    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • The preceding episode, "Tampico Raid", was set in 1843. In this episode, Pickalong sings "Buffalo Gals," which wasn't written until 1844.

      • When Shag fires on the crew at Willow's Landing, Grey has Ben use Nora as a shield, figuring that Shag doesn't want to risk endangering the woman he plans to marry. However, earlier someone dropped a boulder on Nora. It had to be either Shag, or Barney... who is following Shag's orders. It's not clear who did drop the boulder on Nora if Shag wanted her alive.

      • As the stolen Enterprise pulls up to Willow's Landing, in the long shot the axe below the pilothouse has the head on the right. When they immediately cut to a tighter shot, the head is on the left.

    • QUOTES (6)

      • Grey: Gentlemen, ante up. We're going to need every cent we've got on us. Carney.
Carney: It's like taking my left arm, Captain. It's my drinking money.
Grey: Don't worry, Carney. Your right arm will make up for it later.

      • Grey: All right, how much?
Barney: Oh, uh, $500. For everything.
        Grey: $200.
Barney: $200 now and the other $300...
Grey: When we reach the boat. Yeah, I might have known. You know, I got some gold fillings. Can you use those, too?
Barney: Oh, now, Captain, you talk like I was greedy or something.

      • Barney: I heard a ruckus. What happened?
Ben: Somebody shoved this thing down a hill.
Barney: I warned you, those spirits wouldn't take kindly to your coming.
Greg: It'd take a mighty big spirit to push a two-ton boulder down a hill.

      • Joshua: Ah, reminds me of when I was a lumberjack. I set a record. I chopped down ten trees in five minutes.
Pickalong: What kind of trees, shoe trees?

      • Grey: Well, what made you follow me?
Joshua: Ah, you're just like General Andrew Jackson was. You're too brave for your own good.

      • Joshua: Ah, you've done a fine job, Chip. You know, that reminds me of...
Grey: I know, it reminds you of the time that you put up road sign to show General Jackson to fight the Battle of New Orleans.
Joshua: Now where'd you find out about that, Captain?
