  • Stop complaining

Onward and Upward was a great episode for what it is. I don't care how gross it is! It has it's moments. And it's no surprise they're gay. I mean they slept in the same bed in the original. It only makes sense. And

I mostly like this episode because Dr Stupid comes back!!! :D And it's got great jokes. I like the whipped potato joke. And the bathroom scene is cute. If you just ignore the fact they ate boogies and vomit, then it's a great one. I like it. :)moreless
  • this episode sucks.a bad way to start the show.

i certaintly hate this episode, they have attempts to be funny so hard, it's not even funny.the only line i like is,"your pitcher, i'm the catcher".and also, they have ren and stimpy having sex(which is very disturbing).well, i don't blame the creators, i mean, they haven't worked on ren and stimpy for a while.this episode deserves a 1/10
  • This episode is WAYYYYY underrated and after watching it for the first time I.......

I was "shocked" before I watched this episode myself, after reading the reviews and some descriptions on this episode, I thought it would be the most horrible episode ever made!!

-but that proved wrong. after watching it myself I have to say, that this episode is a really hilarious episode!! In my opinion it deserves a better rating- anyways,

it starts off with Ren and Stimpy being tired of living in a man's mouth, so they move "up" to living in a spitbowl, where they start a "high class" living- that means, eating all kinds of "high class" foods, like snot, boogers, etc.

((one memorable quote i still recall, ren saying "Oh no, I forgot the gravy!!" and after that a man throws up))

the episode itself is hilarious, with all kinds of jokes((which i don't wanna tell for the guys who haven't seen it yet))- i mean, the stuff they eat IS pretty disgusting and all(( and i probably won't ever eat mashed potatoes with gravy again)) but all in all, i find this one of the most hilarios episodes i have ever seen in a cartoon!!

and even for the ones who don't enjoy gross jokes, the animation in this episode impresses by itself!!

hope my review was helpful and thankies kindly for reading!! :Dmoreless
  • John pushes the edge early on...

In "Onward and Upward," the first of the Adult Party Cartoon episodes, Ren and Stimpy's new character development has the duo being a gay couple living in a homeless guy's mouth.

In an interview, creator John Kricfalusi stated that Ren was actually bisexual -- he would rather have a human woman, but since he can't, Stimpy's easy. Stimpy is noted as being madly in love with Ren.

The duo move out of the homeless guy's mouth, and onto more sophisticated ground...which, for them is a spittoon in a bar.

Here, John Kricfalusi shows us an example of how the new series will NOT be like the original "children's" cartoon, and how it will be more pushing the edge.

This hilariously sick and twisted episode is pure Kricfalusi. A mighty fine introduction to the hilarious new series.

The "You're the pitcher, I'm the catcher" scene was hilarious. The gross-out stuff really kills me.

I completely disagree with the other critic. This episode is great!moreless

    • Ren and Stimpy refer to themselves as "Renwick" and "Stimpington."

    • While Ren and Stimpy are eating "soup" in the dining room, after Stimpy eats the bowl and soup together, the bowl reappears, filled to the top a second later.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Ren: I'm sorry, Stimpy. I'm just too **** tired. I've got to get some sleep. (starts to go to sleep)
      Stimpy: But Ren...
Ren: (wakes up instantly, very annoyed) What is it now, Stimpy?
      Stimpy: I have needs!
Ren: (groan) I don't give a rat's *** about your needs! (beat) Oh, Stimpy. Close your eyes and pucker up!
      Stimpy: Joy!
(Ren pulls a rat out from behind the homeless man's tongue)
Ren: (to self) Oh, what I'm going to do to Stimpy... (to audience) Look at the rat's ***. (turns the rat's butt towards Stimpy's puckered up lips)
Stimpy: (gives the rat's butt one nice, long smooch and gets poop all over his mouth)

    • Bar Owner: Holy crap! There's vermin in my bar!
Bar Patron: That's disgusting! (sucks in puke that is in a bowl)

    • (Inside the homeless man's mouth, his ulvula goes into Ren's butt five times. Ren wakes up, shocked, and jumps up and yells at Stimpy.)
Ren: Hey! What did I just say? Who's the pitcher?! Who's the catcher?!
Stimpy: You're the pitcher, I'm the catcher. You're the pitcher, I'm the catcher. See?
(Stimpy points to a blackboard hanging on the side of the mouth, which reads 'You're the pitcher, I'm the catcher' over and over again)

    • (Ren kicks the homeless guy in his testicles)
Stimpy: Hey. What did you do that for, Ren?
Ren: You've got to give your house a good kick in it's ball sack before you leave it. It's an ancient custom. Everybody knows that.
      (Ren walks off screen)
Stimpy: Oh, I knew that! (kicks the homeless man in the testicles)
(Cut to an extreme close-up on the guy, who winces.)
