What did you think of the ending to season 3?
Should the show come back or just end this way?
I found it very sad but its a great series final!!!!
BBC (ended 2009)
SPOILER for season 3 finale.
It's one of the best series finales I've ever seen, and believe me I've been watching 48 series so far for a total of 128 seasons and 25 series finale (just the fact that I'm counting them is enough to make the point)!
The episode was so good, the castle falling down was so cool!
The ending was shocking because I'd never thought he would have died, but when Isabella poisoned him i told myself "they killed Marion, why not Robin?" I also read that he is not coming back for a fourth season so I guessed it could happen and it did. For a moment I thought that father tuck could find an antidote, but this ending is far more better, not the old same happy ending.
I think it should end here but I won't be disappointed if there's another season on the way.
I thought the ending was alright. Didnt particularly care for Robin but his end was sweet, and Guy's was better than I expected too.
However with my fave character gone I have no interest in watching a 4th series. In all honesty the programme just werent that good in the first place imo the writing was often quite poor. It was the acting ability of the stars that really brought out interest in the characters.
A 4th series would have who left? Archer, Lil Jon, Much, (Super Annoying) kate and (I can't stop giving long, boring rambling speeches) Tuck No thanks
What's the betting that they're gunna try and bring it back on the basis of 'we are robin hood' that they dont need acctual robin for the show to continue, but that would be LAME
And did anyone notice the odd thing about his death? according to tradition mythology if robin died an arrow was ment to be shot and where ever it landed thats where he would be buried, why didnt that happen?
I'm not crazy about the "kill them all" approach -- but I agree it was very well done as a tragic story, and very moving. I don't like the fact that they killed Guy (my favorite character) but that said.... his death was an absolutely beautiful scene, and I'm glad he found peace and freedom.
I'm not a Robin/Marian fan but I will admit that their reunion was sweet.
I just watched the entire Series (like literally the entire series 1-3) and I must say that if they bring it back, I'm not watching. I feel this finale, even though they killed off Robin, Allen... and even Guy, it was adequate enough. After all, what's "Robinhood" without the Robin? No one can replace Jonas Armstrong's version of it.
But how I felt about it, one of the best series finales ever. Most writer's leave it open ended and have it really cheesy, this was not cheesy at all. Yes the death of Robin was drawn out.... but he IS the star of the show, and I found the pacing of him dying was paralleled in the show. It was surely a tear jerker.
Then there was Allen and Guy. I was sincerely hoping Allen would make it.... but he didn't and he died a hero. As for Guy... I never cared for him much (especially after he killed Marian) but from episode 10-13 I was rooting for him all the way, and his death was well done too.
My main problem with the finale was the fact that Much didn't have too much to say on Robin's death or lead up to it. Or even talking about that whole Robin/kate/Much triangle. I was hoping that was going to be brought up in the coming episodes... but it didn't
I personally didn't care too much for series 3 just because 1. Will, Dhaq and Marian were gone 2. Friar Tuck annoyed me sometimes and 3. The fact that Robin had two random hookups with people I didn't like. Kate was just plain annoying and Isabella.... well.... she speaks for herself. However, the plotlines were truly dark and I liked most of them, but by far, I liked the first 2 series better. Seems more immortal with the legend of Robin Hood.
