A solid episode of Rizzoli and Isles tonight. The show proved that it can get dark when it needs to be, but for the most part it was a solid all-around episode. I was a little bit disappointed by how it ended, but I still give it my recommendation for a watch.

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • When Jane stabs Hoyt you can see a white disc below the scalpel under Hoyt's white t-shirt which released the fake blood upon impact. This shot was omitted from the UK viewing of the show.

    • When Rizzoli first encounters Hoyt in the hospital, he directs her attention to a book on the table near his bed, and he tells her how he loves murder mysteries. The book is The Silent Girl by Tess Gerritsen published in July 2011. It is the ninth book in the Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles series of novels which are the basis for this TV series

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Jane Rizzoli: Ok, what's with the show and tell? (Maura showing one shiv at a time to Barry and Jane)
Maura Isles: I just think it's so interesting. Don't you? It's a little like Project Runway. You know, they...they move into the jail, they get the same items, but they all fashion different homemade shivs.

    • Barry Frost:: Price being a dick?
Jane Rizzoli:: Yes. He called me hysterical.
Barry Frost: : I'm surprised his balls aren't in his throat right now.
      Jane Rizzoli:: No kidding!

    • Warden Price: You seem a little hysterical.
Rizzoli: Did you really just say ...(turns to Dr. Isles) Did he really just say that?
Maura Isles: Jane, why don't we go take a look at the body.
Jane Rizzoli: It's a good thing my gun is locked up.

    • Jane Rizzoli: You stole a vial of Hoyt's blood?
Maura Isles: Well... technically, sort of. Gosh, I guess it is stealing.
Jane Rizzoli: If he files charges, I'll be your character witness.
Maura Isles: (concerned) I don't want to get arrested!
Jane Rizzoli: You're not gonna get arrested. Take it to the crime lab.
Maura Isles: I only need enough to do a staining, just to see if cancer cells are present.
Jane Rizzoli: Great. Scientific Inquiry. Not stealing. Let's go.
Maura Isles: (still concerned) You're sure?
      Jane Rizzoli: Yes, I'm positive.

    • Frankie Rizzoli: That's okay. I didn't want to be a detective anyway.
Maura Isles: Then why is he taking the exam?
      Jane Rizzoli: That's sarcasm.
Maura Isles: Using irony to convey contempt?
Jane Rizzoli: Are you trying to drive me crazy?
Maura Isles: No! Wha-what did I say?
