Well, the new season of TNT's breakout hit last week was just really dull, but tonight's episode wasn't just dull, it was flat out bad and it left me wondering if the show has any legs or if it was just a one season show. The formula for this show and all procedurals nowadays is some banter in the beginning, a murder victim is introduced, they find a suspect, they get a new suspect, they solve the case and they close things out with more banter. If the acting is good, if the case is interesting and if the jokes get a chuckle from me I am fine with that formula, but unfortunately this episode possessed none of those qualities.

Come on Rizzoli and Isles, you were a solid summer drama last year. Step your game up.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Goof: Dr. Maura Isles determines that the murder victim could not be baby John Doe's biological mother because of her blood type. She states that the baby's blood type is O and the victim's is A and that it is therefore impossible for her to be his mother. This is a false conclusion.

Blood type is inherited and determined by the presence or absence of A and B antigens on the surface of red blood cells. A and B are dominant traits while O is recessive and represents the absence of either antigen.

If the father is type A, B or O then the child could be hers. The only way to conclude that it would not be possible would be if Dr. Isles knew that the father's blood type was AB. At this point in the episode, Dr. Isles did not know who the baby's father was.

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Jane Rizzoli: Do you find that sexy in a woman? Robust reproductive organs?
Barry Frost: First thing I look for. (They both laugh)

    • Maura Isles: (cheery) You know, a stomach's contents are like someone's grocery bag. It's so revealing. It's my favorite part.
Jane Rizzoli: Gosh, mine, too. Except the intestines.

    • Maura Isles: The first recorded use of a medicinal clay bath was in Mesopotamia. It's my gift to you.
Jane Rizzoli: Next time, just give me the cash.
Maura Isles: It's a wonderful way to-to eliminate toxic substances.
Jane Rizzoli: How? I'm up to my neck in toxic substances.
