One down side to a show like this (IMO) is because its an ongoing single story one almost needs to start at the beginning to appreciate it. Unlike your basic cop show or sitcom where each episode is pretty much an enclosed story.

I don't consider that a downside. Thats one of the things I like best about this show, the way it gets more and more intriguing with each episode. A lot of shows that do that, though, usually drag one storyline on forever and you end up being able to predict it; whereas this show moves soo quickly! They burn through good storylines and then they come up with better ones and it always leaves you wanting to see what happens next.

I only meant it as a "downside" for a new viewer who missed all of season one. There is a background that, if you don't have it, makes the show harder to appreciate. I agree with you that its one thing that makes the show good for those who got in in the beginning. Do you think its not "necessary" to watch season one to sufficiently appreciate the show where it stands now?
