Remember that giant talking bear we met earlier in the arc? You also remember that create that attacked Haru when he opened the door to Rave? Guess what, they're the same person! And even thoug he is a bear, he was once a person; a human known as Gearhound who has served under the command of Rave Master Shiva. He was one of the Soutain Swordsman; four legendary swordsman that were ranked highly in the kingdom of Symphonia, now deceased souls who have taken the form of animals in order to protect the scattered Raves. Gearhound trusted Haru enough to lend him the Rave of Knowledge. Schneider, who snuck in the Rave chamber, immediately attacked Gearhound. This angered Haru, which forced him to test out his newly acquired powers. Haru was given speed and a new sword called Silfarion that adds to his speed. Schneider was no match for Silfarion.
Gearhound, who has already outlived his purpose, decides to go back to the underworld so he can rest in peace forever. Haru, Elie, Musica honour his death, while Plue continues to hug his leg, demanding him to stay. Gearhound left anyways, wondering the true identity to Elie. The language that Elie spoke earlier was in Symphonian, and according to him, is pretty difficult to learn. Plus, Gearhound claims that her appearence closely matches the previous Princess to Symphonia. Could Elie be a descendent to a princess? The whole funeral was spoiled when Shuyda and co. arrive.
This episode had its ups and downs. Its ups is its progressing story. A ton of information was indeed revealed, which just made it more interesting. Its downs though are the lack of awesome battles it could have produced. The Schneider and Haru fight could have turned out interesting, instead it was short lived. Plus, Gearhound promised Haru to fight him when they entered the Rave chamber, but they didn't! And Haru crying easily just made him seem like a wuss. It's okay to cry sometimes, but the way Haru did it, he seemed kind of pathetic. Oh well, the upcoming episode seems promising with Shuyda entering the scene.moreless
