  • This Reading Rainbow episode truely is a musical classic; one of the best ones I remember watching since childhood.

In this classic episode of Reading Rainbow, LeVar believes there's music in everything from birds singing to spoons tinking against tin cups. You can find music in almost anything at all, especially your own body and voice. I would say that Steve Horelick, who provides and directs the music for Reading Rainbow, realy is a one man band himself.

My very favorite part was the "Onomatopoeia" song. I know that song by heart, and I love listening to and singing all those words like "pop," "crunch," "fizz" and "slurp."

I was lucky to find this episode on video, because I haven't seen it in such a long time. "Ty's One Man Band" is my #1 recommended Reading Rainbow episode to all fans of this show. Let that music inside of you ring out!moreless

    • LeVar: Whether you play a homemade kazoo or a fancy grand piano, whether you're an electronic wizard or an old-fashioned one-man band, whether you play jazz, rock, salsa or your mother's pots and pans, I'm sure there's lots of beautiful music down deep inside you. And it doesn't matter how you play the music, whether you use your fingers, your feet, your voice or by turning on the radio. The only way to make real music is with your heart.

If you like Ty and his one-man band,
Try some other books that are in demand.
      Bet they'll turn you on--Suit you to a "T"--
But you don't have to take it from me.
