In the finale, Amy faces a difficult decision after learning that Jared is only marrying her to get a green card, and then finding out how much she means to Brandon.

Jared proposes to Amy which crushes Brandon, but also Brandon is also suspicious of Jared's intentions to get married in two weeks, a hunch that David finds to be correct.

Amy breaks up with Jared and thinks she might be pregnant, but her family isn't waiting for confirmation before getting excited about a new addition to the family.

Brandon's kiss surprises Amy, which makes Amy rethink her relationship with Jared. This gets Amy's entire family get involved. Also David and Jenn cannot come to an agreement on some ground rules for their relationship.

David is suspicious of Elaine's behavior and finds out she hasn't released her old apartment. David also makes Amy help uncover other secrets their mother might be hiding.

Amy wishes her father and Jared become friends. Alan ends up treating Jared like a son and David isn't too happy about it.

Alan and Elaine are skeptical of Jenn, the new girl David has started seeing, and David begins to believe them. Until she reveals the true reason for her behavior.

Alan and Elaine continue to fine tune their relationship. Brandon discovers David has been bluffing about his job and attempts to help him out. Elaine tags along with Alan to his weekly poker game.

As David moves in with Amy, Elaine and Alan head to couples therapy. David soon realizes they might be more like their parents than they thought.

Alan wants to get Elaine back; When he tries he finds out that she has already men someone else; David and Amy are brought in by Alan to help get Elaine back.
