I was able to guess who the killer was seconds into this episode, that is never a good thing, but overall they had a unique setting for the episode with the mock trial courtroom, and a well-written installment for the most part.

What starts out as a mock trial ends in murder with Judge Harper as the victim, she was the Advisor and the mother of Ashley who was participating. There is a discrepancy of 11 minutes from the time Judge Harper left and return to the courtroom, Maura does her usual magic and makes some a few interesting discoveries. Maura finds that the victim has broken ribs and a injection in her neck from a hypodermic needle, so at this stage Judge Harper knew who her attacker was, all of which took place in the stairwell. Ms. Barlow during the interview with Frost and Korsak said that Judge Harper was slurring her words and Maura also said to Jane that the preliminary tests could be from drugs. Meanwhile when all this is going on Jane finds out the Angela owes money to the IRS, so Jane comes up with the idea that it has to do with her father because he probably cheated on their taxes when they were married. Back to the story, Maura has cause of death for Judge Harper, she had very high levels of Ritalin in her body. As it turns out Ashley was taking Ritalin but had stopped and Maura also found out that Judge Harper suffered from blackouts which was due to having narcolepsy which no one knew about, thats why she had kept it a secret (But Someone Did Know). This has something to do with a correctional centre call Starbridge, all the first time offenders had their current sentences extended which is what Judge Harper was looking into. Someone knew that Judge Harper was looking into her records and thats how her files were stolen, so Korsak, Jane and Maura pay a visit to Starbridge. While there Jane has to fake some illness to go the bathroom just so her and Maura have a look around and while Jane and Maura are snooping around, they find some interesting evidence. This so called correction facility has some very hardcore inmates not what you would find to house first timers so Jane calls Frost to do some digging and comes up with some interesting news. Maura finds a whole stash of Ritalin and Jane asks Frost to try and find any camera footage of Judge Harper at the Courthouse. Frost finds what they have been looking for Roger Thorson and Judge Harper were meeting at the Courthouse before the mock trial could begin and they were having an argument. Turns out Thorson represents Starbridge so the team have their prime supect Roger Thorson for the murder of Judge Harper (Very Well Played). As for Angela her debt was paid, so she doesn't owe any money to the IRS and it was Tommy who paid the debt from his lawsuit win. Another Fantastic Episode. Thumps Up. Love The One Liners In This Episode.moreless

Another rich white male murdering a black victim. Really? Has this case EVER happened in real life? All the blacks in this episode are either a judge (not just any judge but one of the very best in the whole wide world), a detective, or brilliant law students. The only reason to watch was because I like Savant, who was a regular in Desperate Housewives.
