This episode was adapted from Robert Nathan's 1928 novel The Bishop's Wife. It was made into an Oscar-winning film of the same title in 1947, starring Cary Grant and David Niven. It was also adpted for the 1996 movie The Preacher's Wife starring Denzel Washington.
