Right from Birth: A Parenting Series

Show Summary

Right from Birth: A Parenting Series is an innovative educational program consisting of 12 half-hour episodes focusing on parenting and early literacy. It features child development experts Drs. Sharon and Craig Ramey and Dr. Kyle Pruett, as they guide parents through stages of child development from birth to 18 months and beyond. The opening episode explores the wonders of the developing brain, followed by infant learning and the acquisition of people skills. Subsequent episodes take parents through each step of development as the infant becomes a toddler and discovers the world. Challenges facing parents when school begins, along with adolescent developmental issues of independence and self-competence, are addressed in the final episodes. Based on information contained in Drs. Sharon and Craig Ramey's parenting guide, Right from Birth: Building Your Child's Foundation for Life, the program focuses on providing practical advice on how parents can best prepare children for a lifetime of learning, starting from the day of birth.
