    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Although Herne claims in the series two episode The Children of Israel that there is no other to take Robin's place, in this episode it appears that he has found someone to become the new Hooded Man.

      • Robin's words from the series one episode The Witch of Elsdon that the Sheriff will now hunt him until either he or the Sheriff are dead prove to be prophetic in this episode.

    • QUOTES (1)

      • Herne the Hunter: I am Herne the Hunter, and you are a leaf driven by the wind.
Hooded man: Herne is a spirit and you...
Herne the Hunter: I am a man.
        Hooded man: Yes, a man.
Herne the Hunter: Answer me this, what brought you here?
Hooded man: I don't know, there was a voice.
Herne the Hunter: And what did this voice say to you? Tell me.
Hooded man: It said, "nothing's forgotten, nothing is ever forgotten."
Herne the Hunter: So he is free.
Hooded man: Nobody's free, what does it mean?
Herne the Hunter: The Hooded Man shall come to the forest, there to meet with Herne the Hunter, to be his son, and do his bidding. String the bow.
        Hooded man: Why?
Herne the Hunter: To give it purpose, and you too must have purpose and prove yourself.

    • NOTES (4)

      • According to commentary on the second season DVDs, the Hooded Man in the final scenes of this episode is not played by new Robin Jason Connery as he had not been cast yet, or Michael Praed. Instead, he is played by stuntman Graeme Crowther (later Connery's stunt double in series 3) and the voice is provided by actor Simon Shepherd.

      • According to the booklet contained in the German DVD release, this episode first aired in the U.S. on January 14th, 1985 on Showtime.

      • Final appearance of Micheal Praed as Robin of Loxley.

      • Phil Rose who played Friar Tuck told STARLOG magazine that the final scene of the new "Robin Hood" shooting the last arrow was shot seperately so that the cast wouldn't know the identity of Praed's replacement. However he stayed behind at the location and caught a glance of a car taking Jason Connery away. So he was the only member of the cast who knew that Connery would be coming aboard in the next season.
