Trivia: This is the first episode of the series that doesn't have a voice-over by Amanda Clarke in either the opening or the closing of the show.
The white haired man's NY state inspection sticker is incorrectly stamped - the punch hole is supposed to be on the month the inspection expires, which are on the red borders of the sticker, but his is stamped too far in the center.
Goof: When Lee is arrested and when Daniel was first arrested and again when he violated house arrest, they were sent to Rikers Island. Only people arrested in NYC are held at Rikers Island. People arrested in Suffolk County are held at the Nashua Street Jail in Suffolk County.
Daniel is charged with first degree murder in this episode however, under New York law only the murder of law enforcement officers is "first degree". All other premeditated murders are second degree (Tyler Barrol was not a law enforcement officer).
The pills that Tyler is looking for in his bag is Clozapine, which is an antipsychotic medication used in the treatment of schizophrenia.
At the end of the episode, the letter read by Emily is signed "Fukushuu", which means "Revenge" in Japanese.
The stern of Jack's sailboat "Amanda" is shown, with its home-port identified as "Southampton,New York".However,it is kept docked within walking distance of his bar in Montauk, which is at the opposite end of the Town of Easthampton from Southampton.
Nolan's home in this episode is the same as Naomi's sister, Jen, in 90210.
Trivia: Bill Harmon is Emily's second take down. He was her father's best friend and David Clarke shared with Bill the affair David was having with Victoria. Bill confided in David that he was guilty of insider trading. Bill then gave false testimony pining the insider trading and money laundering on his friend David Clarke.
The main portion of the first episode took place five months before the eventful first scene at Emily's engagement party.
In this the second episode it states that it takes place twelve weeks before the engagement party.
That would mean this episode took place two months after the main portion of the previous episode.
However Emily's arrival at the Hamptons still feelsvery recentwith Ashley mentioning that Emily's meeting of Daniel in the previous episode was the week before.
Every episode (so far) except the pilot opens with the same voice over with adult Amanda (fake Emily) saying:
When I was a child, my father was framed for a crime he didn't commit.
Trivia: Lydia Davis, David's former secretary, is the first person that fake Emily Thorne takes down on her path towards revenge. Lydia gave false testimony against David Clarke at trial.
When Charlotte and her friends go to the Porters' tavern, she asks for drinks with alcohol and Declan asks them for IDs.We learn in a later episode that he won't be 18 for months, under New York law he wouldn't be allowed to serve them alcohol whether or not they had IDs.
Goof: The story opens with an on screen graphic telling us it is Labor Day weekend where we see the murder of Daniel Grayson. The next graphic tells us it is now five months earlier when we see Emily moving into her summer rental on or just before Memorial Day.
Five months before Labor Day would be early April,a full two months before Memorial Day.
Although set in The Hamptons, the pilot for Revenge was filmed in North Carolina and the rest of the series filmed in California.
