A businessman (Green) asks Sydney to help him confirm the change in god worship by the indigenous people of a forested area in Washington State. With some misgivings, Sydney and Nigel arrive but face hostility from local police and government officials. Evading them, Sydney and Nigel find a strange metal fragment that confirms the change in god worship. They begin to suspect that the fragment came from outer space. Government officials track them down - to stop any further investigation - but Sydney and Nigel escape with help from the local police chief (Dark Feather). They continue on with their search and find a cave that explains the relic's possible connection to space creatures. Again, they are threatened by government officials but escape with the cave's artefacts. Unfortunately, by the story's end, Sydney is shocked to see all evidence from the cave/metal fragment are stolen from her office...

This episode is different - in that it ends on an unhappy (but realistic) note - that Sydney and Nigel can't fight everyone and win all the time. The story also has a familiar scene - with a female relic hunter jumping into a river to escape officials - looking like she drowned - only to climb out of river alive. This scene was very similar to the one in an earlier episode 'Fertile Ground'.moreless
