  • Clever story this week

This weeks story has Rowdy Yates taking the lead in a tale involving the little known or depicted "Buffalo Soldiers" of the west. If you are not familiar with them, they were the Black enlisted men that were used in the western territories usually under the command of a white officer. The authenticity of the usage of the Buffalo soldier in this episode was well used and played. This episode will have you following one particular Buffalo soldier that Rowdy Yates has befriended somewhat. The soldier in question kills another black soldier in self defense and takes to running to avoid what might have been a quick lynching. Initially Rowdy joins the Calvary and other Buffalo soldiers in the quest to find this awol and missing soldier. Eventually things take a turn and then Rowdy and the particular soldier are on their own in the wild. The plot at that point takes a few turns that end up showing a great story and tale. I think the Rawhide writers and cast have yet again given us an old west tale worth watching and seeing. Definitely an episode that will not be easily forgotten.
