows lance swinging his sword and then Musica runs up to him saying "Bring it on beasty boy" then it shows Musica and haru talking at his house, in the original after musica runs up to lance he then gets attacked by the beasts (In the dub this happens after the conversation with Haru and Musica) Edit
