Reign of Terror from National Geographic is a documentary analysis of Saddam Hussein's leadership of Iraq focussing on him and his party's murderous campaign during his 24 year leadership. The documentary tells of an extremely violent period in a previously glorious country in which testimonials and facts are given about the execution of political rivals, as well as torture and murder of people of differing factions and religions within the country who were supposed enemies of the regime. The documentary is backed with rare and previously unaired video in which Saddam's party members carry out grotesque acts of violence. It's a gripping and often horrifying tale of the victims, most of whom ended up as nameless people buried in mass graves in the desert. Reign of Terror was finalised as Saddam was about to be put on trial for his crimes. It lays testament to the victims who never got to see him meet his fate.
