In a very funny episode, Reno 911! took comedy to a whole new level. Deputies Weigel and Garcia are so taken with their favorite star that they eagerly volunteer to take the assignment of being extra protection for Kenny Rogers during his book signing in Reno. The silliness of the show rings true through the episode with Garcia going into get detail of all the \"Gambler\" movies. Weigel dresses up as Kenny Rogers to be a body double to throw off potential assassins. However, their enthusiasm leads to distraction which leads to....
Oswald Patton as \"the Kenny Rogers assassin\" actually gets to Kenny Rogers. He pulls out a gun and utters the hilarious line \"I love you Gambler!\" and then shoots Kenny. Kenny is eventually taken away by paramedics.
As a personal aside, my wife ran into Kenny Rogers tonight. As the store manager of a huge retail store, she was alerted that Kenny Rogers was in the building. She raced down to try to meet him. He was just about to leave the store and she seized the opportunity. As his hand hit the door, she called out \"I love you Gambler!\" from across the store. He turned around with a knowing smile and waved. He rode off into the sunset without saying a word, but he left us with one hell of a story.... but it seems we\'re the only two people that truly think it\'s funny.moreless
