It is revealed in this episode that David's father, Toumas, has Alzheimer's.
Toumas: We're the guinea pigs in the biggest science experiment ever.
David: Oh, Jesus Christ! You know what, you're right, you're right, you're absolutely right - it's all one big conspiracy, and when I come back I will regale you with the time the Grays came and took me up to the mothership.
Jill: (laughing) Heard it.
David: (in disgust, as he leaves the table) Guinea pigs...
Mayko: Okay, I'm sorry, I have to know - what was he like as a kid?
Toumas: David emerged from the womb fully formed. He was arrogant, brilliant, charming - it's taken him far and it's held him back. And he got it all from me. Let's hope that's all he get from me.
Bob: David, you are feeling guilty about a decision you made years ago.
Bob: It's good that you feel guilty. You do your best work when you're feeling guilty.
(looking at the fish David is carrying)
Bob: Morning. Is that what we're having for dinner tonight?
David: Are you coming?
Bob: Not if that's what we're having for dinner tonight.
(gesturing to the drapes in the new apartment)
Toumas: Oh yeah, those are great.
David: Well, at least they're flame retardant!
Toumas: You just won't leave it the hell alone, will you?
Toumas: This is where I'm going to spend the rest of my life?
David: Not bad, eh?
Toumas: It's a brick box.
David: If you wanted a suite at The Sutton Place, you should've been nicer to me as a kid.
