  • I like to watch Bill to "balance" my input on current events. What I can't digest is the hate speech that Janeane Garofalo put out on this week's show that ALL teabagers and anyone protesting health care reform are "racist" - really? REALLY? Grow up!moreless

    It is the typical response of someone who cannot win an argument by standing on their ideas and principals to side track the issue with claims of racism. Janeane Garofalo did JUST THAT this week on the Bill Maher show by claiming that anyone who is a "teabagger" or is protesting anything that Obama is trying to force down our throats - is doing so because they are a racist. REALLY? Is that all you have to offer in the discussion? Come on - if you have a principal to stand on - THIS is the time to try and explain yourself. Trying to attack the other side of the argument with a personal attack is NOT winning the intellectual argument!

    This tactic ALWAYS shows the ignorance of the person who assumes that anyone with a difference of opinion from them must somehow be evil.

    I actually like Janeane Garofalo - I think she is funny, beautiful, and I love all of her movies. But she is NOT a political analyst - and should stick to comedy - because throwing around claims of racism so blindly is NOT funny - it shows complete stupidity :(

    Sorry Janeane - I love you babe - but you need to stick to what you know - and SHAME on BILL for not jumping in as an "honest" moderator and correcting her - but then again - former President Jimmy Carter spouted the same BS just a few weeks ago - so maybe they all have the same Goose Step Marching orders.moreless
