Yes, I agree. This is one of the best season finales I have ever seen! I was thinking perhaps the writers saved the best for the last. It's almost as if they're put everything they have on this episode and seemed a bit laggy during several episodes before.

I don't have any important note throughout the entire season but the chemistry between Sasha Alexander and Angie Harmon. They great friends off the screen. They bring the dialogues to life. I can't imagine how this series would be without them.

Could it possibly be that this series' life depends on them?moreless

i was impressed hugely by this season finale. Rizzoli was a cop to the end to the point that she did what she did at the end. This one kept me on the edge of my seat
  • Not bad for a first season cliffhanger!

SPOILER ALERT! The character development and relationships between the main characters really shine in this episode. Rizzoli and her brother facing his possible death from the two gunshot wounds and Maura having to perform procedures on a live patient were intense and acted with such emotion it made me believe it could happen. Maura bringing her pet tortoise to work because he was ill and his usual caregiver was not available was a stretch though. (How does she cart that thing around?!) I didn't like the "Tommy Rizzoli" storyline though. We haven't heard hide nor hair of Tommy till this episode and he's been in prison and is being released..come on. (In the books he's in the Marines. I think THAT would have been a better storyline than having him be a drunk that hit a priest during his third DUI bust.) If you suspend reality and just watch the show for the entertainment value it is great. In this recession the budgets are low so all of these reviews that focus on the "camera work, editing, et cetera" drive me nuts. Would you rather watch reality shows like "Wife Swap" on your 8-ft TV screens? Stop complaining or stop giving a "1" just because of the camera work. IDIOTS!!!!moreless

I do believe they got me with this episode. I really enjoyed watching this episode, even though I had a huge gut feeling about who the dirty cop really was. I'm sorry to say this, but the chemistry between the mom & dad feels really uncomfortable at times. It comes off like they are trying to click, but they just aren't for me. I wasn't happy when Frankie got shot; I actually screamed out NOOOO. They can't kill him off. Danny's partner bothered me from the moment I saw him react to the news about a witness. He should have been happy, but he seemed to suddenly get tense. I kept waiting for the flip and kept thinking that I maybe I was wrong, but I wasn't. I loved the ending of this episode and am looking forward to seeing next season.moreless

Rizzoli and Isles has had some very good episodes, but they have had some bad ones as well. This was sort of the middle. Anytime there is a hostage crisis episode, and this was essentially one with them stuck in the morgue room trying to save Jane's brother. There was a lot of action, there was a lot of drama, Angie Harmon actually showed some personality, but it was not that good, if I had to be honest. It was all too predictable and to be honest the two of them being in trouble every single week is getting old fast.moreless

    • Jane Rizzoli: (about her brother Tommy) He's getting out early?
      Angela Rizzoli: For good behavior.
Jane Rizzoli: Oh. Too bad he can't behave unless he's behind bars.

    • Jane Rizzoli: Maura, you're staring at Chuck's biceps.
Maura Isles: I am. Females are wired to be attracted to the strongest, most dominant males. It's natural selection at work.
Jane Rizzoli: (grumbling)You're making me uncomfortable. Stop.
Maura Isles: What? I'm just appreciating his sternocleidomastoid.

    • Jane Rizzoli: (making coffee) Marino wants a cup of coffee. There's none upstairs. Guy's a wreck.
Maura Isles: I've tried everything... British strawberries, Fennel, Bok choy.
Jane Rizzoli: Are... are we in the same conversation?
Maura Isles: Sorry. I-I was talking about Bass.
Jane Rizzoli: Oh. You're obsessing over your turtle again?
      Maura Isles: Tortoise.
