I thought the episode was a little below average. It had its moments, but the drag racing storyline is a little cliched, and I never really bought into the romance aspect with Maura either.

    Just average by R&I standards.

What turns out to be an illegal drag car race that turns into a murder and even something bigger, the murder victim was Alberto Santana. A friend of Rizzoli' named Giovanni was at the race and recorded most of it on his cell phone so Rizzoli bags it for evidence, apparently the car that Alberto was driving was rigged to explode. Maura and her romantic interest from the bomb squad Brandon aka BT work closely together (yeah Eric Winter Is Hot) and gathers quite alot of evidence. So Korsak and Frost head out to meet Albero's parole officer Elizabeth Keating who seems harmless enough and according Alberto's wife, Alberto was making a new life for him and his family. So Maura and BT are working on the SD card that was found in Alberto' car. so while Jane and Maura are having dinner BT arrives and says they're making progress SD card so Maura goes back with him to the crime lab. So Jane stays behind and Martinez shows up and yeah it might have been good between you, but that's past tense Casey can offer Jane so much more (don't like Martinez at all). So Maura discovers the receiver that triggered the bomb and BT says that somebody at the drag race detonated the bomb. Meanwhile Frost has discovered major evidence from the SD card from the camera in Alberto's car right up until the explosion and when they rewind the footage Jane spots Martinez in the crowd, they take the evidence to Cavanaugh, but they can't act on it until they get his side of the story. As it turns out Martinez is working his own undercover case with Frankie and NY Cop Miguel Ortiz, huge amounts of Meth are coming into Boston via New York and Chapo is running his own Meth Lab from Juarez. But what they don't have is the murderer who killed Alberto, so Martinez and Rizzoli set up an undercover sting to arrest all the players involved, Jorge Vega is the one supplying the Meth. Jorge planted the explosive, they still don't have the killer and the only connection that Jane comes up with is that they all did time and the other connection is they all had the same parole officer Elizabeth Keating. As it turns out Homeland Security has footage of Keating making several trips to Juarez, apparently she was meeting Chapo in Juarez and bringing the Meth back over the border. Keating was the one who killed Alberto with her car locking proximity key which was used a transmitter to set of the bomb. Fantastic Episode Again. Thumbs Up.moreless

    • B.T. Sarron: Someone at the race triggered the explosion.
Jane Rizzoli: Can you give me an idea of its range? (B.T. pauses) Please don't tell me you don't like to guess, either.
B.T. Sarron: Yeah, I actually do hate to guess.
Jane Rizzoli: Well, I won't hold it against you. Ask her.

    • Jane Rizzoli: Thought you said you ordered something good.
      Maura Isles: This is good.
Jane Rizzoli: It's kale. It's that thing on the salad bar that nobody used to eat, but now it's the cool food.
Maura Isles: Are you abstaining from coffee tomorrow?
Jane Rizzoli: No, I'm abstaining from kale.
Maura Isles: No, you have a family history of cholesterol. You need to take that test.
      Jane Rizzoli: You're very nosey.
      Maura Isles: I'm very concerned.

    • Jane Rizzoli: Oh, goody. Giovanni's in the café.
Barry Frost: I'd take him off your hands for you but I hear he's a face licker.
      Jane Rizzoli: Not my face.

    • Maura Isles: Tremors.
Jane Rizzoli: You know it's too much caffeine, Maura.
Maura Isles: (referring to Martinez) It's from him. And I think he's sexy.
Jane Rizzoli: Well, he thinks he's sexy, too.

    • Maura Isles: You really should have a total cholesterol test.
Jane Rizzoli: I should have a lot of things. I should have six months in my rainy-day fund. I should have eight hours of sleep. I should also have a best friend who doesn't nag me.
Maura Isles: Okay, you just can't admit that this is about your coffee addiction. (Jane grumbles) Okay, so, go a day without.
      Jane Rizzoli: Okay. Not today.
