      • Welcome to Lodoss Island
Shiris hosts the first Try to Make The Solemn Guy (Orson) Laugh contest. Parn, Deedlit, and Slayn try. King Kashue arrives with a woman's outfit. None of them win, but at the last second Orson cracks a small smile as he gets Kashue's joke.

    • QUOTES (7)

      • (Groder begins to walk away.)
        Ashram: Where are you going?
Groder: My interests go beyond sorcery. The unusual land formations in the area are most intriguing, and I was hoping to get a better look at them.
Ashram: Well then, just make sure you don't fall off a cliff.
        (zooms in on Ashram's eyes)
Ashram: (thinking) And be sure to give my regards to Master Wagnard.

      • (After Shiris flirts with Parn and rides off with Orson's group)
        Deedlit: (muttering) Why that…
Parn: It looks like something's bothering you. Is there anything wrong, Deedlit?
Deedlit: Uh, oh no. It's just that we elves don't take too well to the desert. That's all.
Parn: I see. Well then I'm really sorry for all those other times that you and I had to go out into the desert, Deed.
        Deedlit: Well, that's alright.

      • (Shiris rides up)
        Deed and Parn: Shiris?!
Shiris: It's really too bad, Parn. Now we have to split up.
        Parn: I guess so.
Deedlit: (jealous) Isn't it time for you to go? You don't want to keep the other waiting now.
Shiris: Calm down, you crabby elf!

      • Kashue: I should have known better than to trust Hobb. He's loyal to his god.
        Parn: King Kashue
Kashue: Don't let it bother you, Parn. All this means is that the number of our enemies has grown by one. Although to be honest, I'd rather not make an enemy of Hobb. Whatever the case, defeating Shooting Star is our first priority!

      • Kashue: (shouting out) We'll launch our attack, here!
Parn: You really think he'll return?
Kashue: Without a doubt. If there's one thing he can't resist, it's human meat on his feeding grounds.

      • Shiris: (to Orson) You could be a LITTLE jealous, you know. A girl really likes to be fought over.

      • Ashram: Aside from the mercenaries Gilram and Smeddy, the others were sent by likes of me, rulers of Marmo, and I don't trust them at all.
Hobb: In that case, you should be very careful.
Ashram: A man who fears petty betrayal isn't worthy of Marmo's crown. That is what it means to be king.
Hobb: While that may be true, it is still the nature of a hero to ignore trivial matters.
Ashram: You're quite right. And a true hero always gets all that he sets out to gain.
