The whole cast arrives together in 'The Pit' wondering why they all have been called and not just Adam and Tori. Drew announces that it was discovered that a major Road Rules rule was violated and David is being disqualified from the game for leaking information to outsiders before the show official airs. The cast in shock is then told that Adam will not have to battle it out instead Dan and Shane will battle it out for David's spot. Unfortunately that means Tori still has to fight for he spot and the viewers have shockingly chosen Kristen to go into 'The Pit'. Drew announces the fame is "Step It Up" where they all must stand on a pole for 4 minutes and then step up to a taller pole. Which ever guy and girl who can stand the longest will get the place on the RV. Kristen is the first to fall securing Tori's place on the RV. Meanwhile Shane topples when stepping it up sending Dan back to the RV. Tori is excited to have Dan back on the RV where they head to their next mission- "Drive By". A 28 foot bridge has been connected between two semi trucks that will travel down the road in excess of 50 miles per hour. The goal is to carry large cardboard boxes across the bridge and into the other trailer in the 3 mile road. Drew also lays a bomb on the Roadies telling them there will be one more final pit where one girl and one guy will have to go to battle. The Pit Crew made up of Veronica, Kristen, Ivory, Monte, Shane and Ask.com winner Mike go first and Shane easily gets his box across but Angel struggles to stand in the strong wind. She later drops her box and runs across. The Pit crew is able to get two more boxes in before the 3 mile limit. The roadies are next and Adam and Derek make it across easily but Dan struggles to cross. As the girls wait behind Dan, the wind rips the boxes out of their hands leaving it up to Dan to get that third box across which he doesn't. The Pit Crew wins $20,000 to split in between them. The Roadies must now do the hard task of deciding what two roadies will go into the final pit. Kina volunteers since Susie and Tori both have gone in lately. The rest of the roadies split their votes between Derek and Dan leaving Kina to pick Dan. They arrive at the Pit where they both get to pick a name of the pit crew they must compete against out of a hat. Kina picks Angel and Dan picks Monte. The pit battle is "Code Breaker" where they must transfer a table of letters to another and the find four words that make the saying "Road Rules Viewers Revenge". Monte finds it first getting himself a spot on the RV for the first and best time to do so. Kina in a close finish gets the words before Angel securing her spot. Adam, Kina, Susie, Tori, Derek and Monte all climb into the RV to go get their handsome reward which is a Mazda 3 and $13,333 each in mission won money. We end with clips from the season and everyone happy for the adventure.moreless

David arrives at 'The Pit' to find the viewers have one again choose Dan to face off against him. The challenge is "Balls Out" which we have seen previously with Dan and Monte. While being strapped back to back try to get as many balls in your basket while trying to stop the other from getting baskets in theirs. Dan started out with a really good lead but David came back at the end with a win of 4 to 3. The Roadies are excited to have David come back and their clue is to head to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. When they arrive Drew tells them their mission is to participate in Cirque Du Soleil training. The mission will be split into three parts each worth up to 30 points. They must get atleast 75 points to win the mission. The first is makeup where they must apply their own makeup to match one of characters. The second is Cirque Obstacle Course where they must climb poles and jump platforms. The last event is Pendulum where one guy and one girl must swing out over the theater and at least touch eachother in the middle when they meet. During the obstacle course, Derek tore a muscle in his bicep causeing extreme pain. Adrian their mission coach gives the scores- 23 points for makeup, 25 points for the Obstacle and 21 points for Pendulum giving the team a total of 69 points losing the mission and not booking any money. The individual scores were Susie-14, Adam-10, Kina-11, Derek-12, Tori-14 and David-8. This also means they have lost two missions in a row and now must vote in one girl and one guy to 'The Pit.' The prior night David got Derek and Tori to promise him they won't vote him in 'The Pit.' At the deliberations, Tori thinking Kina should go because she got the lowest points volunteered because she knows Kina will not. She requested that since Derek is hurt and she promised David that Adam should volunteer to go in with her. After consideration, Adam comes around and each of them are going to the final 'Pit.' Who will Adam and Tori face against? Will they win and share in the Handsome Reward???moreless

David arrives at 'The Pit' to find the viewers have picked the one person he didn't want to compete against - Dan. They battle is "Shockwave" where they each have to stand on a pedastal holding a thick rope and they must shake it out of the other's hands. David gets worked at the beginning but ends up working it out of Dan's hands. Susie and the Roadies are worried to have David back because they believe he may throw the missions. Derek goes off on the Roadies telling them they're not being fair and riding David and his backs until they get their handsome reward. They arrive at Stu Seagall Studios to find Drew Bell and mission coach Stone Cold Steve Austin. They state that their mission is to split into three one-guy/one-girl teams and then complete three tasks to get keys that will unlock letters for a puzzle. Susie + David go first with "Abandoned City" where they must run to retrieve a key while being attack be trained attack dogs. David gets there first and goes back to help Susie get her key. Derek + Tori are up next with "The Hallway" where they must craw through a tank full of rats and then retrieve their key out of tank full of tarantulas and scorpions; they both succeed. Lastly, Adam & Kina have "The Cell" where they must eat a bowl on maggots and cockroaches. Kina freaks out but finally comes around and finishes the task. They must now take the 6 letters they unlocked - INRENW and make one 6 letter word and 4 four letter words. Mistakenly, Susie hears "When" and writes it down which makes them fail the mission because there is no "H". The Roadies vote David into 'The Pit' who has a emotional breakdown of all this stress. Susie + Derek arrive at 'The Pit' to find the viewers picked Dan + Veronica do battle it out against them. Both teams are extremely nervous as the road trip comes closer to an end, it will make it harder to get out of 'The Pit' and into the RV to collect the handsome reward. Drew tells them their pit battle is "Knock Out" where the teams will be hooked at the hips and given large bags to use to knock the other team out of the ring first. In a intense battle, Susie + Derek come out victorius and returns to their spots on the RV. They get their next mission clue to go to Qualcomm Stadium home of the San Diego Chargers. When they arrive Drew lets them know it's their next Pit Stop where they have to battle it out with the Pit Crew. Chosen Pit Crew were Veronica, Kristen, Ivory, Dan, Shane and Jerry. The team that wins a flag football game on the beach gets $10,000. Drew introduces football stars - Marcus McNeill and Kassim Osgood to train the teams. While training heated arguments arrise between Tori and Ivory and Susie and Ivory. It seems there has been a battle of the blogs between the cast and now they're face to face it has come to a boil. They arrive at the beach and begin the game, immediately Road Rulers get two touchdowns making the score 14-0. To make it fair, they give the Pit Crew a hail mary which gives them 7 points but it didn't help much as Road Rulers continued to dominate. A mid game colision between Dan, Ivory and Tori leaves Tori sore but she continues the game. The Road Rulers come out victorius with a score of 49-15 adding another $10,000 to their mission bank bringing it to $80,000. They get back to camp where they now need to decide who should go to 'The Pit'. Derek will not be sent again, he refuses so he joins the alumni and votes David in. The roadies claim this is because due to his injury, he couldn't be sent to 'The Pit' last week so its his turn this week. Who will David face in 'The Pit'? Dan, Shane, Monte or Jerry? Derek arrives at 'The Pit' to find the viewers have chosen Dan to face him. Drew announces that the pit battle is "Grip Breaker" which is the same pit battle that Susie let Angel win. Both guys will hold onto a two foot rope and the first to rip the rope out of the other's hands wins the spot on the RV. In an all out battle, Derek comes out victorious sending Dan back to 'The Pit'. The Roadies are happy to see Derek waiting to be picked up and they immediately get their clue that tells them to "Drop In" to Woodward Park in Tehachapi. Derek immediately knows that "drop in" is a term to win someone goes down a half pipe ramp on a bike or skates. They arrive to find Drew who introduces their mission coaches - TJ Lavin (pro biker and host of the RW/RR Challenges) and Richie Velasquez (Pro inline Skater). They tell them that they will each have to perform a stunt, three of them on skates and three of them on bikes each ranging in difficulty. Each stunt is worth a certain amount of points and to win the mission they have to get over 101 points. Tori starts first on skates with "Stick It" worth 20 points in which she will drop down a ramp and go up the other side placing a sticker on the high part of the ramp. She suceeds. Next up is David on a bike with "Long Jump" in which he will drop down a ramp and then up the other side jumping 5 feet at the top of the jump worth __ points. He fails and falls over the handrails damaging his family jewels. Next up is Susie with "Drop In" on skates in which she will have to drop off a side a large ramp and cross a line before falling. She fails. Next up is Kina with "High Drops" on bike in which she has to ____ worth 20 points. She succeeds. Next up is Adam with "Back Flip" on a bike worth 50 points in which he will run down a ramp and then up a jump doing a back flip in the air and landing a big tank of foam. He succeeds. This leaves the roadies only one point from winning the mission and another $10,000 in their mission bank. Derek is up with "Front Flip" on skates in which he will go down a ramp and then up a jump and perform a front flip in the air and lands back on his skates. Derek nailed this in his practice runs but doesn't land on his skates this time losing the mission. TJ decides to be nice and offers 1 more point if Adam can land the "Back Flip resi" which means without the tank of foam to land into. Adam accepts the offer but can't land the bike losing the mission. Since this was their second loss in a row they will now have to pick one guy and one girl to head to 'The Pit'. David decides to head to the hospital to have his jewels checked out and when he returns he tells the roadies he might have to sit out next week's mission. Susie decides since she didn't earn any points at the mission she will volunteer to go into the pit. She believes that since there is still 4 more weeks left, she still has a chance to get back on the RV if they lose. She requests to have Derek sent in with her since he is strong and the pit battle will most likely be a dual effort. Derek doesn't want to go but since he's voted in, he has no choice. David easily gets the first two drops and secures his place on the RV. He says he was happy the first time he got to go on the RV but now it's not so fun of a pickup. He jumps in the RV and everyone is quiet except Tori. She tells him she was not happy to see the previous weeks episode and how he said she was fake. It results in a all out screaming match with Susie telling him he will be going into 'The Pit' each week with that attitude and Tori crying. David apologizes for calling her names. They start the challenge and Derek is off to a good start when Dan accidently pokes Derek in the eye badly. Derek goes down but soon recovers to beat Dan and take his spot on the RV. Tori wishes Dan will return so she can patch things up with him. When the roadies see Derek has won they decide to make him get naked before allowing him on the RV. They get a clue that their next mission is at Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark, CA. That night Adam tells David they will probably vote him into the pit regardless what happens at the mission. The roadies believe they have all volunteered once for the pit and the newbies should volunteer as well. David is furious and feels he doesn't even want to help win the missions since he can go back to the pit crew and not even get to share in it. Russell Blades tells them they must pull 13 different items by tractor and chain out of a mud pit. They suceed barely and win another $10,000 to their mission bank bringing the mission bank total to $70,000. David is voted into the pit and must face either Jerry, Monte, Shane or Dan.moreless

All four will be tied together around the waist and they must work in teams to get their flags. David + Susie vs Shane + Angel. David's size alone makes it a easy competition and they win. The RV arrives to pick up a joking naked David and Susie. David is estatic to finally be a Roadie. Dan and Tori take some time to read the mtv.com boards. We learn that Dan really likes Tori but Tori is all about flirting and teasing Dan. They arrive in Bridgeport, CA for their next mission - Marine Search and Rescut which involves two seperate challenges. The first is to climb a large snow hit 10,000 feet above snow level then dig out a avalanche victim and then transport him down to a emergency transport vehicle which they barely suceed. The second part is to have 4 roadies fall into freezing water and then self rescue themselves. Adam, Dan, David and Tori all volunteer and the all make it out but state that it's one of the hardest things they ever had to do. They past their mission winning another $10,000 bringing the mission bank to $60,000. Later that night, Dan talks about his past relationships and says he doesn't believe women really like the nice guys in which Tori believes he was directing his anger toward her. They decide to hash out their feelings where they both agree they will only be good friends. Tori is tired of being "Dan and Tori" and just really wants to be seen as an individual. The following day they need to determine who will be going to 'The Pit'. Dan feels he's ready and volunteers. With their legs shackled together in a small ring they must get as many of their 20 available balls in a fence basket. They battle it out and Adam wins securing his place on the RV. All is happy to see him back except Angel who wishes the 'Pit Crew' could finally out number the Roadies in the RV. They get their next clue that tells them it's Spring Break time and they must head to Crazy Horse RV Park in Lake Havasu, Arizona. When they arrive, Drew tells them their next mission is "Beach Blast". Two people on floaters out in the water must catch as many balls as possible from their teammate who will be sling-shotted out over them. Each of the four shooters will be throwing three balls, the first two being worth 5 points if caught with that last one being worth 25 points. The overall score after all four shooters must be over 50 in order to win the $10,000 for their mission bank. Adam and Shane volunteer to be the catchers. Dan is up first and luckily the only ball they catch is the 25 point ball. Kina and Tori go up next and neither are able to get any points. The last up is Angel who tries hard but the guys do not catch her balls and they lose meaning not only do they do not receive the $10,000 for their mission bank but they must also pick two people (one guy, one girl) to go to 'The Pit'. After the mission they go out for drinks, Angel finally comes around and apologizes for what she said to Kina in their pit. Tori gets fed up with Shane's antics and vents to Dan. Shane supposedly likes to insult his fellow Roadies by calling them what they're not. At the deliberations, Shane volunteers since the rotation would make him next. The rotation would also mean that Tori is next but she does not volunteer. They all feel Angel should go in as she is not stronger than both Kina or Tori. Susie arrives at 'The Pit' to find the viewers have picked Angel to battle it out again. Drew says the competition is Grip Breaker in which each must start on their back holding the same rope and the first to rip the rope out of the other's hands wins. Angel huffs and puffs while Susie thinks it's a piece of cake for several rounds until she just gives up and lets go of the rope losing her position on the RV and giving it to Angel. Back on the RV they read Angel's blog and really hope she doesn't make it on the RV only to find her waiting instead of Susie. Dan and Tori welcome her on as their former Pit Crew member but Adam, Shane and Kina hesitate. They all start talking and Shane comments about how evil the game gets by having it Road Rules Alumni vs Pit Crew but Angel thinks it's a great idea. Kina suggests they end the conversation before it turns into a fight and Angel snaps saying she should just shut up and sit in the front seat. Kina bites her tongue letting her get away with another snide comment. To help get the good karma coming back to the RV, Adam suggests that Angel apologize to Kina for calling a transvestite. Angel refuses and Kina states she rather be a tranny than be an idiot for making stupid comments like that. Angel feels alienated and considers throwing the first mission which would cause the roadies to pick two to battle in The Pit. They arrive at Muscle Beach on Venice Beach for their next mission which is a three event Strong Man Relay. Drew introduces them to John Anderson, Nick Best, and Derek Poundstone who are three of the strongest men in the world. He also introduces Brooke and Davis from Real World Denver who will be watching over the competition. Drew also announces that this is their second pitstop and they will be battling six of the Pit Crew- Veronica, Susie, Monte, Ivory, David and replacing Abram's spot - Derek. The first event is Wheelbarrow Relay in which teams of two must transport sand bags back and forth without spilling. The Roadies take it giving them 10 points. The second event is Power Stairs in which one guy must carry 240 Ibs while one girl must carry 130 Ibs up several stairs. Adam and Tori pull a close win giving the Roadies another 20 points. The last event which is worth 30 points is Car pull in which both teams must pull a Mazda full of people and have a Real World guest sitting on the hood 100 feet the fastest. The Roadies again pull out another win adding another $10,000 to their mission bank bringing the total to $50,000. They must now pick one Roadie to battle it out in The Pit. Adam volunteers himself because he believes he is ready. Angel feels that they should vote even though they all know that just causes friction. Kina arrives at 'The Pit' to find the viewers have picked Angel to compete. She was hoping to battle Veronica but since the viewers are in control she is ready for the battle. Drew reveals 'The Pit' is "Scorpion" which envolves each girl having nine patches on their back and with their right hands attached they must pull all nine patches off their opponent's back before the other. They start the battle right off ugly. Angel claims Kina slapped her in the face but Kina stated it wasn't intentional. After many more slaps and some screams and tears, Kina comes out victorius. Angel is so upset at her lost that she calls Kina a transvestite. Kina goes to attack her but realizes that will be a poor mistake and tells her to have fun in the Pit Crew. Angel claims she only said that because Kina is too strong to be a woman. Kina leaves offended by what Angel said and is sorry that she is a poor loser. The roadies are beyond excited to see Kina back. Dan and Tori tell the viewers that they're only friends even though many viewers wish they were more. Tori wants Dan to have a good time but Dan is worried about his fellow armed forces and believes it's not fair for him to be there having fun when others are suffering; leading him to tell Tori to leave him alone. They arrive at their next mission where Drew tells them they must learn how to drive race cars in six hours for their next day mission. The following day Drew tells them that they must race sprint race cars one lap around the Laguna Seco Raceway in under 2 minutes 20 seconds. They begin the race and all is well until the last hairpin turn where Dan takes it too hard and spins out leading the following roadies to also spin out which makes them lose their first mission and not receive the $10,000 for their mission bank account. Dan feels responsible for the lost and is willing to volunteer himself to 'The Pit'. We head straight to The Pit which airs exclusively on MTV.com. We get some highlights that show Monte and Tori received the highest number of votes for The Pit Crew and Veronica received the highest number of votes sending her into The Pit with Tori. Drew tells them they must battle it out in "Whiplash" which is a reverse tug-o-war to catch a flag. The best of three rounds will make it onto the RV. Tori easily takes the first two rounds sending Veronica to The Pit Crew. The fellow Road Rulers are happy to see Veronica has not come back and welcome Tori with open arms to their RV. The following day they arrive at their next mission - Swift Water Rescue. They must spend the day training with highly professional lifeguards on how to perform water rescue then take what they learn and save their own. Kina and Adam volunteer to be victims as Shane, Susie, Abram and Tori are chosen to be the rescuers. They both successfully rescue their teammates securing another $10,000 into thier mission bank. Back at the RV Park, Susie and Adam have volunteered to go into The Pit to avoid having to vote for someone. Shane believes that Adam has saved Abram's butt as he would have most likely been sent in. When Abram disagrees with Adams choice of sending himself in, a debate arises leading Abram to resort to his Road Rules past and sucker punches Adam in the face. Abram is immediately kicked off the show and now Susie and Adam must go represent the RV and watch two Pit Crew men battle it out for that now open spot on the RV.

      Handsome Reward
      9/27/04
      8.7
The Roadies arrive at their final mission in Bariloche, Argentina and learn they must use two bridges to cross a gorge. Oh, did we mention they are "trick" bridges? Anything can happen at any time! And if anyone is foiled by the "trick" bridge and falls, the team will have a second chance to cross. Once they have completed each stage of the mission, they will have earned their last extreme key and will be given further instructions on where to go to collect their handsome reward. Could this be the first Road Rules team in history to be unsuccessful winning their handsome reward?!''''Patrick navigates the first bridge and does well until he steps on a board that breaks. A few more break and suddenly what seems like an easy task becomes hard. Jodi is the first girl to cross and she doesn't listen to Derrick when he tells her to wrap the rope around her hand so she doesn't fall. She either can't hear or doesn't listen and ends up falling right before she comes to the end of the bridge. This wastes an extra five minutes but she is able to climb back onto the bridge so her team doesn't have to start over. After Nick, Angela begins the bridge and it's not long before she freaks out. She manages to complete it well, though. ''''Next up the Roadies have to cross another bridge. Patrick and Jillian grab onto a log suspended in the air and have to shimmy across it. While barrels swirl across their heads, they must make their way to another plank bridge. While on the bridge, it collapses, but Patrick and Jillian are able to hang on. Once Patrick helps Jillian stabilize her position, they are able to finish this portion of the mission. Angela and Nick partner up and halfway through, Angela runs out of strength, while Nick is frustrated with her negative attitude. The rest of the team is not happy with them. "Everyone is mad at me and no one wants to look me in the eye right now," Angela laments after she gives up and falls. ''''"I don't want to be the first Road Rules group that doesn't get the final prize," Jodi whines. When Derrick and Jodi tackle the bridge, it collapses before they even get to the planks and Jodi loses both of her shoes. They complete the bridge successfully and Angela and Nick have about nine minutes to go again and finish. Nick and Angela struggle, but they make it across the bridge and collapse in each others arms on safe ground. Angela is really choked up and can't believe she completed such a tough mission. All the Roadies are mentally and physically drained, but are glad they will be able to claim their handsome reward.''''The Roadies roll out to a warehouse where the X-Treme Machine is located. They insert each X-Treme key into its proper place, which opens the Machine and reveals car keys to Subarus and tickets to California.''''Once in California, the Roadies are able to claim their cars and reflect on the past few weeks. "All the drama leads up to this handsome reward and I'm damn proud of myself," errick says. "I'm damn proud of these people here with me." "This is the icing on the already delicious cake," Jodi offers while sitting in her new car. ''''From MTV.Commoreless

      Gondola Rescue

As Jillian and Patrick brush each other's teeth, Jillian narrates that at first their relationship was purely sexual, but now that she has gotten to know him, she is falling in love with him. "We have good sex, but it's mostly all psychical," Patrick contradicts. ''''Derrick explains to Jillian that Patrick has a girl back home and it's very possible Jillian will end up getting her heartbroken. Jillian is aware of this, but gosh, golly, gee, Patrick is too irresistible.''''The Roadies' mission this time around is to perform a Gondola rescue high up in the air on a cold and rainy day. The challenge part of this mission is that one of their strongest team members will be rendered helpless. Patrick is chosen to be the "victim" and he, along with his teammates, worry that his talents are going to be wasted in this role. The Roadies take the Gondola up into the clouds and when it stops, Derrick is the first one to traverse the rope to the other Gondola. He comes very close to letting go because his hands become numb.''''After seeing on of their strongest competitors struggle, the other Road Rulers worry that the task will be very difficult for them. From the other Gondola, Derrick yells to the others that they should try and move quickly across the rope. Angela gets lots of kudos from her teammates after she gets across the rope successfully. Jodi is a big motivator and encourages all of her teammates that cross the rope.''''Once all of the Roadies are in the second Gondola, Jodi and Angela repel down to the ground and then Nick lowers Patrick to the ground on a stretcher. Derrick and Jillian repel down to the ground like they are members of a S.W.A.T. team. Nick is the last to repel and his teammates on the ground yell up to him to remind him he must bring the medical kit, otherwise they will lose the mission. Nick brings the kit and once he lands, the Roadies have to carry Patrick to the "ambulance" and woo hoo, they win the mission! The team feels good that they have proved they are strong, even without Patrick.''''After the mission, the Patrick and Jillian drama continues. Patrick shows Angela pictures of his ex-girlfriend, and Jillian, who is sitting nearby, is disgusted. "She knows her f---ing role," Patrick says of Jillian. Next, Patrick makes a call to his ex-girlfriend. This does not go over well with Jillian either. ''''Derrick tries to set Patrick straight and tells him that he's hurting Jillian and he needs to quit playing games with her heart. Too bad Patrick is too drunk to take it all in. "I'll never know what there could have been between the two of us," Jillian laments. ''''From MTV.Commoreless

Angela is on the phone boo-hooing to her boyfriend, saying that she just wants to go home. Derrick does not appreciate her bad attitude and thinks she doesn't care about anyone but herself. While the other Roadies strive to get to know Angela and support her, they don't feel like they receive the same in return. This comment actually makes Angela think a little bit about how her actions are affecting her team.''''The Roadies arrive the next morning at Stunt School. For this mission, they will be doing different types of stunts that involve guns, a mini-catapult, glass and wire work. After they master the stunts, they will have to execute them in a choreographed scene, so acting is involved as well. Jodi giggles while she trains for her catapult stunt and her teammates worry that her acting skills are not up to snuff.''''Angela and Derrick work out some of their animosity while they train for their scene. It's clear that Angela is really into this mission, but Nick worries that her mood could change without warning.''''But it looks like there will be no mood changing. Angela is finally stepping up. She helps Jodi rehearse her scene and also gives other team members tips and advice on their scenes. The other Roadies are impressed with the initiative she is taking.''''When Nick and Jodi rehearse the scene, Jodi is continually told by the instructors that she needs to be more convincing in her acting. Finally each team performs their scene and then hopes that the instructors give them "two thumbs" up so they can win the mission.''''The team watches their scenes on a big movie screen and each group of two receives a "thumbs up" from their instructors, so they pass the mission. Woo hoo! They are on a winning streak.''''That night, Angela calls her mom and jokingly says she is going to be the "bitch" on the show and her mom shoots back, "I thought you were going be the whiney little wuss." Her teammates laugh at this accurate description and Angela even admits that if she had to do it all over again, she would. She is finally feeling like she is getting closer to her team and life is good again. Let's hope she keeps the boo-hooing at a minimum for the rest of the missions. ''''From MTV.Commoreless

After their first day of Face Off missions, the Roadies get their drink on and Patrick decides to teach Mary Beth the Tango, while Jillian looks on disapprovingly. Claiming to not be that jealous, Jillian Tangos with Abe, while Patrick looks on disapprovingly.''''The next morning the Road Rulers learn they will be eating the Breakfast of Champions. Nope, not Wheaties; six raw eggs. They must drink this morning treat as fast as they can. Most of the Roadies do well, and nearly all of them end up puking after they chug the eggs. It's not a pretty site and it's probably not a good idea to go swimming in that lake after this mission is done. Little Miss Cara does surprisingly well, while Angela and Jillian struggle. South Pacific wins the mission.''''For the final aspect of the Face Off mission, the Roadies are taken to a boxing ring where they will fight each other until one is knocked down or decides to quit. Jillian narrates that she is looking forward to punching Mary Beth in the face, while Tina is pumped to kick Angela's pouty little face.''''Tina and Angela face off first and Tina basically whoops Angela's cryin' butt. Derrick and Chris face off next, with Derrick showing no mercy and Chris struggling to keep up. Chris hangs in there though, but it's not enough. The ref calls the fight due to the bruised and bloody condition of Chris' face. Mary Beth and Jillian spar next and at first it looks like either has a shot at winning, but Jillian emerges as the winner. When Abe fights Patrick, Abe wants to quit after he's given it his best because his energy has been drained, but his coach and team encourage him suck it up. In an Oscar-winning performance, Abe, finally falls to the ground and does not get up. South America is victorious and will take home $12,000.''''Back at the X-RV, Poor little Miss-Guided Jillian narrates that she thinks her roommates are great and she might be falling in love with Patrick. The night before their next mission, Derrick gets a little tipsy. Angela senses that he's a lost soul who needs to be found.''''When the Roadies meet up with their mission mayors, they learn they will be competing in a "face off" with Road Rules 12 cast members. The two casts meet and greet and Angela blurts out that Jillian and Patrick have already had sex. Mary Beth thinks Patrick is hottie and Dave reveals that he and Cara from his show are dating and in love. The team with the most points at the end of the competition will win $12,000. The first challenge involves running and it appears that Derrick's drinking and smoking prevent him from doing well at that challenge. Road Rules South America pulls ahead and finishes first, which gives them 10 points. Angela opens up to Chris about Derrick's wild life and asks Chris, since he has been in a similar place, to try and talk to him about getting on the right track and stopping drugs. While they rest, Chris takes some time to talk to Derrick about his past and Derrick opens up as well. Derrick says he can't wait to go home and make his situation right.''''The next challenge involves grabbing a chicken from a pen. Road Rules 13 wins again and now has a total of 20 points.''''The next challenge involves hitting through sticks with karate like moves the fastest they can. Cara gets stuck on this mission because "it hurts" too much and Road Rules 13 smokes RR12 again. ''''The Roadies suspend the competition for the night and hang out and get to know one another. Derrick decides not to drink while Patrick decides to flirt with Mary Beth and teach her the Tango. Jillian is annoyed and thinks Mary Beth is a "hard core bitch." Angela, Derrick, Nick and Jodi talk about what happened the night before when Jillian and Patrick were rockin' the RV. Meanwhile, Jillian is aware that Angela doesn't like her. Angela continues her complain about Jillian at lunch with Nick.''''Going into the "Measure Up" mission, the Roadies hope to start a winning streak and not have to send anyone home the rest of the trip. The Roadies arrive at a hotel fitness center and it soon becomes apparent that Angela is not happy and would much rather be at home than competing in a mission. Her teammates begin to worry that she will intentionally do something to make them lose a mission just so she can go home.''''For the mission, the Roadies must collect sweat off of their bodies and put it into a container. To win the mission, they must collect a designated amount of sweat. Everyone except Angela tries to work up a sweat, but it soon becomes clear that the guys will be the ones who produce the most sweat, so the girls serve as the sweat collectors. "It's a weird thing, having to shovel off somebody and put it into a cup," Nick describes.''''The Road Rulers win the mission, but Angela is still pouting and complaining. The other Roadies believe that Angela is bringing the group down with her negative attitude. Angela claims that she is getting dumber by being on the Road Rules trip and she is not getting anything out of it. Fed up, Derrick decides give Angela a pep talk. He tells her that the team wants to see her do well and tough this out. Derrick also tells her she needs to get over her negative feelings toward Jillian. New girl on the block, Angela, feels welcomed into the group and she is starting to have a good time, especially with Patrick. ''''Before their next challenge, mission mayors introduce the Roadies to their new teammate, Jillian. This newbie says she is a tri-athlete and captain of lacrosse team. Patrick giggles nervously upon meeting her and narrates that Jillian is pretty much bangin' all over. Derrick warmly notes that Jillian is up for grabs. Former flavor-of-the month Angela is not happy that Jillian is younger than her little sister and a sexpot to boot. Jillian notes she is open for hooking up on the trip. Let the games begin!''''The Roadies learn that the next mission involves learning the Tango. After they take dancing lessons, they wonder watch the catch will be that will make this mission X-Treme.''''After the Tango lesson, Angela pouts to Patrick and Derrick about the fact that Jillian can't be her friend because she's so much younger. Patrick has no problem telling Angela that he doesn't think she is as mature as she claims to be. Like, just because she has a job and all, doesn't really mean anything. Guess he forgot how unwilling he was to accept new guy Nick.''''The Roadies finally learn they will be doing the Tango high in the air on a small square platform, with a blindfold on. They will earn one point for every second they stay on the stage. There are 120 possible style points and 120 points for time. They must get 450 points between the three groups. Sounds easy, but little do they know, the style points will be difficult to obtain.''''Angela and Derrick go first and they have a difficult time with style and that's confirmed when they receive only five style points. Nick and Jodi get the full amount of points for time and 40 points for style. Patrick and Jodi must receive 165 points to complete the mission. Luckily, Jillian and Patrick get the full amount for time and 50 points for style, which earns a win for the team.''''After the mission, Angela is still ragging on Jillian non-stop. Jodi surmises that Angela likes attention and now that Jillian is here, the attention has shifted from Angela to the new girl.''''While the Roadies party in the RV, Nick suspects something is brewing between Patrick and Jillian. Angela goes to bed angry and says she doesn't want to hang out with the Roadies anymore. ''''From MTV.Commoreless

Derrick is getting increasingly annoyed with Nick, apparently because of Nick's "stupid comments." No longer the newest person on the team, Nick still feels like an outsider. He feels ganged up on and is defensive and that has apparently made him persona non grata. When the gang goes that night, Nick is the designated driver for the second time in a row. Poor guy just can't catch a break. Desperately trying to gain acceptance in the group, Nick offers to drive to Buenos Aries.''''In the Falling at Your Feet mission, the Roadies learn they must once again pair off into three teams of two. Each team of two must stand on an eight foot pillar, which is attached to a truck by a chain. The pillar is pulled out from under their feet as the truck zooms by. When the pillar is yanked from under them, the two Roadies must land on their feet in the designated area. No other part of their body must touch the ground.''''Angela and Ibis go first and fail miserably. Nick and Patrick complete the jump successfully by timing their "jump" just before the pillar is pulled out from underneath them. Derrick and Jodi also complete their portion of the mission. When Ibis and Angela go a second time, they think they've completed it, but until an instant replay is viewed, there won't be a decision. Turns out that Ibis' booty touched the ground, so they fail the mission and now must eliminate yet another team member. Geez, Road Rules X-Treme is kickin' this teams' ass.''''Nick is worried that he'll be sent home for personal reasons or for just "being the new guy," but he feels good about his performance in the four missions he has been a part of. At the vote-off, Ibis gets things going by voting for herself and gives a speech that pretty much says she is okay with going home because it's the right decision. The Roadies come to their senses and decide not to be petty and Ibis is voted off. The Roadies are in the midst of drawing names from a hat to decide who will go home. Kina's name is pulled twice, so she will be headed home. Kina feels good about the decision and keeps a strong face in front of her roommates, but when she retreats to the X-RV by herself, she has a good cry. Poor Derrick wonders who his cuddle monkey is gonna be now that Kina's off the team.''''Meanwhile, Jodi feels guilty because she thinks she would have been voted off if they didn't pull names from a hat. The rest of the Roadies now worry about how their team chemistry will be affected. Jodi declares she will help fix the communication problem her teammates feel exists. Patrick isn't going to cut Jodi anymore slack. "If we don't win this next mission, it's Jodi's ass," he warns.''''The Roadies pack up the X-RV and head for Argentina and await the arrival of their new teammate. Angela, a girly-girl who has a real job back home, arrives at the RV and hopes to meet some down-to earth chicks and a guy who doesn't want to get into his pants. She has a boyfriend back home and according to her, he's "the one." Yeah, we've heard that one before. Maybe things will change when Angela gets a look at hunky Ben Afleck, er, Patrick. Looking for someone to bond with, Nick takes on the self-imposed task of making sure Angela feels welcome in the group. A working member of society, Angela says she is not used to hanging out with people who are still in college. She hopes that won't be a problem. Angela calls her boyfriend to tell him that the rest of her teammates are very young-acting. The Road Rulers learn today's mission will involve walking a tight rope, suspended 150 feet in the air between two buildings. The catch is that they have to cross all six tight ropes at once, while holding hands. They must rely on each other for balance. Not knowing her new teammates at all, Angela is a "little sketched out" and admits this is the most nervous she has ever been in her life. This is the most extreme thing she has ever done. She has never even played football, for God's sake. During the mission, Patrick struggles to keep his balance, so Jodi takes over the leadership position of this mission and talks her teammates across the high wire and leads her team to victory. Kina complains that Jodi originally said she wasn't interested in Boris and then a few minutes later Jodi was hugging up on him on the dance floor. Kina is not pleased. Ibis tells it like it is, "When Jodi has drinks in her; she becomes a slut." Later in the RV, Jodi tries to smooth things over, but Kina doesn t quite buy it.''''The Roadies will be divided into three teams for their next mission, titled "Leap of Faith." Each team will board a helicopter and be transported to somewhere in the lake where they will see three diamond targets. They must jump into one of the diamonds (the smallest is worth five points and the largest is worth one). Each team will jump twice. The first jump, one of the Roadies must jump blindfolded. His or her teammate must tell him when to jump. During the second jump, the roles will be reversed. At the end of the mission they must have accumulated a total of 40 points. Jodi makes the first jump blindfolded and doesn't get any points. Patrick learns he landed between two targets and didn't get any points. On their second turn Patrick scores five. Jodi doesn't score any points and Kina wonders if Jodi has her head together in this mission. When it's Nick and Kina's turn, Nick scores five and Kina gets none in their first try and suddenly their margin of error has become zero. On their second turn Nick only receives 3 points, which means they have failed the mission. There is no way the rest of the jumpers can earn enough points to add up to 40. They are now faced with eliminating another teammate. They have four hours to decide who they will eliminate. A few days ago, they made a pack that they would put the five original Roadies names in a hat and pick one out and that would be the person they would send home, but Kina narrates that they are contemplating voting Jodi out. Hmm, sounds like the work of shadesters. New Guy Nick is not involved in the voting, while Jodi works to do damage control so she isn't voted out. Finally everyone decides to stick with the original plan and put everyone's names in a hat for the voting. Kina tells Jodi that that they came close to voting her off, but they couldn't do that because she has too much strength and heart, just like everyone else. Each person will choose a name and put it back and the person whose name is chosen the most goes home. They arrive at the mission site where Cristobal and Carolina tell them that the mission is "Go Fetch". They will be paired up for this mission, the goal is while wearing attack suits get the bone out of the dog house while being attacked by professional attack dogs. One person will have to run and then stand in a circle where two dog will tear at them while the other will have to run down to a dog house get a bone and then run back while dogs are chasing them. The catch is the passenger is blindfolded and will be controlling the gas and break while the driver can see and will only be stearing while controlling the shifting and clutch. Derrick immediately says "Earmuffs" and places his hands over his ears. Derrick explains that he does this whenever Danny talks about his homosexuality that Derrick doesn't want to hear. Danny explains that he is insulted cause noone sees him do that when Derrick talks about his girls.''''They receive their next clue that says it will have something to do with a plane and pictures and they must go to the Aero Club de Santiago.''''On the way to the next mission, a sudden crash halts the RV. It seems that Derrick was driving and hit a tree that was hanging over the street. It ripped opened the top of the RV aswell as breaking the windshield. As the tree was hit it also ripped it out of the groung having it land on two other cars. One of the other drivers calls the police which arrive and tell Derrick that he is required to go into the police station to take a blood test to ensure he is not intoxicated. Derrick is upset cause this will mean he will miss the mission.''''They arrive at the airport to find out the next mission will be "Hold On". Four of the five roadies(Derrick not included)will have to fly in a stunt plane why doing manuvers and drawing clues which the puzzle solver will have to use to find the X-treme key. Jodi is chosed as the puzzle solver meaning that Danny, Patrick, Ibis, and Kina will have to fly.''''They each go up and the pilot lets them know that they have to draw a tree, house, flag, and snail. Meanwhile, Derrick is released and is trying to find his fellow roadies. He visits 3 airports and ends up unsuccessful. At the end, the mission mayors tells Kina that one of her drawings will have to be released cause she actually started it before the pilot told her to. That leaves Jodi will one less clue. Jodi is stressed cause she is not a good puzzle solver. She begins and gets all the clues easily but now has to use the clues to find 3 keys and the locked box which holds their next X-treme key. She starts searching and finds them easily giving Road Rules another accomplished mission and a trip to europe for each of them.''''After the mission, they find Derrick back at the hotel which they have to stay in while the RV is repaired. At the hotel, Danny tells the girls that he was upset with Derrick's "earmuff" comments. They tell Danny that he should confront Derrick, they bring him out and Danny lets him know that is mean to make these comments about his sexuality. Derrick tells Danny that he is his bud and that he will stop cause he doesn't want to hurt him.''''We end with the roadies getting a van to temporarily use and clips of each of the roadies putting their own dents in the RV and really hoping it comes back soon.moreless

Derrick really likes Kina and wants to take it to the next level but is still hesitant. Kina really loves Derrick alot but mainly in a flirtation way.''''The following day Kina tells Ibis that Derrick tried to kiss her again. Ibis tells her that she is afraid of intimacy but Kina just wants to go through this trip without a relationship.''''They arrive at their mission where they are greeted by Carolina & Cristobal. They tell the roadies that their next mission is "Don't have a Cow". They are told they will be eating all parts of a cow. They will have to pair up and feed their partner. They must finish their whole plate in 5 minutes, whatever is left over after the time is up will be placed on a leftover plate where one person will have to finish in 5 minutes also. They pick Patrick to be the leftover eater. The pairs are Derrick and Kina, Ibis and Partick, Jodi and Danny.''''They will have to eat 13 parts of a cow-''Plate #1 - Eyeballs. Plate #2 - Brains. Plate #12 - Testicles. Plate #13 - Tail. ''''Danny freaks out at the beginning of the mission before they even eat anything and has problems througout the whole mission. A large majority of what is leftover on the plate is from Danny. The leftover plate is then given to Patrick and he attempts to clean everything off. The 5 minutes ends with a small portion left remaining on the plate. They failed the mission. Danny breaks in tears cause he knows they lost the mission cause of him and he fears he will be sent home if they lose another mission.''''As the roadies were coming home from a club they come across a lost puppy. They think it might have something to do with rock climbing.''''Patrick and Derrick decide to wrestle out in the lawn. They wrestle several times and Patrick seems to beat Derrick all around. Derrick being so wound up picks up Kina and ends up falling on his back twisting a knee that has had past trouble. Derrick is in extreme pain as Kina places ice on his already swelling knee. He wonders how he will compete in the next days mission or any further mission.''''The following morning, they head out to their next city and mission. Derrick is resting with ice on his knee.''''They arrive and greeted by their mission mayors- Christobal and Carolina. They announced that their next mission will be "Living Art". They all must strip down to nothing, shave off all body hair, and then be painted to match a background of the "Road Rules X-treme" logo. Once all painted, they must then stand in a store window for one hour without moving. If a player moves, an additional 15 minutes is added on. Also, if a player does not want to complete the mission, the rest of the roadies will have to stand there for an additional hour.''''Ibis, being raised conservative is already having issues and doesn't know if she will be able to do it while Danny thinks this mission is really xtreme but will be a piece of cake. Derrick is worried that he will not be able to stand still for an whole hour with his knee.''''Once completely painted, they raise the door revealing them to thousands of spectators on the busy street. They comment how that just promotes messing around between the roadies. They are given their phone where they'll receive all their clues and their first clue to meet their mission mayors.''''They go up to meet Andrea and Fabrizio. They welcome them to Road Rules X-treme. This promises to be the biggest and baddest of the Road Rules. They tell them that they need to give up all their money and credit cards. They also tell them that they will be living on 1,650,000 pesos ($3000) in $500 Visa cards for the whole season. They also announce that each mission they win they'll receive a X-treme key which will unlock the X-treme machine that holds their handsome reward at the end of the season. If they lose a mission, they will not receive a key and if they lose two missions in a row, they will have to vote off a team member.''''Once the rules were announced, they were told it was time for their first mission= Volcano Bungee. The long awaited final mission has finally arrived as the Roadies wind down their tour of the South Pacific. Jeremy, who has barely unpacked his bags, waxes philosophical about how the journey has been long for some, but not long enough for others.''''Ready to earn the last piece of the tattoo, they learn a brand new car is at stake. The original Roadies thought it would be cool if they sat up at the front of the RV on the way to the last mission. But Chris and Jeremy are offended that the fab three want to create a division in the group at this stage in the game. Christena is not surprised that the arguing and drama runs right up until the last day.''''At the mission site, they see an obstacle course that looks like a giant suspended puzzle. The Roadies will pair up and must traverse the course. After each pair crosses the platforms together, they must grab a key, which is hanging from a chain, to their Subaru. Of course there's always that--if one person doesn't reach the end of the course, none of them will get the car--thing to worry about. Each pair has two tries at crossing the course and 25 minutes to complete it. After the bickering about who gets to sit in the front seat, Mary Beth is a little worried that they are not as united as they should be as a team at this point.''''Tina and Chris go first and are completely baffled as to how to navigate the course. Chris tells Tina that she's not allowed to cry so she holds in her emotions. Chris jumps onto the first plank and is at a loss for what he should do next. He brings Tina out to the same plank and then makes a leap for the second plank. Over-shooting, he grabs the wooden pole and holds on for dear life, but has no clue how to get to the next plank. Dave and Christena try a similar strategy and fail as well and it's looking like no one is going home with a car.''''While Jeremy and Mary Beth are huddled on the first plank, suddenly Jeremy has a vision of how the mission can be completed successfully and tells Mary Beth that the only way to get across is with a little thing called teamwork. The two use the ambiguously placed wooden pole to swing from plank to plank. Jeremy is the first to grab his key and Mary Beth has to stand are her tippy-toes to grab hers. Now, for the rest of the Roadies, the obstacle is a piece of cake and they all complete it. Chris hugs Tina tight and says that he's really proud of her. They all break out in cheers and hugs after Christena grabs the last key. Dave says he loves Christena and she says she loves him too and he's like a brother to her. Everyone is oozing with sweetness and respect for one another and no one seems to remember the RV incident just a few hours ago.''''As they put the final piece of the tattoo on the RV, they are all feeling really proud of themselves and what they have accomplished. They celebrate with champagne at their campsite. Mary Beth says that they ended with the people they were supposed to end with and she can't imagine life without any of them. Chris says he's proudest of Tina. Tina says that Mary Beth is deep, smart and one of the most beautiful girls she's ever met. She also acknowledges that Jeremy was put on their team for a reason - that last mission. They all clink glasses and toast to an amazing experience.''''Cut to Malibu, Calif. where they get to drive their new cars off the beach. After weeks of fighting, teasing, complaining, punching, winning and losing, drinking, flirting, learning, and eyebrow plucking, Christena sums it up best when she says, "Road Rules is a metaphor for life." Fire Walk

Tina is running her loud mouth off about her dislike of Mary Beth again. Tina admits that she personally is self-conscious, but adds that she doesn't try and be fake or something she's not, implying that's what Mary Beth does. Dave is finally wising up to the fact that Tina is trying to make Mary Beth jealous. Tina suggested the two shower, but he knows this would "cause too many damn problems" in his life. Not backing down, Tina continues to make overt passes at Dave back in the RV. Mary Beth is not fazed by Tina's actions and says she is childish and immature and she's not fooled by her games.''''Tina and Mary Beth rehash the fated dinners with the ever-popular Octave and they begin to fight. The claws start to come out and Mary Beth cuts Tina off and tells her she doesn't care what she thinks. Mary Beth is confused because she says she hasn't done anything to personally offend Tina. Always the peacemaker, Christina recommends that Tina to give it time and then she might feel differently about her.''''Ironically, their next mission relies heavily on trusting one another. Each Roadie is randomly paired up with a partner: Dave with Christina, Chris with Jeremy and Tina with Mary Beth. Ah, the two people who trust each other the least have to work together. It's kinda like "ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife." Both girls are very nervous about working with each other knowing their history, but they know a successful completion of the mission depends on it.''''Jeremy, Mary Beth and Dave are chosen as the instructors and must learn about old Polynesian rituals based on trust while the others wait and wonder about the mission. These rituals include "the challenge of steel" and the "challenge of the invisible wall." Once they have conquered these two tasks, the will learn how to do a fire walk. The "challenge of steel" involves bending a steel rod with their throat. Mary Beth goes first and while she's a bit nervous, she is able to bend the steel rod with the instructor and she is blown away by their amazing feat.''''The "invisible wall" involves discussing the fatal flaws or weaknesses of their teammates. Once they establish these flaws, they devise a way to make sure they help and support Christina, Tina and Chris to get past those weaknesses so they can complete this challenge. They all agree that Tina will have the most trouble and Mary Beth says that it will be important for her to get Tina to display faith in her.''''The instructor trio returns and tells the others that they all have to walk across fire. Mary Beth is being very positive and encouraging all of her teammates. They now must teach the Roadies the same exercises they just learned. Christina, Chris and Tina are a little wary of the steel rod exercise, but they complete it and are shocked by how they feel after completing something like that.''''Mary Beth, Dave and Christina tell their teammates to look within themselves to find their biggest fears. Christina talks about her strong, can-do-anything faade and feels like she always has to live up to it. She says she has a hard time being vulnerable with anyone. Chris has a fear of not being accepted, even though he's changed his life. He's afraid that people will see him as the person he once was, not for the way he has changed his life. Tina admits to a fear of rejection and with that statement she feels relieved that she has let her wall down for the first time in 21 years. Now that the Roadies have discussed their fears, the must face the fire.''''They all can feel the heat coming off the coals and the Roadies are nervous. Tina is the first to go and she says that Mary Beth has proven that she can trust her. After walking over the coals, she squeals and gives Mary Beth a big hug. Christina and Chris also complete the walk of fire, but the mission is not over yet. The instructors must now complete the task as well. Looking a little uneasy, due to this late-breaking news, the instructors prepare complete the fire walk as well.''''Tina provides the same support she received when Mary Beth walks the coals and she, along with the rest of the instructors, successfully walk across the hot coals. Mary Beth is amazed at how close she and Tina have become just in the last few hours. Tina realizes she needs to get to know Mary Beth better and maybe she'll find that they aren't so different and that's why they've butted heads. So Tina makes a formal apology to Mary Beth and tells her that she thinks she's a "cool chick." Mary Beth accepts and they both will go into the final mission as friends. ''''from MTV.commoreless

      Face Off (2)
      9/1/03

In Part Deux of the Road Rules Face Off challenge, Jeremy and Raquel are still flirting. Jeremy is quite smitten, saying Raquel is "absolutely awesome" and he "hasn't felt an attraction like this in a long time." Raquel appears to be batting her eye lashes in the name of strategy. They don't care how it's done; Campus Crawl is hungry for a win after their loss to those city sinners in Las Vegas last season.''''Everyone is getting tired, except for Darrell who is bouncing off palm trees and rocks, playing sneaky-deaky to get a South Pacific sleeper on tape. Twenty-seven hours into this mission, the Road Rulers are told they will have to memorize 20 names of past cast members in the correct order. Campus Crawl has a miscommunication about who is to memorize what and they end up losing this task. South Pacific is now ahead two Tiki-weaky statues to one.''''Chris tells Jeremy that he is very suspicious of Raquel's motives and advises him not to get too close to her. Cut to Raquel telling Jeremy that he can go take a nap if he wants cuz they will, like, both watch each other's back. Finally suspicious of his flirtations philanderer, Jeremy says he's not sleepy-deepy.''''A few hours later, Shane records Jeremy resting his head, but since he doesn't get Jeremy's eyes on video, no one is ejected from the game. It's a wake up call for all. Literally. Then, Jeremy catches Sarah snoozing and Darrell thinks he's caught Dave and Chris on tape, but Sarah is the only one eliminated.''''With five hours to go, the Road Rulers must participate in a spelling bee, but the Campus Crawl gang is now short one of the smartest members of their team. Campus Crawl needs this win in order to stay in the competition. Once Darrell is eliminated from the spelling bee, he goes right back to his videotaping antics and catches Chris nodding off. The spelling bee comes down to Shane and Tina and when she misspells "cemetery," Campus Crawl wins and they are tied with two Tiki-leaky statues each.''''The last game they must play involves questions about things that have happened over the last two days. Questions include: What is the brand name of the pizza they ate? How much money will they receive from Capri Sun if they win? With their mental capacity low due to their lack of sleep, this will be a difficult task for both teams.''''The Campus Crawl team squeaks out a win which makes them victorious in the Face Off. Rachel thanks the South Pacific team for their good sportsmanship and in her sleepless stupor maybe overstates her excitement a bit when she says "I've never ever ever experienced anything like this." Poor Jeremy laments that although he fell really hard for Raquel, he'll never know if she liked him too. Booty hoo. ''''from MTV.commoreless

Chris and Dave speculate on what the new guy is gonna be like and they discuss how the newbie Roadie is basically going to win a prize for pretty much doing nothing. If all goes well, he'll be able to claim his handsome reward in just two missions. Jeremy bounces onto the scene and the Roadies immediately notice a positive vibe to Donell's replacement. He wants to bring "happiness, spirit and energy" to the team. Perhaps a little too excited to be there, the new kid on the block drinks a lotta too much and makes a fool of himself by hitting on Mary Beth so hard that she's actually getting bruises. OK, so that's as cheesy as Jeremy's pick up lines, but you get the picture.''''The Roadies admit that it's hard to trust someone they haven't seen perform before and based on Jeremy's irresponsible actions on his first night there, they are a little worried about this guy. Their clue indicates that they should get a lot of rest that night because they'll need it for the mission tomorrow, but, not interested in following directions, the Roadies end up talking into the wee hours of the morning and don't get a wink of sleep.''''After arriving at their next mission site, they learn they will be competing in the (sound the trumpets) Road Rules Face Off against the Road Rules Campus Crawl team. Campus Crawl is thirsty for a win after an embarrassing loss to The Real World: Las Vegas last year. The experienced Road Rulers greet South Pacific and then get down to business.''''They are told this mission involves playing various games that will test their memory and logic over a 48 hour period, in which they will Not Be Allowed To Sleep (add echo for more dramatic effect). South Pacific should have seen this coming. They freak because they are already going on 24 hours of no sleep. Each team is given a video camera and if they catch someone closing their eyes for more than five seconds, that person will be eliminated from the Face Off. Each time they win a game, they receive a Tiki statue and the team that ends up with the most statues gets a trophy and $12,000.''''The first task has each team drawing Henna tattoos on one male and one female team member. The team with the most creative design will win this part of the competition. Christena jokingly suggests that Mary Beth go topless and let her team paint her breasts. Mary Beth goes for it and it helps South Pacific score the first Tiki statue.''''Raquel from Campus Crawl plots with Darrell about how she's going to trick Jeremy into shutting his eyes so he'll get kicked out of the game. She plans to hang out and flirt with Jeremy and then encourage him to take a nap. You know, they'll watch each others back kind of a thing. But really, she's just looking to gain his trust so she can stab Jeremy in the back.''''The next game has the teams building a house of cards. Once the foundation is built, they must place cards on top of the foundation and whoever ruins the house, loses the game. Sounds silly, but it's really quite difficult. The Roadies are getting tired and bickery, while Campus Crawl looks confident. Chris ends up losing the game for his team and Campus Crawl celebrates while Tina berates her team for not listening to her bark orders during the game.''''With an even score, we have to wait until next week to find out who the big winner will be... Once the foundation is built, they must place cards on top of the foundation and whoever ruins the house, loses the game. Sounds silly, but it's really quite difficult. The Roadies are getting tired and bickery, while Campus Crawl looks confident. Put the Skills to the Test

The Roadies arrive on the breathtaking island of Tahiti. Tina continues her full court press on Dave, saying she's only doing it to mess with him and make Mary Beth jealous. It's clear by the look on Mary Beth's face that it's working. It's clear by the look on Dave's face that he likes the attention.''''Once they learn their mission involves using the six skills there were told to master a few weeks ago, most of the Roadies start to cram. But while Mary Beth works on lock-picking, Donell snacks on Doritos and Tina complains about having to learn four languages. Dave is frustrated with Donell who says he wants to switch his "skill" to pie-eating. Not able to keep his attention for long, Dave is unable to help Donell with his logic puzzles. Tina decides she needs a tutor and a free meal to help her learn French so she hooks up with Octave who owns a restaurant near where the group has been staying and they have dinner. She insists that she is on the date purely to learn French.''''The next night, Octave suggests they all go out dancing. Tina may not want to get in Dave's pants, but she does want to get in Mary Beth's head and enjoys dancing close with Dave. He eats it up. Chris enlightens him later and warns him of the perils of two women vying for his attention. Meanwhile, Mary Beth decides to do a little dancing with Octave to make Tina jealous. It's, like, sooo seventh grade.''''Octave slithers over to Mary Beth and asks her to dinner. Never one to turn down a free meal, Mary Beth agrees. Perhaps a tad bit jealous, (God knows why! Octave is no Russell Crowe look-alike) Tina says Mary Beth is sleazy for going out on a date with Octave just so she can get some grub. Thinking about writing a book called "The Girls Guide to Anti-Date Attire", Mary Beth shows up in a graphic tee to drive the point home that she's only there for the free food, lest Octave get any ideas. Ah, but Octave has a couple of ideas. Clearly not aware of the significance of a girl wearing a t-shirt on a date, Octave gives Mary Beth a necklace and puts his hand on her butt while they dance.''''Junior High stuff aside, it's mission time and the mayors inform them they have two and a half hours to use their skills to execute the mission and win their tattoo. Using a map and compass Dave navigates the crew to the highest point on the island that a paved road can go. Next, Tina must decipher a clue which is in four different languages. She fails and eventually Dave has to help her with the clue. Christena is up next and must interpret the Morse Code to determine which direction they must go. Hanging a left, Donell now must figure out a "word family." He doesn't study the puzzle for long and the Roadies are worried he chose the wrong answer. They run up a big hill only to find out that he did choose the wrong answer, which made them lose valuable time. With 13 minutes to spare, Mary Beth is unable to pick a lock and the team loses their third mission.''''They all agree that it was Donell who caused them to lose the mission. Chris suggests that they decide who they are going to vote off on their own, rather than separating into groups and talking behind everyone's backs. Further expanding their rift, Tina tells Mary Beth that she is thinking about voting her off. Meanwhile, a lot of the team seems to agree that Tina would be going home if she wasn't exempt.''''When they return to the RV, Chris gets the voting started by choosing Donell and the rest of the Roadies follow. Donell, who's been known to shed a tear or two, takes his dismissal really well and says he is happy with what he accomplished. Christena calls him "ill mannered, ill-tempered, vulgar and downright crude" but says that they all love him. Proud that he did things people didn't think he was capable of doing, with only a week or so left on the trip, he says the new guy doesn't deserve his prize. Donell and Tina find out they have a lot in common as they get to know each other. D confides in T, telling her that he thinks Mary Beth is as phony as her fake well, you get the idea. Even though she's only been there a few days, Tina takes Donell's words as the gospel and she says she does not trust or want to get to know Mary Beth. Perhaps Donell is still a little peeved by the fact that Mary Beth wanted to vote him off the island.''''While hanging out at their campsite, Tina announces she is sexually frustrated. Chris is practically blushing due to her straight forward chit-chat. Tina embarrasses him further by trying to figure out how many girls he has slept with. Chris explains that he looks at women differently now that he's "given his life to God." Tina is aptly described by Christena as loud like Cara, yet more ghetto. Chris just wants her to "kick it down a couple notches." Not quite finished messing with her new teammates, Tina decides to "F" with Mary Beth, so she flirts with Dave by saying she'd hump him. Mary Beth coolly ignores the entire exchange and calls Tina's overtures pathetic.''''The Roadies are surprised to learn that they don't get a rest day and must go straight to their next mission. They worry that they will be too tired to do well, but they hope they can step it up. The mayors inform the Roadies that they have one hour to complete a three mile race. Easy enough, right? Of course, it's not that simple even though the Roadies pretend like they think that's all there is to the mission. Here's the real deal: four of the Roadies will lose their ability to see during the race and two will lose the ability to speak or hear, making this event less about stamina and more about communication.''''The teammates must make their way through an obstacle course that contains barbed wire, barrels of hay, rough terrain and water. They are forbidden from intentionally physically touching each other to guide in the right direction. After Donell freaks out at the possibility of wearing a blindfold, it is decided that he and Mary Beth will lose their speech and hearing, the rest losing their sight. Mary Beth assists in developing a highly complex code of claps (i.e. one clap mean walk right, etc.) that they will use to instruct their teammates which direction to go in.''''It's quite a comedy of errors as the Roadies attempt to navigate the obstacle course. During the first half of the mission, Tina screams and yells and complains which makes the difficult task worse. During their halfway-point break, Chris tells Tina pipe down cuz her hollerin' is making it hard for the others to concentrate. They all reiterate the importance of teamwork, but Donell decides to take the break as an opportunity to curse out Mary Beth for not listening to him during the beginning of the race. Way to boost team morale, D.''''The Roadies now have 20 minutes left to cover similar ground they just covered in 40 minutes and Tina is determined to prove that she can stick it out. Knowing that time was quickly running out, they finish the mission but they think they have lost. Tears are shed and the threat of another elimination looms overhead. The mayors finally let them off the hook and inform them that completed the mission with 1:21 to spare and they all celebrate.''''Chris is impressed with the way Tina took his constructive criticism and did well the second half of the race. Tina tells Chris she appreciates that he was straight-forward with her. In the RV, they get a message that they are headed to Tahiti. Tough Tina gets a tad emotional because she hasn't ever had the means to go on a big vacation like this. Rather than force his other teammates to break the stalemate, Dave votes for Cara to leave. Hardly showing any emotion, Cara says she'll pack her bags and Donell starts BAWL-ling. Cara is sure she got the "big fat shaft" but she's not shedding a lot of tears. Frankly, she seems OK with going home with her high heels and the things she learned about herself on the trip.''''Donell apologizes to his team for causing them to go through the vote-off and Christena and Chris make sure that he is aware that he's just been given a lifeline. This makes Donell more determined than ever to prove that he really deserves to be on the trip.''''Missing her other half, Mary Beth bonds with Dave over sushi and a day in the park. Later they get drunk and spend the night in a tent on their campsite. The other Roadies are extremely suspicious about what went on between the two of them al fresco and Donell even admits to hearing some distinct sex noises. Dave brushes it off as wildlife sounds, but he fully admits to having a crush on Mary Beth, yet he says there was no type of sex that went on in the tent. The only witness, a raccoon, who was seen scurrying about the campsite, declined to comment for this story.''''The Roadies relax at their campsite and we finally get to see Dave pluck his guitar strings. But before the whole group breaks into a chorus of "Kumbaya," their new teammate Tina hops out of a cab and is greeted warmly by the group. Tina takes one look at the bug-infested RV and tells everyone she's a clean freak. The other Roadies take one look at Tina and can tell by her attitude and sass that she and Donell are going to be bosom buddies.''''With their new member in tow, the group drives to Queenstown, New Zealand to the Kiwi Lodge where their next mission begins. They are shown a romantic cabin that contains an enormous amount of food. Drooling at the prospect of a real meal, the Roadies learn they have to first spend three days and two nights living outside like frontiers. If they set foot in the cabin, they will lose the mission. Before they are left to fend for themselves, they learn the skills to survive out in the wild like finding food, building a tent, getting water, and making a restroom.''''Faster than you can say "Cara," Tina begins complaining about how miserable it is out on the prairie and Chris becomes worried about how she's going to handle the rest of the trip. Learning she is exempt from getting voted off, Tina playfully suggests that she could walk up to the cabin and get something to eat. Donell is not amused. Despite her whining, Tina seems to mesh well with the group. Not aware of Dave's sushi-bonding moments with Cara and then later Mary Beth, Tina admits that she's attracted to the guitar- wielding guy.''''On Day 2, Chris decides that he's going to choke, er, kill the chicken. The longest Donell has ever gone without eating is two hours, so this will provide the Roadies with some much-needed food and hopefully keep them alert and prevent them from getting irritable.''''Trying to pass the time until they get to eat a slice pizza, Tina opens up about her family and upbringing and talks about how her mom struggled to raise her and send her to a private school. Tina says she is here to find things that she can't do and normally wouldn't even want to do. Christena the know-it-all says she thinks she has a lot to learn from Tina.''''They complete the mission and pig out on an assortment of tantalizing treats. Tina says she never had to tough it out like that before. "What the hell have these people been going through?" she wonders. Initially doubtful, Chris is glad Tina was able to survive the mission. Cara's Complaint of the Day: The RV smells like dirty feet. Most of the other Roadies are tired of her nitpicking and think she needs to lighten up and just have a good time. It probably wouldn't hurt if Donell put a hose to his feet every once and a while too. Always playing both sides, Dave says he loves his roommates, but "some of them bitch so much, I can't even believe it." Translation: "Cara is a bitch."''''And so the unlikely duo of Cara and Dave decide to spend the day together in Wellington. Cara, in what looks like an attempt to flirt with Dave, says today her mission is to get to know Dave better. Aww, that's cute and not bitchy at all. What she doesn't know is that if she fails this mission, Abe will return to the RV. (Just Kidding, Cara!) Dave says they bond during Cara's "mission" and he is glad he got to know her better. He understands her more and admires her for saying what's on her mind. The final verdict: she's one of the "funniest coolest chicks I know" he declares.''''Later, Donell, Christena, and Chris bitch about how Cara adds a huge negative weight to the group. With a newfound respect for Cara and a constant desire for people to like him, Dave defends her. (We like you Dave; we really do.) The Roadies accuse him of kissing butt.''''Smelly feet and kissing ass aside, it's time to focus on the mission. The Roadies take a helicopter to Fox Glacier and learn that their mission is to successfully traverse the glacier by sunset or they will have to vote someone off. Guy Cotter, who has summited Mount Everest twice, is their mission mayor and explains each obstacle they must complete.''''Donell is doing well, except he's moving slowly and the Roadies begin to worry that they might not finish the mission in time. Meanwhile, Cara is doing an excellent job and it looks like she's even having fun.''''The last obstacle they must complete involves rappelling down a crevice and then climbing an ice wall (with only an ice axe) to reach the top of the glacier where they'll finish their mission. Chris goes first and aces it. Mary Beth struggles but completes the obstacle as well. With only an hour remaining until sunset, Donell begins his decent. Nearly a half an hour later, he is just getting starting on the ice wall. Donell knows he's not doing well and while his teammates are encouraging him, they know that they are going to fail this mission. And that's precisely what happens. Donell is upset and very apologetic about his performance.''''Now comes the part where the Roadies stop being polite and start getting real. The "Road Rules" state that the Roadies must say the name of the person and why they made that decision. If they fail to reach a majority decision, they will forfeit their handsome reward and a random person will be voted off.''''Stressed by the importance of this decision, the Roadies scatter to form their opinions. Cara's thinking that Donell should go because he lost the mission for them. Donell is sure he's headed home, but is voting for Cara. Dave leaves the RV to not think about the vote-off. Christena and Chris discuss what's more important, heart or physical ability? Basically it looks like it's going to be split down the middle and it's going to be up to non-confrontational Dave to cast the deciding vote.''''Mary Beth informs Donell and Cara that the votes are basically split right now between the two of them. And the two decide to say a few words to defend their right to stay.''''Donell's defense: I've given my sweat and my guts no matter how injured I was (oooh, crack aimed at Cara!), no matter how bad I didn't want to do it, I've done it. I have a lot to offer as a friend and as a teammate; I've shown that.''''Cara's defense: I think that I have proved I have been f---ing real (oooh, crack aimed at Donell!). I've carried my weight in every mission. Curiously, Cara says these two statements with a huge lack of conviction and even looks like she's about to snort Capri Sun out of her nose. She's either nervous or amused by her own testimony.''''They all vote and it goes the way we expect, which leaves it up to Dave to make the deciding vote. He squirms and takes a long time to give his final answer. So long, in fact, that we have to wait until next week to find out what it is. Damn him. To Be Continued...''''from MTV.commoreless

Cara complains about living in the small RV with five other people. Not enjoying this sort of lifestyle, she is, like, so ready for a hotel stay. Christena reminds her that a true test of a person's character is when he's had everything taken away from him. Cara's secretly hoping that doesn't mean she has to give up her hair spray. Cara and Donell gush about how great it is that they met each other on this trip and how they've helped each other through the hard times thus far. Cue the music: Keep smiling, keep shining... Anyway, you get the picture; schmoopies and hugs are exchanged.''''The next clue asks if the Roadies are ready to "dive into their next mission," so they meet at an aquatic center to train for the next day's official mission. They learn how to execute a ten meter high dive while Donell masters the art of workin' it in a Speedo. Their mission mayor informs them that they will hit the water at about 60-70 miles an hour and there isn't a lot of room for mistakes, one false move and they could get seriously hurt. Chris, phrasing his fear nicely, is nervous about Donell's "agility." Meanwhile, Donell is belly flopping into the pool. Cara is just plain worried about jumping and getting water up her nose. "I'm not a swimmer. I'm not a jumper. I need to blow my nose," she whimpers.''''After one of her practice dives, Cara thinks she dislocated her shoulder, but seconds later the pain disappears. While her other teammates are concerned, new guy Chris isn't buying it. After the alleged injured arm incident with Cara, everyone is a little more timid about jumping and potentially failing the mission.''''Later on in the day, the mission mayors inform the Roadies that Cara's X-Ray shows no broken bones, but she is "still injured." However, she has been given the OK by her doctor to continue to administer hair spray. Not wanting to risk her health (or a bad hair day), Cara decides not to do the mission. Her teammates are supportive, but Chris is very close to questioning her dedication to the team.''''In the RV, Donell bitches to Christena about Cara and how she told him that she doesn't want to be on the trip anymore. He wants to win and if that means voting Cara off, so be it. And if that means telling a few lies, so be it. Cara is unaware that her best bud is going around spreading gossip about her. Donell's vulnerability may be contributing to his disloyalty.''''The next day, the Roadies boat out to a 25-foot cliff where they will be diving into icy waters. Cara looks healthy and spry and is not sporting a sling, but she decides to restrict her arm movement to picture taking only. Judged on a scale of 1-10, they and must accumulate a total score of 35 in order to win the mission. They will be scored on approach, flight technique and entry into the water. They can jump twice in order to improve their score, but the first score will be completely wiped out, so there is a risk of scoring lower.''''After everyone jumps, they are two points shy of 35, so Chris and Christena decide to jump again to improve their scores. Christena manages to garner a seven the second time around and Chris lands an impressive nine and the team walks away with another piece of the tattoo.''''Couching it as "having everything out in the open," Christena tells Cara that Donell said Cara wants to go home and he'd vote her off in a heartbeat. Is it possible Christena just really wanted to spread some gossip to get in good with the Bobbsey Twins? Cara is flabbergasted and hurt, so she confronts Donell. He denies everything and assures her that they are still buds. Perhaps he'll remember what he said when he watches this episode. Video footage is funny like that. On edge since Abe's departure, there has been bickering among the Roadies in the RV. New guy Chris arrives via Taxi as a welcome distraction and the Roadies greet him with a warm welcome and open arms. The girls quickly become "smitten kittens" and are attracted to his boyish good looks, which quickly turns into a "Chris, sit next to me!" situation. Christena is the most excited for the new arrival, because she now has someone to pal around with.''''They receive a clue to their next mission, which brings them to a place called Gravity Canyon. Yeah, it's pretty much what you'd picture when hearing those two words, but of course, there's a twist. The mission is dubbed "Catch Me If You Can." The Roadies will pair up and one person will dangle over the canyon while the other must leap off a bridge into the arms of their teammate. They must be caught; otherwise they will bungee into the canyon and fail the mission. If they don't catch their teammate, they are allowed a second attempt after everyone has gone.''''Chris teams up with Donell and they go first. Donell dangles 280 feet above the canyon while Chris prepares to jump. He gets a running start and leaps off the plank, but does not get a good grip on Donell and plummets to the bottom of the canyon. The Roadies begin to worry and realize this mission is a lot harder than they anticipated.''''Dave is up next and it takes him nearly half an hour to psych himself up to jump into the arms of his crush, Marybeth. Meanwhile, Marybeth is having some back pain from the harness. When she tells Dave that she's hurting, Dave finally decides to jump and is successful. The Roadies cheer the first victorious pair.''''Known as one of the most athletic and confident members of the team, Christena fails on her first attempt to jump into Cara's arms. To be fair, Cara did not make things easier by failing to reach her arms out as Christena jumped. Shaken, but still determined, Chris tries again, knowing that he has a lot to prove to his team since he's the new guy. He jumps and grabs onto Donell for dear life. With two successful jumps, the pressure is on Christena to complete her part of the mission. Extremely nervous and lacking in her usual confidence, Christena desperately wants to make the winning jump, but falls short. The thud of the Roadies losing their first mission echoes throughout the canyon.''''Feeling like she was responsible for failing the mission, Christena apologizes to her teammates, who offer her nothing but positivity and support. But underneath it all, they know that this means they are one step closer at having to face the reality of voting someone off.''''Continuing their warm welcome of Chris, the Roadies throw him and impromptu birthday party in the RV, which makes Chris feel very much at home. Cara and Marybeth tear up and Abe admits he's surprised by how intense and angry he was. The Road Rules producer decides he has no other choice but to send the Montana boy home--Abe doesn't try to dispute the decision.''''Dave is upset that Abe released his pent-up emotions by slugging Donell. Cara wonders why he crossed the line and Marybeth apologizes for any disrespect and feels guilty about being a little harsh on him. Christena says that the way everybody was treating him was wrong. Donell is pacing, still fuming from the incident, and wants to beat Abe's ass. He holds back because he doesn't want to ruin his experience on the trip by resorting to violence.''''Abe packs his things and is choked up as he's saying goodbye to his teammates. He tells them that he hopes that they have learned from this experience and warns them that they should treat the new guy better than they treated him. In his final interview, Abe says that the one specific thing he regrets is not hitting Donell, rather making the comment about cornbread. Abe signs off by saying that "he was pushed beyond normal limits and was victorious and defeated all at once."''''The show must go on and the following day the Roadies resume their stripping mission, but the boys are having a hard time focusing on the rehearsal. The girls walk through town to convince everyone they meet to attend the show. Because they are mostly greeted by blank stares and "no thank yous," they are worried that they won't succeed at getting 50 people to show up.''''At the dance studio, the guys receive their stripper robes, which leaves them wondering what they'll be wearing underneath. After savoring the suspense, Billy finally whips out two tiny thongs from his back pocket and hands them over to Dave and Donell. The guys freak and the girls squeal in delight. The guys have trouble figuring out how to put on the thong, but once they are all strapped in, the dress rehearsal begins and as soon as their robes are on the floor, the girls start howling uncontrollably while the guys dance their hearts out.''''Later that night, they are all convinced they will lose the mission because an hour before the show, the club is empty. Right before the performance, the girls resort to dragging potential patrons into the club (called "Flesh"). Once the performance starts, Dave and Donell toss any lingering shyness aside and throw everything they've got into their dance and the crowd goes wild. The drag queen judges give them high scores and they have no problem attaining the minimum score and they also learn they have enough people in the audience, so they win the mission. Post-mission, Donell, Cara and Marybeth all concur that they probably wouldn't have won if Abe was still around.''''Feeling perhaps a little too comfortable with their barely-there costumes and their new-found stripper fame, the ambiguously straight duo, Dave and Donell, prance around the laundry room and the park in nothing but their thongs. Abe is beginning to notice that there's a double standard emerging. His teammates need him for the missions, but when the missions are over it's "Abram you're worthless." Christina observes that Abe came on the trip very opinionated and when his opinions were not accepted well, he became closed off from the group.''''The Roadies get a clue that some think implies they are going to be in a porn movie. But then they meet Billy, their mission mayor and learn they are going to be taught the fine art of strip dance. To be more specific, the guys will be stripping at a gay club while the girls have to go out and promote their show.''''Donell and Dave are as giddy as a bunch of school girls about this mission, while Abe looks uncomfortable and unsure of what he's getting into. But in the end he learns the routine with the other guys because he knows he must do it in order for them to win the mission. Christina weighs in and says this will be the most challenging mission for Abe to date. The guys will be judged on personality, precision, and creativity. The girls have to create a flyer and make sure at least 50 people attend the show.''''The team splits up and the dance lessons begin. Billy teaches some classic John Travolta moves to the boys who don't seem shy about shakin' it or slapping each other's butts. After the rehearsal, Donell makes fun of Abe and says he's getting in touch with his feminine side on this mission. A heated discussion ensues that is mostly provoked by the fact that Donell just won't shut up. Hot topics such as race and sexuality come up often. Donell says he hopes Abe comes out of this experience with more of an open mind. He calls Abe ignorant and says he enjoys pushing his buttons.''''Dave tries to act as moderator while the two are head butting. But the problem is, Donell doesn't realize he's about to drive Abe to a point of no return. Finally, Donell tells Abe to not talk about s-t he can't back up. This sets Abe off and he looks like he's gonna pound Donell right then and there. Abe leaves to calm down and then re-enters the room, clearly not calm. Poor Dave sees this situation is not getting better and recommends that they separate longer. No one listens.''''Donell continues the pestering, while Abe tries to explain himself and his beliefs. Abe loses it and lets it slip that he thinks cornbread is for lunch. Donell is not amused that Abe "went there," but he manages to stay fairly calm. Abe quickly apologizes knowing that it was wrong to "go there." Abe then proceeds to tell Donell that he's tired of him talking down to him like he's some stupid redneck from Montana. Donell says he never puts Abe's race in his problems with him and somehow Donell thinks that makes everything else he says to Abe OK.''''Finally, Abe can't take it anymore and just loses it. Dave does a noble job of trying to keep Abe from hitting Donell, but Abe finally escapes his grasp and runs full throttle at Donell, fist out, ready to inflict pain. After a few punches, Dave is finally able to separate the two and Donell leaves the room. Abe is nowhere near done fighting and wants to finish what he started. "I already hit him; it's already done," he yells at Dave. But Dave is successful in keeping him from engaging in more violence. Cut to Donell, who is almost smirking about the fact that Abe could be sent home tells his teammates that "quite frankly, I'm pretty pissed off."''''The Road Rules producer tells the Roadies that they need to sit down and talk about the incident and decide whether or not they feel safe keeping the current team intact. He provides us with the kind of deep philosophy that we expect from him: "Happiness is wherever you are." Dave admits that Marybeth wins for "Girl He'd Most Like to Hook-Up with on the Trip," but doesn't want to pursue anything with her yet for fear of that awful, ugly thing called rejection.''''Whoops and yells are heard throughout the RV as the Roadies learn they will be traveling to New Zealand for their next mission. Donell is so happy he's doing gymnastics outside the RV. He says his weight has never been a factor in his life. Then he stands on a wooden beam and it breaks. That's a little foreshadowing, folks.''''They receive their clue which tells them that they are going to be on top of the world. Arriving at the Federal Building (the tallest building in the southern hemisphere) in Auckland, New Zealand, they are told that as a warm up, they must jog up the stairs to the roof where they meet a mayor who tells them their mission is to race 984 feet up the Sky Tower by climbing 1,297 steps and a 145 foot vertical ladder. The Roadies are worried because Donell was huffing and puffing after 5 floors during their stairmaster warm-up. This is the first time the team feels panicked about finishing a mission. They have 75 minutes to reach the top and descend to the bottom.''''Start to finish, Abe is a very positive force during this entire mission. Before the race, Ace is encouraging Donell to stretch and is trying to motivate him to get psyched for the mission. Not long after they start the mission, Donell begins to lag behind. His teammates do whatever they can to help him and they reach the top of the stairs with 49 minutes remaining. Looking at the ladder, Donell doubts he can make it up all 155 rungs. He struggles to finish and to his surprise, he completes it. Abe is at the top with congratulatory words and Donell is very appreciative.''''With 24 minutes left, the mission mayors inform the Roadies that they have two choices: climb down the ladder/stairs or fly down. Figuring that jumping will get them down in time to win the mission, they opt for the express. Before Donell's about leap off the tower, he is informed that they've never had anyone his size participate in this kind of a jump. Nervous that something will snap and he'll end up as a baby blue pancake on the ground below, Donell sucks it up and jumps anyway. He starts to enjoy the fall about halfway down and lets out a big yelp. He's nothing but smiles when makes his touchdown.''''Dave is the last to reach the ground with 20 seconds to spare. Donell grabs the tattoo and everyone congratulates him for a job well done. Abe and Donell even engage in some manly hugging and Donell says he is thankful that Abe was there for him for this mission.''''We end the episode where we started, Dave and Marybeth flirting, this time in a club where there's dancing and alcohol. Nothing worth gossiping about happens, but Dave says he's got some wild oats to sew and he'd like Marybeth to be one of those oats. Wink, wink.''''from MTV.commoreless

Always ready with a quick joke to lighten the mood or a sarcastic remark aimed at one of his teammates, Donell has settled into the position of the resident RV comedian. We learn, though, that he's really good at dishing it out, but positively awful at having it flung back at him.''''The Roadies receive information about a mission that will take place towards the end of the trip. They are given packets that will assist them in learning certain skills which include: lock picking, Morse code, compass navigation, puzzle and riddle solving, fire building, and the Spanish language. They trade the packets around until they each feel like they have a skill they believe they can master. Dave questions Donell's ability to learn logic puzzles, but doesn't say anything to the group.''''In the RV on the way to their next mission, Christina & Marybeth make fun of Donell's manicured eyebrows and his smooth, shaved legs. Mmm, sexy! (If you're a girl!) The girls think he primps too much, but Donell sees it as pimpin.' The harassment gets to him and suddenly he turns into Cher, "It took years to look this good. I ain't stoppin' for nobody." ''''Putting brattiness aside for a minute, the Roadies enter a hut where two Fijian men instruct them to drink from a large bowl. Without putting up much of a fight, the Roadies down the potion, which Cara deftly describes as tasting like poop. Eew.''''After they finish every last drop, the Fijian medicine man breaks it down. He's, like, oh yeah, you just drank poison. And they're like, get out?! And he's all, you've gotta go to the outdoor market and bring back a bunch of weird-ass ingredients that we'll use for the antidote. But hurry because you'll feel like you're gonna puke in a couple hours.''''They aren't given enough money to buy all of the ingredients, so they are told they should bargain and even trade, if necessary. Wasting no time, the Road Rulers begin their mission and Donell resumes his bratty demeanor. He rants and raves, the entire mission, about not being included in the team, when he is effectively excluding himself from the team by pouting. Marybeth and Cara constantly chastise him during the mission for throwing a hissy fit, which doesn't help team unity either. The other cast members complain that Donell did not display the teamwork that he's preached in previous missions.''''With all the ingredients in hand the RRers arrive back at the hut where the medicine man and his assistant mix up the ingredients into a smoothie antidote, garnished with a fish eyeball. They Roadies squirm and squeal at the thought of drinking an eyeball, but do it anyway because they don't want to be sick the rest of the day. They should be thankful it's just a fish eyeball. Don't they remember what the Campus Crawl cast had to eat? Three words to remind them: Rocky Mountain Oysters.''''At dinner, Donell explains to his teammates that he felt that everyone was talking over him and he felt disrespected and that's why he acted the way he did. Still not buying his excuses, his teammates fight with him. Nothing is resolved and questions about Donell and his ability to perform and communicate as an effective team member have been raised. Abe makes halo wreaths for the girls in what seems like a peace offering attempt. Mary Beth definitely sees Abe's actions changing and she believes he's making an effort. Cara is admiring her wreath and upon learning Abe had to go to the hospital because he cut his hand while making the gifts, she snorts, "Well, you shouldn't use butter knifes to cut things." Realizing that was a low blow, she quickly adds, unconvincingly, that she appreciates the gift. Sitting up at the front of the RV with Abe, it seems that Christena is the only one who is making a full-fledged effort to get to know Abe.''''Their next mission involves competing against a 6'5', 305 pound Island Warrior in a traditional strong man competition. Road Rulers must win two out of three events in order to complete the mission. Event number one entails lifting heavy stones onto a platform. The Roadies misjudge their strength and are unable to complete the mission faster than the strong man. They come back strong in the second event and smoke the Warrior in the 800 lb. tire flipping contest.''''Peacekeeper Christena hurls insults and foliage at the Island Warrior while they are enjoying a break--the last person we'd expect these antics from. The other cast members tell her to zip it before the Warrior sticks his 305 island-ass on them! Next we watch the Road Rulers struggle to pull a semi truck 30 meters across a finish line, but they win easily and conquer the third mission.''''At dinner later that night, Abe opens up about his ex-girlfriend, who he calls "probably the best girl I've ever met in my life." But the other cast members can't seem to take this Montana boy seriously, with Cara and Donell bursting into laughter in the middle of his story. Abe is clearly worn down by this behavior. Back in the RV, snickers are heard from the other bunks as Abe complains about his teammates to Christena, who comforts him. ''''The next morning Abe pulls Cara aside to apologize for his previous behavior and to tell her that he's willing to make an effort if she is. He feels like she's jumping on his case a little too quickly. She agrees and then turns into a 7th grader as she quizzes Abe on whether or not he's gonna talk to Donell too. Cuz he's, like, worse than her.''''Abe waves Donell over to the conversation, but Donell, getting a sense for what's up, says he doesn't feel like talking. Cara pleads with him to join them and he finally agrees. Donell shows respect for the way Abe approached him about his issues and says he will certainly try to ease off a bit, but as soon as Abe leaves the conversation, Cara and Donnell bust up laughing. Buried Alive

Abram wakes up with a hangover and it's not long before he starts dissing the girls. His attitude about women in general: "It's a beautiful thing and it's just the hugest pain in the ass sometimes." Christena worries that Abram is too set in his ways, so she gives him a short course on women while they're chilling in the front seat of the RV and later she half-jokingly tells the girls that they each have to take turns educating him. Abram responds with a resounding "Noooo," but even a guy as clueless about women as he is knows that he's not off the hook yet. ''''Abe makes it clear that although people may not like his personality or some things he does, he's gonna throw down and get the job done come mission time. En route to the location of their second mission, the roadies come upon six large Fijian men dressed in black, holding shovels. It looks like the grim reaper has multiplied. Mission mayors Irene and Russell tell them that this challenge involves a heavy dose of trust and teamwork because they are all going to be...buried alive! Dum, Dum Dummm. While most people are afraid of heights or bugs or small spaces, Marybeth says she actually has a fear of being buried alive. Cara is not far behind in chiming in to say that she has a fear too: claustrophobia. The team must choose one "seeker" and the rest will be buried. Marybeth pleads with her teammates for them to choose her as seeker. They all agree and Cara's only stipulation is that she gets dug up first.''''The rules dictate that the seeker can take one other team member with them to help find the other Road Rulers. Each teammate must take note of how they are being led to their grave site so they can use a walkie talkie, while in their grave, to describe to the seeker where they can be found. They have three hours to finish the mission and enough air to last that amount of time. If anyone freaks, they have the option of blowing an air horn so they will be rescued from their coffin, but that will result in their first failed mission. ''''Six feet under, Abe worries that he might not get rescued from his grave because his teammates are pissed off at him. Waxing philosophical, Abe later confesses he wants to see the midget Olympics before he dies. Unable to communicate with Marybeth via walkie, Cara freaks out when she learns that Marybeth has to go after Donell first. But she hangs tight and doesn't let her fear get the best of her. She is rescued second and later even helps to locate Christena. With the help her teammates, Marybeth successfully finds everyone, with only Dave and Abe left. Dave is extremely hot in his grave and suffering from anxiety. He is unable to give Marybeth clear directions, so Marybeth and Christena dig up Abe so he can put his Boy Scout training into action to seek out Dave. With only nine minutes remaining they find Dave, complete the mission and receive another piece of the tattoo.''''Later, it becomes clear that nothing Christena said to Abe earlier has stuck because he's hanging out at a bar after the mission talking about Marybeth's, ahem, enhanced assets. Cue another heart-to-heart in the RV with Abe and all three of the girls. Feeling a little ganged up on, Abe is slightly defensive and although he's also apologetic, it's clear that he's not sure what he is doing wrong. The girls also don't seem to realize that Abe makes certain statements just to get a rise out of them. In the midst of the conversation, Christena teases Abe and tells him that maybe it would be easier if they all died their hair blonde. Abe's response is not exactly what they want to hear: "It still wouldn't work out baby, you'd still be my bitch." Alas, there's no hugging at the end of this heated discussion; the girls throw their hands up in frustration and leave the RV. Abe knows he is skating on thin ice with the girls, but he also knows exactly how to end a conversation he'd rather not be a part of. ''''from MTV.commoreless

      Around the World
      5/26/03
      6.1
It's time to welcome our latest band of road trippers as they embark on the ride of their lives. Abram, a blonde, muscular guy with a boyish face, hasn't known one black person his entire life. He first meets up with Cara, a cute, halter-topped Midwesterner who doesn't really know what she wants to do with her life. Cara reveals that she's scared to be challenged in ways that she's not ready for and expects that this trip will be filled with exactly that kind of thing. "Cara is kind of a girly girl," says Abram. He is quite the astute observer. ''''Further down the beach is Dave who is very anxious and wants to be seen as a carefree guy who carries a guitar. Are guitars like the new "soul patch?" Is it a way for guys to show that there is more to them than the business degree and khaki shorts? Christena is whom Dave meets first and she rocks her own accessory, a cowboy hat. Having grown up in an all-white neighborhood, Christena explains that she's just looking for acceptance and generally befriends those who can deal with her for who she is. And who is she exactly? An aspiring pilot taking classes in preparation to fly the friendly skies. As Christena and Dave get to know more about each other, Cara and Abram row towards them in a man-powered boat, large enough for four. The four quickly exchange pleasantries and then make their way toward their final destination where they meet Marybeth (who has posed for Playboy but isn't an airhead) and Donell, who delights in being the fat kid and shocks people with what he can do. Dave loves that Donell is on the trip because "how many fit, young people can you really stomach?" Indeed, Dave. Indeed.''''The Road Rulers don't have much time to get to know each other as they see their RV in the distance. The RV is cute but it's really small. Cara is concerned about the size of their transportation and how she's going to deal with so many people in such small quarters. Donell tells everyone that he's taking the bottom bunk because he "doesn't want all this man falling on anyone." They don't have much time to think about the confined space, though, because they are given a clue and are told to go to their first mission. ''''The gang makes it to an open field and is going to be welcomed to the Fiji Islands with a challenge called "Around the World." The Road Rulers must climb rope ladders in pairs up a hot air balloon floating high above the ground to retrieve a flag and then make it back down. It's a frightening prospect but everyone is gung ho about it, particularly Donell. Abram and Christena go first and Abram shows that he's a superstar by helping the nervous Christena make it up the ladder. The two are successful on their first attempt and their teammates on the ground take notice of what a good leader Abram is. Cara and Donell go next but with the wind picking up, the course is more treacherous. Donell stalks his ladder like it is his prey. Once up in the air, however, he is unable to balance his weight on the rope steps and falls after climbing just one rung on the ladder. Cara and Donell have shockingly failed on their first try.''''Dave and Mary Beth go next but because of the wind the mission is called off before they can really go for it. The mayors decide to give the teams the prizes, anyway, because of the teamwork they displayed. The road rulers give up their cash, credit cards and the like and are given maps, a GPS system, and the money they will need for the first part of their trip. They are told that after each successful mission they will be given a piece of a tattoo. In order to receive their handsome reward they must complete the tattoo by the end of the trip. To insure that this happens, after they fail two missions, they must vote off a member of the team who will be replaced with a new cast member. Each failed mission after that will require the voting off of someone from the team. The road rulers respond by saying that they will just have to win all the missions. Donell and Cara's faces, however, suggest that they know that will not be easy considering that they really didn't complete the first one.''''Meanwhile it seems that Abram, the great competitor, is also Abram, the great philanderer. Cara is thrown off by his seeming inability to deal with women unless they are potential hookups. Abram has several beliefs about women: first, that the only thing better than bleep is new bleep; and two, that sometimes you need to just let them rant and to listen, or pretend to listen, until they get it out of their system. As the ladies discuss the things that Abram needs to learn, he takes off his shorts and goes skinny-dipping at the Fiji Oceanside. While out in the water, Donell throws his shorts on the RV encouraging the rest of the team to continue with the prank. The team locks him out of RV unwilling to give him a towel leaving him standing on the beach naked. Marybeth remarks, "Well, he does have a nice ass." Just as the Road Rulers are getting settled, The Real World cast arrives and the two competing teams greet one another. Eric is immediately attracted to Trishelle and she to him in return. Trishelle informs Raquel that she's "going to hook up with him. I'm calling it." This connection doesn't go unnoticed by Kendal who is still stinging from Eric dumping her. Raquel warns Eric about Trishelle's man-eater persona. Eric ignores it all though and chooses to hook up with Trishelle anywhere and everywhere much to Kendal's discomfort. How do you get into a house on a floor with a secret code and security all around AND get a picture of a Real World castmember handcuffed to their tub when castmembers aren't allowed to take pictures during shooting?''''The first thing you should do is throw out any plans created by guys named Eric. Hey Eric, the art of seduction only works if your name is Bond, James Bond. We know James Bond, you're no James Bond. So, after the first plan fails, the Real Worlders are aware that Road Rules is in the hizzouse and are on the lookout for 6 kids trying to screw with them. Then comes Eric's new brilliant plan, pretend to be MTV.com staff members.''''Now, let's just take a moment to note that we're really hurt that Eric and Shane think that bandannas, ball caps and cheap laminates are all that's necessary to become a dot-commer. Obviously, they have forgotten how sexy, stylish, and professional (did we mention sexy?) we are. Thankfully security and Real World Producer Tracy were still enamored with the memories of our presence and scuttled away the pretenders. We love you guys but you deserved it. Imitate us? Raquel isn't rough and tumble like Rachel and she doesn't seem to have the surprising competitiveness of Kendal. She's all girl and no grrrl and she likes it that way. Kendal does like that there is a little more estrogen on the trip, Eric seems blinded by her cuteness, yet Raquel's not exactly the wonder woman that Shane, Darrell and Rachel were hoping for. She washes dishes, disinfects the RV and doesn't want to do anything gross. ''''So, of course, her first mission with the team is do what is probably the grossest Road Rules event to date. In the Cattle Cook Off, they have to prepare uncommonly eaten parts of a cow and then eat what they've made. Cow brains, Cow testicles, Cow penis anyone? The girls choose to cook and pull together what is a relatively appetizing looking meal of tacos and pasta featuring the cow parts. The boys must eat it all in 30 minutes. The mix of spice and testes provides for way too many spew worthy moments to mention. Just understand that it was disgusting and the guys were all about upchucking for the duration but they complete it with flare, licking their plates clean with nearly a minute to spare. ''''The girls are then surprised to find out that they have to eat a Cow penis smoothie as prepared by the guys. Its a chunky, warm mush in a glass and the girls have at it. With only 15 minutes to complete this part of the mission, Kendal goes at the penis like a champ finishing with tons of time to spare. They quickly decide that Sarah will be the one to go and she starts to pack. Shane and Eric leave the RV while Rachel and Kendal agonize over what's happened. Sarah tells Rachel she understands even though its not what she would've done and comforts Kendal who, surprisingly, has become her biggest supporter and closest friend. They finally say goodbye to Sarah but her departure has left trouble in its wake.''''Eric's stern stance on sending Sarah home has Kendal rethinking how she feels about him. She expected more from him and she is choosing to shut him off while she figures out how she feels. Rachel feels caught in the middle of a bad soap opera as the two both want to take a break from each other but aren't willing to say it. They finally come to terms with it and decide to break it off. Kendal warns Eric though that if he tries to hook up with the 'new girl' she'll kill him.''''The new girl is Raquel. She's 18 and from Austin, Texas and at first looks it seems as if they have traded Sarah for someone with similar competitive spirit. Where Sarah wasn't gung ho about physical missions, Raquel may be even less equipped. She's a self-professed girly-girl who is obsessed with cleanliness. It proves more difficult than it seems as they have trouble finding a physics professor to jump with Sarah. Which is probably the worst thing to happen as Sarah is gung ho about this mission. She wants to go "balls to the wall" on her bungee. Eventually she finds a physics prof to join in and give us an excellent explanation of gravitational force and kinetic energy that might have been about bungee jumping or might have been his recipe for meatloaf. Does anybody know anything about Physics? So the team completes the mission and wins more prize money but they are informed that they can win some trip money if they complete a mini-mission. Unable to find a dean to jump with them, they go with an athletics coach to get the lesser cash award. Which sucks because they are desperate for some real money. Kendal explains they've been surviving on baked potatoes and not much else and Darrell has taken to rummaging through the trash for a meal.''''Meanwhile, Shane's not confused about his sexuality but everybody else is. Sarah remarks that he's completely homosexual during the day but heterosexual at night. Shane reveals however that it has more to do with just being out of his element and not having other gay men to talk to and interact with. Plus he came out to his parents right before he left for this trip and dealing with that is adding tension and frustration in his life. And it probably doesn't help matters much that Darrell doesn't consider him his friend because Shane is gay. The two get the chance to bond a bit though when they both enter a strip contest at a gay club. The goal is to make some money and the 200 dollar 1st place prize is enough for Darrell to get past his homophobia for a night. They enter Tulane University and are greeted by James from Road Rules Maximum Velocity Tour. He informs them that in order to join the Fraternal Order of Road Rules they must complete challenges similar to ones that past casts have gone through. It includes playing with snakes, alligators and bugs. The group makes it through without much of a problem but it is a pleasant surprise for everyone that Sarah is a star in this mission and actually is able to help Kendal find the confidence to complete the challenge.''''Afterwards, Sarah is feeling a lot more comfortable with her role in the team and Kendal is happy that she's found someone she can confide in besides Eric. Rachel and Darrell agree to cool it off and just be friends. Darrell's a little confused by it all but he is happy that he doesn't have to feel guilty when he is out talking to other women something he is more than happy to do while they stay in N'awlins.moreless

Having squeaked past the Dot-commers in Atlanta, the Road Rulers seem poised to become a complete team, with everyone a full-fledged member and no one fearing being voted out. Shane continues to go big for the team, and Sarah is feeling much more comfortable with everyone and her status in the group. As they enter Alabama for their next mission, they are all having fun... until Shane slaps Darrell. It was in fun as they all joked around, prank-calling Shane's friends, but Darrell is not cool with having someone hit him in the face. He leaves the RV rather than doing something he will regret later. When the two are paired together in the balancing challenge, the tensions mount - especially when Shane teases like he's going to grab Darrell's behind. But by the end of the mission, Shane and Darrell have worked through their differences and are friends once again.''''Meanwhile, Sarah explains why her family disowned her and how that has affected her. Rachel is impressed with Sarah's ability to take care of herself but wonders why she can't have that same energy and commitment during missions. And again, Sarah fails to complete a mission as she drops from the challenge. The rest of the team has to compensate for her failure, and it's wearing on them. Shane thinks it sucks. While the rest of the team continues to compete, Sarah meets the Thursday Nite Posse, a group that claims to have stolen the horns off the RV. She calls the police on them, and they eventually get their horns back, but it's not really enough to satisfy the rest of her teammates, and Rachel says that the next time they lose a mission, "Sarah is gone."moreless

The Road Rulers roll onto the Clark-Atlanta campus to find out that not only will they once again be competing for the elusive $6,000, but that they will also be competing against another team. Once again, MTV.com has fielded a group of six whose soul mission is to bring down the Roadies. There's no love in this game as the de facto leader of the Dot-commers, Sam, asks the RR squad if they are ready to lose. ''''The mission itself is a step competition being hosted by hip-hop's dynamic duo, Outkast. Each team has to come up with a step routine that will be judged by members of the CAU Greek organizations. Shane isn't taking the mission seriously and is constantly messing up while they go through the grueling practices. It's perhaps not the best time for him to start taking things lightly, as he has found himself in Sarah's old position as the outsider of the group. Shane is uncomfortable with the coupling up that has gone on in the RV and is maybe taking it out on the others a bit, making snarky comments about his teammates. When he and Eric go to spy on the Dot-com team, though, Shane realizes that the competition is going to be tough and spends the night practicing (to the approval of the rest of the team). ''''With a full auditorium as their audience, both teams perform. The Dot-commers succeed at getting the crowd hyped, and what they lack in synchronization and grace, they make up for in fun and energy. The Road Rulers are nervous about their performance, but come out strong. While not as crowd-pleasing, their performance is a bit crisper and a lot more intricate, and they get bonus points for much man-nakedness. The RR team wins by 1 point and goes home with the dough. After a great show by Outkast, the two teams decide to go on a night on the town together, letting bygones be bygones.moreless

The Road Rules Team finds out that they will be reporting to the Citadel, the military college of South Carolina. Rachel and Eric are psyched about the mission. They have been dreaming of going to the Citadel, and now they have the chance to prove that they have what it takes to make it at one of the toughest military academies in the world. Being thrust into a military experience reminds Kendal of her father who was in the army. Meanwhile, Sarah is noticeably not as ecstatic as the rest of the team and Shane, who spent time in ROTC in the past thinks that no one is prepared for what's about to happen.''''On their way to the campus, Kendal explains to Eric the significance of the ring she wears. Kendal reveals that after her parents divorced, her father committed suicide and her mom gave her the ring as a memory of her father.''''As the team pulls into the beautiful Citadel, everything at first seems peaceful. However, things quickly change. The team finds out that their mission will be to refrain from getting demerits and to have all six teammates complete a Bull Dog challenge. The group spend two days as 'knobs' and learn what its like to be a freshman at this college. During the event, the girls finally start to bond and accept Sarah into the fold, creating a little rift in the group along gender lines.''''While the girls get closer, Shane continues to pile up demerits for insubordination. The stress of the mission mixed with memories of her dad serve to break Kendal down. The team also begins to worry that they will fail the mission when Sarah goes down with an injury. However, once they are told they can compete without her, they are able to grind it out doing far better than their Citadel instructors had ever expected.moreless

So you know that there's something going on with Kendal and Eric. Eric 'wants Kendal's nuts,' as Sarah so delicately put it, but Kendal's not so sure about Eric. He's growing on her, but he's kind of a dork and she doesn't really know how she wants to deal with it. What you probably didn't know, though, is that there's also something going on with Darrell and Rachel. Rachel, who has a girlfriend at home, admits that she considers herself 'a straight woman who has a girlfriend.' As time passes on this trip, she finds herself getting closer and closer to Darrell. They cuddle at night, they lay over and around each other, and they flirt. They flirt probably even more than Eric and Kendal do. ''''Meanwhile, the gang arrives at Clemson University and learn that their next mission is to roll a car just like stuntmen do in movies. They have to do 3 complete car rolls between the six of them. Even with Rachel and Kendal unable to flip their cars at all, the Roadies have a chance to win when Darrell, Eric and Shane all get their cars over. Shane actually does one complete roll, showing that he is the MVP of the group. When Sarah gets her turn, she tries valiantly, but can't get the car over. The team must now decide whether to give up their prizes or vote someone off. They choose to give up the Aprilia Scooters, but Rachel says that if they lose again, 'they are going to have to make a change, because the losing is no fun.'moreless

They jog in the mornings, do exercising together and have already started to form bonds and friendships. Sarah isn't ready yet to make that commitment. She's not a sporting fool. Her relationship with her family has made her not trustworthy of people. When the group confronts her about not making the effort to be a part of the group, she breaks down and explains it all to them, hoping that they will understand. ''''Meanwhile, Eric and Kendal aren't a couple but they sure act like it. When Kendal talks about calling her ex-boyfriend, Eric is noticeably upset. Eric continues to flirt with her but Kendal is putting up a wall even though its obvious to everyone that she is attracted to him. She claims she's just not mentally ready for a relationship with Eric right now but when Eric flirts with other girls, Kendal is jealous. ''''The roadies drive to the University of South Carolina for their third mission, The Freshman 15. After they eat a huge meal, they are told that they have 4 hours to gain a cumulative 15 pounds. They all go around campus asking people for food. They devour hot pockets and beefaroni and burgers off a George Foreman grill. After four hours, they are able to gain the 15 pounds with Sarah being the teammate that puts them over the top. Campus Crawl begins with the 6 cast members getting picked up on a yellow school bus somewhere in the mountains of North Carolina. We quickly meet everyone and find out that Darrell likes to box, Rachel thinks that she's been put in some kind of fraternity/sorority House, Eric thinks Kendal is hot, Kendal likes to wear a furry coat, Sarah doesn't like girls and Shane 'likes the girls but really likes the guys.'
      ''
''Th Road Rulers start off at Appalachian State University where the gang's first mission is called the Polar Plunge. They must dive into the nearly freezing Duck Pond to recover the keys that will open the Woodie. The guys all get down to their skivvies and Sarah and Kendal take off their shirts and the crowd around them delights in their nakedness. Shane doesn't pay attention to their instructions and jumps in the pond early dragging just about everyone else in and they all swim frantically to get the keys.
      ''
''Once they are inside the RV, they learn that they will be visiting college campuses all over the United States. They also learn that if they fail missions they will have the option to either give up their prizes or vote a teammate off. Rachel and Kendal are both uncomfortable with the rule. They didn't come to win prizes, they came to have fun. Rachel suggests that they make a pact that they will always vote to get rid of their prizes. Shane pipes in and says, "But what if we win cars?" They decide to wait on making that kind of decision until they see what kind of prizes they are going to win.
      ''
''That night, Eric and Kendal end up sleeping on the pull out bed in the main part of the woodie, while Shane is asleep on the floor in a sleeping bag. While the lights are out, Shane whispers, "What are ya'll doingI heard the sheets rustling, I know what was going on." Eric offers that if Shane wants to come up and cuddle, he can. They joke about the flirting going on between Eric and Kendal and Shane offers that he will be their human chastity belt.
      ''
''Their next mission is Lean On Me. It's a kind of extreme Trust exercise. The group must go in pairs across a wire walk 108 feet above the ground between two dorm rooms. Rachel and Shane go first and successfully make it across. Sarah and Darrell are next and because Sarah isn't ready to trust anyone on this trip yet, they fall. Eric and Kendal go next and then they fall as well. In the heat of the moment, Kendal kisses Eric as they descend to the ground. The final episode starts on a somber note as the Road Rulers realize that it's all over. Steve says his military upbringing will make him less emotional about saying goodbye. It's a really touching moment...until Ellen and Adam interrupt his interview by throwing mud at each other. Ah, love.''''Adam begins the last episode tradition by crying as he crouches in his sleeping bag. The next day, the cast puts all pieces of the crest together and reminisces about what each piece meant. They eat their last meal and toast each other and the memories they've made over the past 10 weeks. In order to receive their handsome reward, the Roadies have to take the crest to McGuire Air Force base at the crack of dawn. They take a 5-hour flight over the U.S. in a KC-10, a military refueling plane. They assist in refueling a few planes and then they get to do what few ever have...see a B-2 Stealth Bomber in flight. The captain of the bomber tells them that they have to deliver the crest to General Williams at the base. ''''General Williams praises their accomplishments and gives them a switchbox to open hangar 50 to finally receive the handsome reward. They run around the base searching for the hangar and when they arrive, they chant with anticipation. Blair says, "Call me the Blair Bomb. I'm just ready to explode." They flip the switch, the doors open in Let's Make A Deal style, and they see a group of new cars. Suzuki Grand Vitaras for the entire team! They are all incredibly psyched about the reward, but Blair is especially excited because he doesn't own a car. But then it's time for goodbyes. Sophia leaves first with her own personal mission of talking to her father about who she really is. Adam worries whether he will continue to be the "best Adam" when he gets home or if he will go back to being who he used to be. The rest of the gang are really proud of everything they've accomplished and will go home knowing that they've grown as people and they can do whatever they dream of. Eleven weeks on the road in close quarters has left them all a little tired of each other's annoying habits. So they pack their bags and head to Fort Dix for their final mission. As Ellen says, "This is the Big Dog. This is it." While Steve worries about whether or not he can cut it in the military like his father, Ellen worries about which shade of green eye shadow goes best with camouflage.''''The mission involves them being trained as a Military Medical Unit, and if they succeed, they will receive the crest of perseverance. During their tactics training, they learn how to "rush & roll" and the importance of team effort. Since they hate the smell of each other at this point, teamwork is a little difficult. Steve gets to be the leader during the practice mission. Rather than lead, however, Steve chooses to go Rambo and do it on his own. Surprise, surprise--the Rambo act doesn't work real well unless your last name is Stallone, and Steve ends up "dead" for the mission. Blair and Katie are eliminated as well and they fail the practice mission. ''''The next day the Road Rulers enter a simulation in which they have to assist medics in a refugee camp. It's a shock when they enter the camp and find people with very realistic "fake" injuries who are desperate for help. The team's supplies quickly dwindle and they have to make a supply run. During their supply run, they go under fire and lose their Staff Sergeant to gunfire. Sophia screams, "He's down, he's down, we need a medic!" This brings us to "The Dual in the Desert," which involves several competitions between the two teams for a grand prize of $1000 per person. The Real World team gets pumped up after winning the first event, a sheep-herding contest. The Road Rulers hold a team meeting in the bus and agree that they "WILL NOT" lose to The Real World team. They exit their RV with the Road Rules flag and a new sense of unity and determination.''''Round two requires two members of each team to sleep together in a closed coffin overnight while taped together "mummy-style." Each team gets to choose two members of the opposite team to participate. The Real Worlders choose Katie and Adam and the Road Rulers choose Nicole and Rachel. Although there were tears and complaints from Nicole and Rachel, they manage to complete the mission along with Katie and Adam. The final competition is "Oil Wrestling," which will determine the winning team. After an extremely long match, Steve defeats Mike, causing a huge fight between the two teams. In round two, Ellen beats Lori in a grueling match. After seeing Lori's condition, Nicole refuses to participate. In round three, Malik and Blair decide to quit and call it even. Round four is between Rachel and Katie and will determine the winning team. The Real World team morale is way down, and therefore Katie easily defeats Rachel. Once in Morocco, problems arise involving Adam and his insistence on being a back-seat driver to all of his teammates. During their first dinner back in Morocco, the team confronts Adam on his unwillingness to get along with the group. He puts up his usual defense, resulting in an ineffective team meeting.''''Meanwhile, the girls are not happy to learn that their next mission involves the process of making leather goods. They are even less excited when they get to the mission site and smell the disgusting aroma of dead animals and pigeon feces. Katie almost hurls several times and tells the mission leader more than once, "I don't live like this." She keeps claiming that she is quitting the mission, but never follows through with her threats. After the 14th time that she claims "I'm quitting," her team ignores her dramatic statements. One person that doesn't ignore her is the mission mayor, who keeps yelling at her to work harder. She pays for it in the end, when the mission mayor refuses to give her a full day's pay. Katie claims that she doesn't get a full day's pay because she "didn't stand in pigeon poop long enough." Meanwhile, the Road Rulers are faced with one of their most difficult missions to date. They must each convince a stranger to bungee jump with them in tandem within six hours. The tricky part is that the total age of the six strangers much be at least 300, which means the average age of each stranger must be 50. On top of that, they are looking for these strangers in a quaint village town in rural Spain.''''Ellen takes control and really pulls through for the team on this mission. She is the first to find a bungee partner and also tries to help her teammates find partners. The funny thing is that the guys all find 50ish women to jump with and the girls find older men. Sophia is the last to find a partner. At the last minute, she finds a man in his sixties who is willing to jump. As they prepare to leap off the platform, Sophia chickens out and grabs the railing. The man jumps without her, jerking Sophia off the platform. They end up flailing around like rag dolls--a scary sight, but luckily, everyone is ok. Back at the bus, Sophia and Ellen have a heart-to-heart talk about their fear of being rejected by their families because of choices they have made. He justifies this by saying, "I'm not going to let this person into the group until they earn their spot." Well, "this person" ends up being Katie. First impressions indicate that her positive upbeat attitude will be a refreshing change for the group.''''Before Katie even has time to adjust to her new environment, she and her teammates face the scariest mission to date: base diving headfirst at 65 miles per hour into a wall of fire. Katie faces her fears and proves to her teammates that she will be a strong member.
