  • Ok so I was only 8, but wow what an adventure.

I can still see that red (Grey, after all it was black & white tv) 58 ford panal rescue truck coming out of the station and flying down the hiway. Seems they always ended repeling down the side of a mountain or off a building to rescue someone. Rescue 8 and Hiway Patrol just lead the way for Emergency, Adam 12 and Dragnet. I wish I could find episodes of Rescue 6, would be great to compare to todays rescue units. Just think 2 guys with old style bunkers, a pair of leather gloves, pomper hook, a rope, a cutting torch, a port-a-power and not much else. Now that was a rescue unit.
  • I cannot write a review on this episode unless there is a way to watch it.

I just joined, and I also remember the "RESCUE 8" series. I was rather young at the time, but remember looking forward to the show. It was a pioneering effort showing the LAFD in its early years. A great show, and I wish it was available on DVD. What caused me to look into was that I Googled Lang Jeffries and Jim Davis. Lang Jeffries' credits included "Rescue 8," while there was no mention in the bio of Jim Davis. From here, I found and joined up to watch some truly classic TV. Keep up the good work.
  • It was a good show that caught the imagination of a young boy in Utah. I wish it were out on DVD.

I think I am one of the few who remember this show. I recall getting very excited when it was on and recall several episodes clearly even though I was 4 or 5 at the time and I watched it on my grandfather's old Black and white set. The rescue truck was cool too and the actors did a good job 'in the drama' department. A couple of episodes stand out in my mind even now because I 'feared' they could happen to me. The first was about a 'old'man caught up in a tree and another one was about a man caught between floors at a construction site, that was very dramatic because of the danger he could 'fall the rest of the way down' if they failed taking one of them with him. I actually played 'Rescue 8' with my Tonka Ambulance and fire trucks at the time. It was a very good show and a good predicessor to Emergency and shows like it. It should be out on video. This was likely my second favorite show at the time the first being "Tales of the Texas Rangers" then the Lone Ranger came in third.
  • Not really a review, but a question. Am I the only person that remembers this show?

First show I remember watching as a child. Loved it!
