    From the BBC website:

    Robin Returns For Second Series

A second series of hit Saturday night drama Robin Hood has been commissioned by the BBC.

The current series has so far averaged an audience of 6.6 million on BBC One in the competitive early evening slot.

Jonas Armstrong and Lucy Griffiths will return as Robin and Marian, along with Keith Allen and Richard Armitage as the Sheriff and Sir Guy.

Filming is due to start in Budapest in the spring and the series will be screened later next year.

BBC Fiction controller Jane Tranter said: "The cast have engaged and delighted a whole new generation with this fresh and modern retelling of Robin Hood.

"Keith Allen's captivating portrayal of the menacing Sheriff coupled with the great performances from our young cast headed up by Jonas Armstrong equals compelling drama."

The new 13-part series will once again be written by Dominic Minghella.

Wow, I was certain this was a one-off season! Nice

I do miss Friar Tuck though! I guess we have Much for light comic relief!

I thought that it was a one off as well. However much I love Robin Hood I didn't know that it was liked that much. I am glad it is going on to a second series, I really enjoy watching the series!

I was under the impression it was a one-off series too.

If they're renewing this, they should definitely renew Torchwood!

I never thought that the BBC would make two seasons of this... But I'm so happy! I get to watch more! Yay!

Seriously, this news kept in a rather hyper mood at college.

Tuck... Hm, makes me think of "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" (seriously, I don't know why THAT version pops into my head... O.o)

And to the Torchwood comment... They at least have to air Torchwood in America soon. A friend of mine is beginning to bother me with his constant pestering about the show... (I don't watch it, how many times do I have to say that?!)

Oh yeah, this is a great series, it fills in the time slot before christmas when there's no Doctor Who.

Also the look Robin has at the end of Return of The king. Im not sure Sir Guy will be long for this world either. Wonder how they will play this out. Guess I have to wait until December 30th to find out

I don't think that a second season is such a good idea. It's very unrealistic in terms of action. There isn't enough gore and blood, not to mention the poor fighting choreography. A key disadvantage is that at certain times the story lacks common sense. The first season was average, so let's just keep it at that.

Well I loved it, domething to look forward to on Saturday nights and I think its great that they're doing another series and that all the characters are coming back. I also read somewhere that they were considering bringing Friar Tuck into it as well, so that'll be cool. Can't wait to see how they end it - but surely Marian's cover as the night watchman has been blown after Guy almost killing her... I guess we'll have to wait and see!

There was the possibility of Matt Lucas from Little Britain playing Friar Tuck, but I think he's too busy...

See, that's part of the BBC style, as much as it pains me to say. You gotta expect it to not be perfect. My dad is always going on about how they did NOT use that type of bow... But I tend to ignore it.

And besides, it's Robin Hood. You don't need gore and blood, it's not about the action but about the battle between the two sides, mental and physical.

I'm SO glad there's going to be a season two because then we get to see how the Marian/Robin thing plays out - I for one was gettingĀ a bit bored of the Guy/Marian/Robin triangle (don't get me wrong it was a great storyline but I'm glad they're not going to drag it out into a second series) And I want to see what will happen there, I'm so happy they're finally together!!! Pkus it should make for some really good plotlines in season 2.
