  • Bill's right: the opposite of capitalism IS communism

    7.5
Bill Maher was absolutely right: the opposite of capitalism is communism. Unfortunately, he just went on to repeat the same, tired old "conventional wisdom." There is an alternative to capitalism, but only through revolution and communism - and not only is that possible, but it would be a far better world. Check out this short video from Raymond Lotta on "the rape of the congo & yr cell phone" for a deeper look at what this system of capitalism/imperialism is responsible for. (He's also giving a live webcast tues pm, "behind the economic crisis: system failure and the need for revolution" - details at revolutionbooksnyc.org. Tune in and bring your hardest questions.)moreless
  • Alright.

    6.5
I am not a big fan of Michael Moore and John Waters, but I became a fan of Eliot Spitzer after this installment. I did not really know much about him (despite going to college in New York state) outside of the mockery that goes on during Saturday Night Live every week, but the guy does know his stuff. He was clearly more intelligent than the Princeton guy, Michael Moore or John Waters, and actually answered the questions thrown his way (except for the marijuana decriminalization or legalization debate).

Plus, Bill Maher was on top of his game as usual giving a much more entertaining monologue than the other late night yakkers.moreless
