Episode Summary

EDIT
Kryten complains to Lister about being placed in the women's wing of the prison and makes the fatal mistake of revealing he showers with them too. The male inmates want him to sneak in a camera and film them but he refuses. Kill Crazy and some other inmates reprogram him, turning him into a ruthless entrepreneur and he creates "Krytie TV", a pay-per-view service offering "Women's Shower Night" and other events. Lister tries to get Kryten to stop, as he and Rimmer are in the middle of an appeal against their sentences, but Kryten plays a trick on them, getting them to mistakenly trash Ackerman's quarters live on Krytie TV.moreless

The Only Episode In Series 8 I Would Rate Above 8.5. Its Funny Although In Diffrent Type Of Comedy Than The Usual Episodes It Is Very Funny. Highlights On The Episode Would Be - 1. Lister Trashing Ackerman's Quarters

    2. Kryten Wearing A Beard

    3. Cat's Reaction When He Realises They Are Really Going To Show It (Krytie TV That Is)

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Rimmer and Lister discuss the 'Om' Song and Rimmer expresses his distaste for it. However, back in 'Timeslides', Rimmer acted as if it was the first time he had heard the song. Also, in 'Timeslides' Rimmer tells young Lister that he liked the 'Om' Song although you could just say that it was just him trying to derail Lister's hopes of changing his past.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Kryten: Now, we get to (Tim's) quarters through the air vents; I've paid off the guards. Then you make him look like the nerdiest slob in the entire universe. This is what you leave in his quarters: A half-eaten onion sandwich. That's always a passion-killer.
Lister: Is it? I like those.
Kryten: Then there's this: "Morris Dancer Monthly." What a total dweebo nerdmeister he'll look with those!
      Rimmer: They're mine!
Kryten: And then there's these: tragically unfashionable underpants.
      Rimmer: They're mine!
Kryten: And finally: Christian rock music. If that doesn't scare her off, nothing will.
Rimmer: Have you been going through my things?

    • Rimmer: I feel like a man who leaps out of a plane with no parachute and lands in the hot tub at the Playboy mansion.

    • Rimmer: (Describing Lister's flour-accompanied letter) Dear Kris. Sorry about ogling you and the girls in the shower yesterday for three gob-smacking hours of steamy fun. To make up for it, and to indicate how truly sorry I am, here's two bags of self-rising... Something I didn't need any help with yesterday.

    • Lister: Post's arrived.
Rimmer: Good. A bit of excitement.
(Lister holds up a plank of wood.)

    • Rimmer: I hate your guitar! If I wanted to share my cell with an irritating lump of wood, I'd have moved in with an Australian soap star.

    • Kochanski: Well, thanks to Kill Crazy, that was the least enjoyable suicide mission I've ever been on.
Kill Crazy: I was standing there, right, and right in front of me was this weird sort of mutant thing, with, like, two heads and all these tentacles. Yeah, it took one look at me and then ran off! Why d'you think it done that?

    • Rimmer: checking the mail Here's one for you.
      Lister: Who from?
Rimmer: Petersen. My God, that is tragic.
Lister: What's happened to him, has he died?
Rimmer: Died? You think he'd write and tell you?
Lister: No, you're right, you're right, you're right. I'm not thinking straight. He'd be too busy with his funeral and everything, wouldn't he.

  • NOTES (3)

    • In a deleted scene, found on the Season eight DVD, Lister's claustrophobia (from "Duct Soup") was referenced while he was crawling through the vents to Ackerman's room.

    • The episode was originally titled "No Strings Attached."

    • Before the prank Kryten plays on Rimmer and Lister in Ackermans quarters came along, the story was originally going to have Rimmer and Lister's appeal being televised (and rigged to fail) on Krytie TV.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Kryten: You've been Krytered!
While the line is a reference to You've Been Framed!, Kryten's beard, and the premise of his show, is a reference to Beadle's About!
