Magicians, Horny Singles, and More: The TV.com Guide to Summer's New and Mostly Crappy Reality Shows (2014 Edition)

The new summer schedule is full of treacherous reality TV; here's everything you need to know to protect your brain.

    • Good, but.....

Brad and Ludacris- excellent judges that offer intelligent suggestions/feedback to the performers. Kesha??? Her comments rarely go beyond "oh, I just think you're so darn cute!". She doesn't belong on the same stage with Brad and Ludracris
    • Disappointed

Sarah Darling has already made it in the country business. I thought this show was for people who were trying to become a star, not ones who were already there. Very disappointed.
    • A Rising Popularity Contest

This is not a singing competition, if it is, it's not a good one. Hence why I rate it 5.

The Voice is a prime example of a good singing competition.

A lot of bias can go into who becomes a "Rising Star".
    • Truly Interactive???

My first disappointment about this show came the second I saw that there were three singers sitting right in front of the wall. As much as they tried to make this show "truly interactive," there will always be judges. Good try, ABC.

The next problem was when a duo came up and sang their hearts out. One of the people that sang is somebody I know from social media and such and, I'll admit, I was a bit biased when she came up. So, it was extremely inappropriate when Ludacris tried to press the down button for another judge, a failed attempt at being funny. This happened again later for somebody I didn't know, but it caused the same reaction. I believe this was very disrespectful of the judges to do this, and probably embarrassed the contestant greatly as well.

My final issue was based on the judges, again. Some of the judges were backing up their decisions with ridiculous, biased reasons. We don't care if you grew up in the same place, or if you like how they look, or whatever. This is a singing competition. Let's be fair here.

On the bright side, at least this show lets you put in your 0.000000000000000000000000000000001% LIFE-CHANGING decision?

PS I voted up for Olivia.moreless
